Dead Sara in general looks suspicious. They announced new music and shows at the end of last year for this but since then they are basically completely silent. They made a cover EP from 2017 available on streaming and that‘s their only communication ever since then (obviously there is a chance that they constantly posted Instagram stories that I have no idea about). And for this year there is no music or any show announced. Their drummer is touring with another band right now (not sure about his involvement besides touring), their guitarist played at least one show with another band and Emily herself collaborated on two tracks on her own with other artists. Dead Sara looks very inactive to me which could either be a sign or complete coincidence (lol). Also last year they suddenly cancelled all their European shows without any communication or explanation. Most festivals apparently just removed them from the line up. But from what we currently can theorize, that happened before the LP thing got rolling. But in general things look odd. Maybe someone here is more knowledgeable than me about them though.

One has to wonder how much stuff exists and is or was available for the public but simply wasn't discovered. Pictureboard was available on Soundcloud for over a year before it was discovered, this was on YouTube for a month when I discovered it completely by accident (I was looking for something completely else). It's always a matter of time until things get taken down or the uploader closes their account etc. and we lose access to those things again.

Coming back with a live streamed event is also pretty bold. So much that can go wrong. Something pre-recorded and heavily polished would have been my expectation but hats off for being this courageous.

I think people have some misconceptions about the duration and start/end time of the event. I doubt that the actual event is taking that long, but that's the time frame people should free up for it. Based on the waiver these 5 hours could also include some time for transportation to a place, ticket check, security check, transportation back from a place and just simply waiting. At least that's my understanding. I don't think that the actual event will take 5 hours.

The TOP thing is as ridiculous as all the other singer rumors and he is not the only one who is still convinced by it. People latch onto the most random theories for no good reason just because they like the idea I guess?

That‘s the type of stuff why I am here.

Their first EP came out in 2008. That's like calling Linkin Park a fairly young band after The Hunting Party came out.

Those show dates are from 2023

I think whatever it is will be live streamed and they chose to do it throughout the day to also cover European time zones as good as possible. All of their announcements in the recent years were timed in that way (basically always around 9AM PT/6 PM CEST), the European market is very important for them and the date is also advertised to the whole internet audience.
-
It is impossible that this was a short notice reaction and they pulled the announcement forward. The sign up for the event is today and tomorrow and the event itself is happening in a week. They couldn‘t have announced it at a later date or otherwise it simply wouldn‘t have worked out. In my opinion it must have been planned like that which is really random.

Talking about EXIF data, the image seems to be based on a photo that has been taken months ago. Shortly after we got the Billboard article. Just to give some perspective of timings. Don't visuals usually come last in their creation period? Or at least very close to it. So if that was already a topic they took care back then, this whole thing has been in the works for a long time.

I checked flights from Germany and they are surprisingly cheap. Round trip for 480€. But I think it is safe to assume that they will come to Europe so I think I will do a more reasonable trip once that's the case.

Yeah I will follow that advice. Last 22 hours never happened.

I don't think they pushed this change/announcement forward because of the response they got. The LPU email contains the same artwork and the sign up time frame is today and tomorrow. I doubt they reshuffled all of that on such short notice. When else would they have given people the chance to sign up and make plans?
-
You can't request respect unconditionally. It goes both ways. Fans have been respectful for years. We've been waiting all this time without even knowing if there is ever something going to happen. And the first sign back is basically getting trolled which is just disrespectful in this whole context. So how can you demand people to still be respectful? And I don't even think people are disrespectful. They are just unhappy. And this whole thing is not even clever or innovative. This scheme has been done over and over again. There is no clever puzzle behind it or any other twist or whatever. Everyone hates announcements of announcements so it is not unexpected that people dislike it.

I have no idea where you got the idea from that that release would be the second single. This is definitely misinformation and not what we know right now. All we know that music is coming in the second week. Presumably the first single, not the second.
-
I don't know where you got that from, but that is not the case.
-
As of now, there is absolutely nothing. They are very careful this time around.

Just going to post this so I can have my "told you so" moment in case I am right (and no one will remember it otherwise anyway): I still maintain my theory (with absolutely no evidence) that LP will show up on the list of VMAs performers eventually and the "so far 🤫" in their tweet makes me think so even more (like "there is one more but we can't talk about it yet"): https://x.com/vmas/status/1828508954374111478

Quick copy/paste from what I wrote in the shoutbox: Rock am Ring posted that their announcement is at 4pm German time. So a little over 4 hours before the countdown hits 0. I doubt that RaR would announce LP before LP does their thing and I wouldn't be surprised if RaR posted the time to manage expectations regarding their announcements. So possibly no LP at RaR announcement on Wednesday after all. And to take this a little bit further: if LP shows were to be announced on Wednesday, the organizers of RaR would most probably be involved in the shows in Germany (even if it wasn't RaR/RiP shows but solo shows for example) and they would most probably know about the timing. And if that's the case they most probably wouldn't have put their RaR announcement in roughly the same time frame. Lots of ifs and speculation, but based on that I don't think we will get show dates on Wednesday. Doesn't mean they won't happen soon, but they might be announced at a different date.

Since there is almost no discussion around the ø (which I guess is just because it has too many meanings) here is my prediction: ø is used because there is no album title. It will be self titled.

Altguy's post on pulsemusic also disappeared. I guess the cleanup crew is already hard at work 🫡

Altguy is also posting about Linkin Park again: https://pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/113079/general-rock-discussion?page=178&scrollTo=8660538 For reference, he was the person who first gave us any information about Friendly Fire if I remember correctly.
