How did you become a Linkin Park fan?
Geki replied to thedamian58c's topic in Everything Linkin Park
It's cool that some of you guys became hardcore fans of LP back in like 2000/2001 when Hybrid Theory was blowing up. Like I said, I became a hardcore fan more or less in 2003, so I missed out on that time. Lol. -
Well, regardless of what any of the band members have said, the fact remains. LP has said stuff will come out soon and it ends up being longer. They have done that many times in the past. I guess we will all have to wait and see. All I'm saying is that since Brad and Mike primarily write MOST of the LP music, I think Brad's comment on the album being in the beginning stages still should be fairly safe to assume. The album may very well come out in 2014, but I don't think it will be out as early as April or May.

How did you become a Linkin Park fan?

I first saw the music video for SIB in 2003. Then, I heard Faint on the radio. I didn't know who the band was when I first heard it, since LP was still so new to me. I somehow found out it was Linkin Park and the song was Faint so I went out and bought Meteora and ended up enjoying it so much that I listened to it everyday. SIB was on there too, which made me happy. I then started High School and made a friend who also liked Linkin Park and after that, I ended up buying tons of LP CD's and merch, etc. and that is when I became obsessed with Linkin Park. I then joined the LPU in 3.0 and I have renewed in one way or another each year since. I also joined LPA around that time, 2003 or 2004, I can't remember. I have been to 19 LP shows, seen FM, DBS and STP live and also have several Linkin Park tattoos. I've met the band, been able to meet a lot of cool friends from the LP community, etc. I would say my obsession for the band grows more each year. I love the band and always will. -
He never said ''it will definitely be out in the first half of 2013. He said it's likely. Mike and the rest of LP have said that many times and we ended up waiting longer. I don't see what the big rush is from everyone. We just got Living Things last year and they just released Recharged as well as LPU13. I guess people just want as much new music as possible from LP without caring if it's quality music or not.

Brad just said yesterday that the new album is in the 'beginning' stages. I highly doubt a first single would be out by April. I think if the album is to be released in 2014, it will be way later in the year, or maybe we will even wait until 2015, who knows.

Bingo, but LP have always tried to adapt and stay current with the 'mainstream' despite the band saying that they aren't in the mainstream at times.

It's not NRG.

This has been bugging me for a while. Does anyone know why when LP does US tours, sometimes the promo adds and flyers and stuff won't list the co-headliner? For example, some of the Honda Civic Tour flyers said ''Linkin Park with Mutemath'' even though Incubus was also playing the show. In 2008 there were a lot of flyers that said ''Linkin Park with Chiodos'' even though Coheed And Cambria also played. Or in 2007, sometimes it would say all the main stage acts besides My Chemical Romance. Also, both Projekt Rev's in 2007 and 2008 hardly ever listed the Revolution stage artists. I guess my question is, does LP choose the co-headliners, or do they only choose the supporting acts, etc?

LOL that is the same hamburger phone from the LPU episode from the ATS era when they were recording ATS. Awesome!!

Decent remix. A bit weird. So if this going to be on an upcoming LP release? The EP thing?
-
I'm guessing it will be LP featured on Steve Aoki's upcoming album. I honestly think they will use ALTNC on Transformers 4. Pretty cool, I guess.

NYC warm up show would be EPIC. I'd definitely go.

Bad Religion is awesome. I do like some songs by The Offspring, but not all. I would love to attend this show.. Great line up so far. Wow. Also, great news about the album. It's good that they are in the beginning phases. I don't want a rushed album at all. Take their time.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the unknown show from December 2006. So yeah, I'd say 6 shows. I don't think we will be able to get the 6th date either, but at least we have all of them except that one and we know it's from December 2006 at least. Awesome work, guys.

What about ''Half Life'' by Dead By Sunrise? They have a lot of demos titles from the 2005 board, but how do we know which ones are working titles for songs from Out Of Ashes and what ones aren't? I'm thinking Half Life maybe was the demo title for Crawl Back In because half life is usually used as a term for pills and we all know Chester had the pill addiction to klonopin back then as well as alcohol. Crawl Back In states ''don't wanna take your medicine''.

I'm going to make a new list. I thought it was a cool idea to say what my least favorite song from each album is. Here it goes 1. By Myself (Hybrid Theory) 2. Nobody's Listening (Meteora) 3. In Between (Minutes To Midnight) 4. Waiting For The End (A Thousand Suns) 5. Until It Breaks (Living Things) Some are the same as from my list before. I never liked By Myself because I always thought the lyrics weren't very good and I didn't like the screaming section that much, honestly. Just doesn't stand out to me like the rest of HT does. Nobody's Listening has never been a favorite of mine, even when they made the hip-hop medley back in 2004 and everything. The whole Japanese flute thing was a cool idea, but I don't think it was that awesome when it came to the flow of the track. I don't like the lyrics much, or the melody of the vocals, etc. Again, doesn't stand out to me like the rest of Meteora does. In Between was a hard choice, because I love all the songs on MTM. I guess I chose it because it's the slowest song on the album and it doesn't really build up or anything like that. I love the lyrics and vocals, but compared to the rest of MTM, it doesn't live up to the others for me. I never really liked Waiting For The End that much. It was a super overrated song and the lyrics always annoyed me. I don't like the lyrics. I usually love all of LP's lyrics, but these I just don't like. The melody is very strange with Mike's weird 'Jamaican' style rapping and with the 'Beatles' sounding vocals from Chester during the verses. I also don't like how they included the Apaches verse over the intro of this song, I don't see how that fits at all and it always bugged me. I hope they stop doing that in future tours. Much like MTM, it was hard for me to choose a least favorite song off of Living Things because I love the album to death. Until It Breaks kind of always bugged me because it was 4 demos combined into one, it just seemed unnatural for a song writing process. I do like Brad's part a lot, but the verses are a bit lame and compared to the rest of the album, this track just doesn't live up for me.

I think at this point, LP will have more remixes than actual songs.

None of the speeches on ATS are ''dumb''. Sorry man, but I have to disagree. They are very important speeches of history and they really fit well with the overall lyrical theme and tone of the album. ATS is a masterpiece, all by itself. I also love Castle Of Glass and Hands Held High, but that is besides the point I am trying to convey here.

I guess if it's later in the year, like the fall, that will be ok.
-
I agree probably about LT, Southpaw.
-
Wow, this is awesome!!
-
If this is true, it will be the most rushed LP album in all of the band's history.

I honestly think there were 5 ''BOW'' shows overall that they actually played. I think the rest are just canceled shows and dates they got kicked off the tour during. We know that 4 of these 5 shows did happen from different sources, but we don't know positively know that the Hollywood show happened, but I suspect it most likely did seeing as how they were all from Hollywood and it wasn't part of the Camel tour or anything. 5/21/2005 Tempe, AZ 10/17/2005 Albuquerque, NM 10/22/2005 Lake Forest, CA 10/25/2005 Hollywood, CA 4/22/2006 Tempe, AZ

So we are getting a ALTNC remix EP?
