IMR is too epic to have a remix. I love IMR.

I agree except I love NMS and ETR.

I'm going to do the MTM interpretations. A lot have to do with death and rebirth, Mike has even stated numerous times that most of the lyrics on this album share that concept. GIVEN UP We all know the demo title for Given Up was ''21 Stitches''. What's interesting about that is that Chester received 21 stitches in his arm that night in 2006 that he fell through the window to his Dad's house while drunk and had to get 21 stitches in the ER. Also, on BBC1 2007, Chester said that Given Up was about quitting drinking and making the worst decisions possible and not knowing where to turn. So you can assume that this song is directly about Chester's drinking problem and the struggles he went through. LEAVE OUT ALL THE REST Chester has said the lyrics were a lot about dealing with humility and fear. Personally, I think it's about just hoping that you leave some sort of an impact when you are gone from this world. Mike said in 2015 “Leave Out All the Rest” is literally about dying, so emotionally that’s very heavy. BLEED IT OUT We know Mike had to re-write the lyrics a bunch of times, at one point even naming the song ''Refuckingwrite''. So, I think this song is about the frustration that Mike felt when writing the lyrics. I don't think it has a real deep meaning or anything, but they teamed it with a bunch of death metaphors to fit the theme of Minutes To Midnight which makes it cool. SHADOW OF THE DAY I think this song is specifically talking about death, obviously. I feel like the song is more specifically about suicide. Mostly the second verse gives me this interpretation. WHAT I'VE DONE Joe said that the song is about accepting the fault's of the past and trying to move on with the future. Simply put, I think this song is about that. I think that this is one of the few songs on MTM about rebirth, rather than death, which most of the songs deal with. But I could also see how it could be interpreted in a dark way, as well. HANDS HELD HIGH Without getting too political here, I feel like this song is about war, and the senseless death that it brings. I think it's also about trying to have a little bit of hope during a really dark time of war, the lyric ''With hands held high into a sky so blue'' give me that feeling of trying to have hope. Pretty dark song. NO MORE SORROW I think this song is really just about oppressed people feeling sick and tired of dealing with their tyrant leader. I think it's kind of tongue in cheek in a way about George Bush, but I'm probably wrong. VALENTINE'S DAY A bit of tricky one, I've always been intrigued with this song, but I think this song is about death and possibly about the feeling of being alone and missing someone after they pass away. Chester said that it's a very dark song but didn't give away any more information so that's what I get out of the lyrics. IN BETWEEN I honestly have no idea what this song is about. Chester said in an interview with Kerrang in 2007 that Mike was apologizing for something and that it was heartfelt and genuine. Possible rebirth metaphors in this song as well, like What I've Done, maybe trying to mend a broken relationship? Idk. IN PIECES Chester has said that this song is directly about his divorce with Samantha and how he was having trouble leaving behind his old life and starting a new life. Basically all of Dead By Sunrise taken into one track here? Haha. I also think this song has a bit of a rebirth element to it, about putting your old life in the past and moving on with your new life. THE LITTLE THINGS GIVE YOU AWAY The band has directly said this song was about their experience visiting New Orleans about a year after Hurricane Katrina hit. It also has a lot of death metaphors, once again and it also has a lot of political lyrics, and they definitely weren't shy about it. A lot of people believed that Bush and the government didn't do as much as they could have for the Hurricane Katrina victims and I think this song tackles that. I remember Chester saying in an interview that when he wrote the lyric ''water gray, though the windows, up the stairs'' that it was literally something that someone told him, one of the victims of the hurricane. And I remember Chester saying in that interview that how is it that we can spend billions on war every year, but can't even donate enough to help out the people who lost everything, people of our own country.

I have heard that Valentine's Day was about Chester losing his father, but it's not, because his father is still alive. Chester posted a pic on Twitter about a year ago of his Dad and Ryan. Lol.

Hopefully we might get at least 1 or 2 answers from Mike on meaningful stuff, such as LPU13, Mall & new LP album. But the majority of questions will be lame and full of ''r u coming to my country'' and such. It's Facebook, after all.

I do like 10 Years latest album. They write about religion in a different way, in a dark way. 10 Years is really great at writing lyrics and having them be moody and dark, I love it. The lyrics in The Catalyst just come across as very preachy and kind of one-sided, I guess. I assume that the meaning of it is that basically when the world is coming to an end and everything is going down, most people will be praying to their God to save them.

I agree with everything you just said. I was lucky enough to see it played live that one time in Manchester during the Winter Tour, but that was it. They should have kept it for Projekt Revolution.. But yeah, upon the very first listen to MTM, it was one of my favorite tracks on the album. Chester gives a very emotional and awesome delivery throughout the song and especially on the first 'verse' like you said as well. I definitely think this could have some meaning behind it. Most of all LP songs do have meaning, but I think this one could be personal and not a story or character like they sometimes do. Btw, this was one of the very first songs written during the MTM sessions (as said in the MTM booklet) and it remained virtually unchanged from the Korn studio, apparently. Interesting. But anyways, a song interpretation thread would be nice and fun.

I don't think I really have 5 least favorite LP songs. I love all LP songs. But I guess this would be my list if I had to pick 01. By Myself 02. Nobody's Listening 03. The Catalyst 04. Roads Untraveled 05. Waiting For The End I was never ''big'' into songs like By Myself and Nobody's Listening back in the day, and I rarely (if ever) listen to them nowadays. Not sure what I dislike about them, can't really say. The Catalyst and Waiting For The End were songs that I liked early on, but got very sick of them for some reason. I don't like the lyrics in The Catalyst with the whole ''god save us'' thing going on, I don't like when artists/bands preach religion in music, especially when LP says they never would. Waiting For The End is overplayed and the chorus gets stuck in my head and annoys me. As for Roads Untraveled, I used to like it when it first was released, but it's the only song that I usually skip when listening to Living Things. Just never really stuck with me. It has good lyrics, but the melody is kind of 'meh' to me and I think that style of music doesn't really fit LP that well.

Thanks man. Really gave me some insight on the song's lyrics. If you do want to dissect the song line for line, I'd welcome that, but you don't have to since it would be a lot of work.

It's a great song. One of my favorite LP songs.

OK, so I have been wondering this myself since 2007. What is the song Valentine's Day actually about? Chester mentioned the song being 'dark and we are a dark band who likes to talk about things and make you uncomfortable with them'. Any takers on what the song actually could be about? It's one of the very few LP songs that I have absolutely no idea what it is about. It sounds like a sad song, but I know it's not about something cliche like losing a girlfriend on valentine's day, etc. I know that it has to have a darker meaning to it. Is it about death? I know Mike said MTM had a lot of death metaphors on the album. I think this because of the ''the ground below grew colder as they put you down inside'' part, but who knows.
-
Valentine's Day demo title probably stuck.
-
Yes, that is the one song from MTM that they will always keep, which makes me happy because it is my favorite LP song and a good live song as well. In Pieces was definitely a great live song, I wish they kept it around a bit longer. Valentine's Day was awesome when I saw them perform it in Manchester in 2008. It wouldn't fit well with the sets nowadays but it was a cool live song, too.
-
I just want LP to bring back In Pieces because it is the second best LP song. Third being Valentine's Day and first being What I've Done.
-
Interesting. I've seen every HT song live except for By Myself, Forgotten and Cure For The Itch. Would have been cool to see CFTI in 2007 or 2008 but I never had the chance. Lol.

Couldn't seem to find a thread on this topic. What is your ''favorite'' LP show that you have attended? I'd say my top 2 are probably Madison Square Garden 2011 and SSMF 2013. I did love Bamboozle 2007 (because it was my first show) and Manchester, NH 2008 (was just a great performance of the band and good times). I find it funny that the shows in my home state that I have been to weren't that great. NYC and LA always bring it.

I just think opening with Papercut and then continuing with the whole album after it would be epic. Hearing that intro to Papercut right away would pump me up so much.
-
I think this would be good 01) Papercut 02) One Step Closer 03) With You 04) Points Of Authority 05) Crawling 06) Runaway 07) By Myself 08) In The End 09) A Place For My Head 10) Forgotten 11) Cure For The Itch 12) Pushing Me Away 13) Somewhere I Belong 14) LOST IN THE ECHO 15) Numb 16) Waiting For The End 17) What I've Done 18) CASTLE OF GLASS 19) Breaking The Habit 20) Given Up 21) BURN IT DOWN 22) Faint 23) Bleed It Out

Honestly, I'd rather that LP play Hybrid Theory in it's entirety only at Download Festival, unless they are planning on bringing that to a lot of places around the world. LA, NYC should definitely get to see that performance. Tons of Europe places should see that performance, especially Germany, seeing as how Germany has the biggest LP fanbase in the world. Tokyo should see it, etc.

Interesting. I was literally just reading the December 2006 interview with Phoenix from LPA and he said they were currently still tracking vocals. MTM came out in May of 2007, 6 months later. They did the final recordings at NRG in like January/February of 2007. I think we could possibly see an album around April of 2014...
-
Cool interview. The next LP album is going to have high energy, which is a good thing.
-
So the promoters came to LP and asked them to do play HT in it's entirety and they said yes. Interesting. Still awesome. Chester said they played it in full back in 2000-2002 when that was all the music they had. By Myself and Forgotten are really the only 2 that haven't been played recently. All the others have been played in recent years (2008-2013). He mentioned both Forgotten and By Myself haven't been played in a long time. They are bringing back Crawling. Pretty cool interview.
-
If LP were to only play the 12 HT songs and that was it, I'd say it would be awesome to play the album in order. But since they are going to incorporate other songs in the set, they should re-arrange them or whatever. Still play all the HT songs in order, just not in the tracklisting order.

Petition to get the Download 2014 show released as a DSP
Geki replied to JZLP-Benningstrong's topic in Everything Linkin Park
I just signed this. Of coarse we won't get a full webcast or anything like that, because Warner sucks and are a greedy record label. If we ever needed a DSP from 2007 until now, we need it right now. This is too epic to not have a super high quality rip of the entire show.
