Yeah I will follow that advice. Last 22 hours never happened.

I don't think they pushed this change/announcement forward because of the response they got. The LPU email contains the same artwork and the sign up time frame is today and tomorrow. I doubt they reshuffled all of that on such short notice. When else would they have given people the chance to sign up and make plans?
-
You can't request respect unconditionally. It goes both ways. Fans have been respectful for years. We've been waiting all this time without even knowing if there is ever something going to happen. And the first sign back is basically getting trolled which is just disrespectful in this whole context. So how can you demand people to still be respectful? And I don't even think people are disrespectful. They are just unhappy. And this whole thing is not even clever or innovative. This scheme has been done over and over again. There is no clever puzzle behind it or any other twist or whatever. Everyone hates announcements of announcements so it is not unexpected that people dislike it.

I have no idea where you got the idea from that that release would be the second single. This is definitely misinformation and not what we know right now. All we know that music is coming in the second week. Presumably the first single, not the second.
-
I don't know where you got that from, but that is not the case.

As of now, there is absolutely nothing. They are very careful this time around.

Just going to post this so I can have my "told you so" moment in case I am right (and no one will remember it otherwise anyway): I still maintain my theory (with absolutely no evidence) that LP will show up on the list of VMAs performers eventually and the "so far 🤫" in their tweet makes me think so even more (like "there is one more but we can't talk about it yet"): https://x.com/vmas/status/1828508954374111478

Quick copy/paste from what I wrote in the shoutbox: Rock am Ring posted that their announcement is at 4pm German time. So a little over 4 hours before the countdown hits 0. I doubt that RaR would announce LP before LP does their thing and I wouldn't be surprised if RaR posted the time to manage expectations regarding their announcements. So possibly no LP at RaR announcement on Wednesday after all. And to take this a little bit further: if LP shows were to be announced on Wednesday, the organizers of RaR would most probably be involved in the shows in Germany (even if it wasn't RaR/RiP shows but solo shows for example) and they would most probably know about the timing. And if that's the case they most probably wouldn't have put their RaR announcement in roughly the same time frame. Lots of ifs and speculation, but based on that I don't think we will get show dates on Wednesday. Doesn't mean they won't happen soon, but they might be announced at a different date.

Since there is almost no discussion around the ø (which I guess is just because it has too many meanings) here is my prediction: ø is used because there is no album title. It will be self titled.

Altguy's post on pulsemusic also disappeared. I guess the cleanup crew is already hard at work 🫡

Altguy is also posting about Linkin Park again: https://pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/113079/general-rock-discussion?page=178&scrollTo=8660538 For reference, he was the person who first gave us any information about Friendly Fire if I remember correctly.

lpunderground.com is under maintenance.

Rock am Ring will announce the second headliner on Wednesday. Coincidence? https://www.instagram.com/p/C_A9GbtMBPP/ Edit: Thinking about it. The countdown ends at 11 PM German time and I doubt that Rock am Ring would do their announcement that late in the evening. I can't math

It's not worth trying to make sense out of award shows. For example Not Like Us is nominated for Song of the Year but not for Best Hip Hop. How does that make sense? How can a song be the best overall, but not in its genre? Also for all "Best X" categories you have a song nominated, but for "Best Pop" it's just the artist. It's all random.

„available now for Pre-Order on Because Sound Mattersweb store, for those who previously has purchased something through the band's official store.“ They sent a pre order links to people who previously bought stuff on the LP store, yet I didn‘t receive anything.
-
I am not buying those vinyls anyway, but it is kinda stupid that I spent hundreds of euro in their store yet I didn‘t get the pre order email. If this was a limited item that I‘d actually want to buy, I‘d be furious.

So my guesses are we either get an update during the festival season which is about to start (maybe one festival bought like exclusive rights to advertise with LP on their lineup earlier for a while for example) or we have to wait until the end of the year when full festival lineups are getting revealed.

He talked about LP because he was asked by the podcast host to talk about them and his work on Reanimation? He was just chatting and mentioned something he didn't think had any significance I guess. Watching the video it is very obvious that he had no intention to leak something or anything like that.

What confuses me the most is that I am like 90% sure that I downloaded a HD version of the BIO music video back in 2007 so there must be at least a 720p or 1080p version. I can't find any hints of a HD download back then anymore so maybe I am just dreaming it up.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Warner_Records_compilation_albums It's not like the 5 guys from the band do this stuff on their own and I don't think anyone complaining about this (and the HT20 situation back then) are specifically mad at Mike, Rob, Brad, Joe and Dave. They have one of the biggest labels behind them that should have more than enough resources and experience to get this kind of stuff right.

I think this is misleading. The majority of the quality upgrades don't involve AI upscaling at all, at least from what I can tell. For example, WFTE has no AI upscaling involved at all (and I would also assume that all AI models would produce shit output in that case anyway). I think in most cases they just had a better quality version laying around that were simply never uploaded to YouTube or they rescanned original tapes (like they most probably did for OSC back then). They only applied AI upscaling very selectively, e.g. in LOATR they only use it for specific scenes. I would guess that 75% of that video for example doesn't involve AI upscaling at all (or just very minor to bring it over the 4k finish line so to speak). All the Chester solo scenes for example don't look AI upscaled to me while the scenes in the beginning where Mike pulls of the helmet or the close up shot of Rob playing chess are definitely AI upscaled in a very visible way. I wish they would have kept it away from all scenes though since a) I think the videos would have looked good enough without it and b) it creates this very distinct AI upscaling artifacting which we never can get rid of. AI upscaling is something that will only improve from here on out and with tech like RTX upscaling, it will happen on the client while playing back the video, but we won't be able to benefit from that in the future since parts of the videos already went through one pass of AI upscaling.
