[AndOne] Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 According to the website Times of Malta, Linkin Park is rumored to play at this years Isle Of MTV concert on June 30 in Malta. Please note that this is yet to be confirmed by LP management. Thanks to linkinpark92 for the heads up! Thoughts? UPDATE: Times of Malta confirmed their mistake. Quote
Xero21 Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 (edited) Hope this one is true. Let's hear some new music LP. EDIT: Article has been taken down, or the link is somehow bad now. Edited May 4, 2010 by Xero21 Quote
EWQMinesweeper Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 i'm skeptical. isn't isle of mtv usually more pop-related? lp at the same concert as scissor sisters and kelis? honestly, i can't imagine this mixture to be appealing to any concert crowd. Quote
maik_gianino Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 wtf ? let me imagine the next PR Tour, LP and... Shakira ? i think is fake.. Quote
sckofelng Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 i think the same, and june 30th would be a bit too early in my eyes either Quote
[AndOne] Posted May 4, 2010 Author Posted May 4, 2010 It's a free concert by the way, LP is kind of pop music. 30th June is pretty close, but it's getting quiet about the LP album too, which might indicate that it's not too far away either. Quote
Xero21 Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Here's another short article saying the same thing: http://www.maltastar.com/pages/r1/ms10dart.asp?a=8872 Both articles have said that MTV Canada's website has "confirmed" LP. Has anyone actually seen this on that website? Quote
Xero21 Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I honestly can't see this happening. Because you think LP won't be doing any shows by June 30? Or because you think the venue is too pop for LP? Because if it's that second option, don't think that way. Linkin Park isn't some underground band. They get tons of radio play. If it's the first option then we'll see Quote

Xero21 Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I found the MTV Canada video that "confirms" LP and The Kooks, but it can't be played outside of Canada. Anyone in Canada or know a way around this? http://www.mtv.ca/music/video_content.jhtml?id=1616894 Quote
[AndOne] Posted May 4, 2010 Author Posted May 4, 2010 Stupid MTV an their fake news all the time Quote
DelusionsOfAdequacy Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I hope we can read some news about touring stuff on lp.com soon... Quote
Xero21 Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I'm not so sure this is fake. I don't know why MTV would make up fake news about their own show, though stranger things have happened. As much as I dislike MTV, they are obviously a popular TV station and source of pop culture news. The news of this line-up of LP, The Kooks, Scissor Sisters and Kelis is already starting to create some buzz on the internet. I don't think it would look too good for MTV to put out fake news like that, they aren't some sketchy website. They're the real deal. But I guess we'll just have to wait until lp.com/LP twitter/LPU/Mike/someone confirms it from the LP camp. Quote
LPxDC Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 this show will def hold up the new album if its not done by then Quote
VavourasLP Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 i think new album is near..i sense it in the air... Quote

Because if it's that second option, don't think that way. Linkin Park isn't some underground band. They get tons of radio play. If it's the first option then we'll see they are of course not underground but they are also not a pop band. and here in germany they don't get that much airplay on tv and radio. at least not on mainstream channels. after all they are a rock band. EWQMinesweeper Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 luckily they don't have enough soft songs for a full set Quote
Spin Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Not sure about this, but if it's real, it'll be a welcome surprise. Quote
