More years have passed since then than I was old at the time. Being my 2nd year going to concerts at all, it was the first concert that I attended alone, without any friends, and my first LP-related one. Not to mention it was my first time attempting to record a show. I started to collect LP live content around 2003/04 and made some good friends in the online community, particularly Jonas aka [AndOne]. He already owned some quality mics back then and was kind enough to send them over to me. I was nervous in the weeks before the concert took place, but in a positive way. Every day, when I went to bed, I listened to some LP music and thought about my upcoming 'tape job'. A Hip-Hop concert was new to me, so as far as remember I took a good spot in the very middle of the club and did barely move. It touched me when 'Enth E Nd' started and Mike told us he needed our support since "Chester is not here", and hearing his vocals over the speakers. The closest I had been to my idol until then. I also attended the Meet & Greet before the show. As the concert happened prior to the release of the album, I brought my Meteora CD and got that one signed, lol. On my way back home by train, I had no way to playback the recording I just made. I still remember the happy moment when I finally listened to it at home, as I was very pleased with the result. I named the recording 'Back In The Docks' as Mike says this phrase after the 3rd song, surely in reference to their 2003 LP gig there. This is my 2006 Edit/EQ of the show with tags added. [NiKmaN] Posted Sunday at 03:40 PM Posted Sunday at 03:40 PM Thank you so much for sharing this gem and your memories of this special moment! Looking forward to listening to the recording. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to see Fort Minor in that era myself but I really enjoy checking out the recordings we have. I also rarely update my collection nowadays but these FLACs will be added right away ;) Quote
LPLStaff Posted Monday at 11:11 PM Posted Monday at 11:11 PM Simply incredible. So much to say here. The quality of this is amazing and what the impact of this is in the archival world is immeasurable. There are so few full Fort Minor recordings in good quality (for many reasons). The band is on fire at this show and there is so much going on during the show - for example the jam at the end of Feel Like Home is incredible. Numb/Encore burns the place down, it was a top song on the planet the entire previous year before the show. Amazing vibes, you can tell they love Germany (Mike especially). The setlist is so good... Believe Me is a monster song. They really are on top of the rapping with songs like Dolla in there too. This is just too good - have listened 5 times to the entire thing with many more listens to come. This is so important for that era as there is no full Fort Minor official live release for some reason (a SHAME). We, and many others, will look back on this recording in 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 50 years and say "wow, this was a fucking good one and this is an epic snapshot into that era." Well done on a simply amazing recording. If this was 2007 or 2009, there would be 100+ comments on this immediately. The forum part of the Internet is going downhill but it is still very necessary for what we do on LPLive to archive the band - but that's why this isn't burning the forum down. But just check the YouTube comments. Badass. We'll share the hell out of this. Thank you so much for putting this out there...what a damn epic set. Quote
