US tour date seems interesting.. also can't wait to hear the Vicetone remix.

I agree. Also, Divided was probably from the same sessions as stuff like Universe, Basquiat, those kinds. Mike said they were post FM songs that he didn't really work with the band on. Divided fits right in with those two songs sounds. Who knows if the dates are right, because they could all be from 2005, from 2006, no one knows for sure, it wouldn't be the first time the band and/or Mike has messed up information like that. The band surely created music in 2004 and 2005. The LPU chat with Chester in December of 2005 was the infamous one where he said he couldn't go into the studio the next day because of all the screaming he did. He also said it would be LP's heaviest record. Obviously they were doing vocal takes and stuff and experimenting a lot. I honestly don't even think we got demos from the KoRn Studio that they worked at from January of 2006 to the middle of 2006, I think we are only getting seeds and stuff that they created at Laurel. This brings up a very interesting point because 2005 is a huge grey area in the history of the band as far as fans know. The lawsuit was very interesting and Chester talks about it a little bit in the 30STM film ''Artifact''. Maybe they did have to sign over the rights to some of that music. Maybe the Machine Shop Mixtape was actually LP trying to get back at Warner by releasing a new LP song for free, etc, the music business was a bit different back in 2005/2006 than it is today. I don't think we'll ever find out all the info on this stuff because I don't think the band is comfortable really talking about it (maybe Chester but he will usually talk about anything) and who knows if Warner doesn't allow them to discuss it, etc. This is very interesting http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/28/arts/mus...8cont.html?_r=0

I don't think Divided is the song they are talking about. Yes, it is the only 2005 demo we have got, but it doesn't strike me as a song that would have vocals or something the band worked on as a whole. Divided sounds like a Mike created track, similar to stuff like Basquiat, Universe, etc that was created post Fort Minor - early MTM writing days. I don't think we'll ever get this song, they decided to never release it for whatever reason and 2005 was 8 years ago, so I don't think we will be getting it if we haven't by now. However, there has been no demand for it, I don't see anyone really asking about it, etc.

The ''thoughts that take away my pride'' demo has to be one of these on the board. Lol.
-
Will be nice to find out some old info..
-
Cmon guys, I changed my avatar. A bet is a bet! Own up!! Lol. It's only for a week.
-
Yeah, wtf. Lol. They should have gave us vocals on this demo considering the fact they the band has said the song underwent 30 different chorus changes, etc.
-
Cool CD notes. I was worried we might not get notes with this LPU release.

Yeah.. you're right. LP does do A LOT for their fans, way more than a lot of other bands out there today. I do appreciate what LP does for their fans, it's just sometimes it seems like they are out to make as much money as possible. It's understandable, because the band needs to make money to survive, support their families, etc. LP really isn't like that, though. I was wrong. A lot of bands out there I feel like are just trying to get rich, etc, while LP does genuinely care about their fans a lot. It shows with the LPU and various other things the band does. Once I receive my LPU13 package in the mail, it will be awesome, I bet. The jersey does look pretty badass and it's probably lightweight and it will be nice to wear to LP shows in the Summer heat, etc. Lol. I also can't wait for the poster.

Where did you get Mike's descriptions of Basquiat and Holding Company?? Anyways, that's cool about Basquiat. It kind of reminds me of Mike's MTV Scores he did back in 2005, same goes for Divided, Universe and all of those similar sounding MTM demos.
-
Ahh, nice find. I never knew that. Would have been cool to get the 4th demo that made up UIB. Maybe on the next LPU or maybe it will be a downloadable mp3 from LPU or something.
-
Where is evidence that there was another demo brought in that was 'Chester's demo'? Maybe they added the singing part after combining the three demos to add more to it, who knows. I don't think there was another demo from that small Chester section in UIB, unless there is evidence somewhere that says this.
-
LP did it so they can charge more money for LPU (crazy amount for shipping and handling) while seeming ''eco-friendly'' because people will eat that shit up. No offense, but it's all about money.
-
Yeah, which will be awesome because I plan on getting seat tickets for LP shows from now on. With seats, you are guaranteed your spot and I can get in early to get merch first, etc.
-
Wow, epic list! You forgot to add Mike's description of LITE, he says the song at the core is about letting go of emotional baggage that is weighing you down. It's in LPTV. Actually, there are a lot of notes and commentary on tracks throughout LPTV. I could try and find a lot of it. However, there is so much commentary from the band from LPTV/tons of different interviews that it'd be almost impossible to find it all.
-
There is definitely commentary on LPU12, but from Brad. It's in the CD case. I posted it back in December of last year I believe. LPU11 had commentary on the CD case as well. LPUX didn't have track by track commentary, except Brad did say he loved WWDK in the newsletter. I don't think LPU9 had any commentary as well as LPU8, LPU7, LPU6, LPU5, LPU3 or LPU2. Where is the LPU4 commentary? Would love to see that.
-
No, I mean it's great for those people who want to fight to get front row and stuff, the LPU is giving those people a great opportunity to get to the front for a cheaper price than usually. Pretty cool. I just personally am not gonna try and be in the pit or front row, I've been to 15 shows for LP now and I was at the front for almost all of them except for a few. Seats ftw.

I know right now that I am going to be the only one to vote for this song, but I voted for 'Change' by Beta State. I fucking love that song. The vocals are incredible and it has awesome lyrics, a great melody, just overall a great song IMO. I like all of the LP demos on this release almost the same except for Universe, but only because I don't see the point in having that on the CD if they gave it to Kenna and Lupe to use for Download To Donate in 2010. I wish there was some background info on these demos, I would like to know about that demo.
-
I guess it is cool that people could pay 20 bucks to get in early to shows, M&G opportunities, etc. Of coarse this will mean a lot more people will be doing this, so getting front row for a LP show may be a nightmare. I'm glad I am choosing to only get seat tickets for LP shows from now on. As far as the PlugAir, it sounds kind of cool. I hope we get some really cool stuff from Mike in the studio, etc, instead of just access to LPTV and the LPU13 demos, etc. It could be revolutionary.
-
I wouldn't say Asbestos has 'full' vocals. If you count Asbestos, must count Debris as well. But yeah, each LPU album since 9 has had at least one ''full'' sounding demo. I guess the one that sounds the most complete to me on LPU13 would be Cumulus, but it's just an instrumental like the other demos we have got in the past for Meteora. No big deal. I was hoping for something full, but we didn't get it, so I have no choice but to get over it and wait until next year.
-
Wow! Awesome find! I have been wondering since yesterday what the title of that demo meant and I even asked people and they weren't sure. Lol. Thanks for clearing that up. Was too lazy to google info on it.
-
Can't wait to watch this. Going to be awesome to finally have this song in live HQ.
-
What does it mean if I honestly consider Beta State's song to be one of the best, if not the best, songs on the CD?
-
I think LPU13 may be better than LPU12 overall. I loved Homecoming and Asbestos on LPU12, but again, they had little to no vocals. Homecoming seemed primed for vocals and there were none. I prefer LPU13 honestly.

You can upload those MTM clips, if you want, would be cool. As for Apaches, they probably made it during ATS sessions and continued work with it in 2011, hence the trippy vibe.
