I'm fully of the opinion that if the pandemic didn't happen, LP would've been back at some point in the past year. It just doesn't make sense to start your big comeback in an era where touring (which is a huge part of every album cycle) is an impossibility or has to be done through a screen. Mike as a solo artist doesn't really have to worry about it cause it seems (at least to me) that he viewed touring for PT as part of the grieving/coping process, not as an effort to push the album. I think LP will be back when they can actually get into a room together and touring is a sure thing. Like Justin said, it just doesn't make sense for them to play coy about it if they've already decided to end it.

It'd be ridiculous to say he's not pretty plugged into that, but I think it's a good mix of both. A lot of new "underground but still kind of popular artists" are bending genres in a way that Mike's talked about in the past very much appreciating. I don't think he'd collab with, say, a standard 21 year old metal vocalist or generic rapper for a mix of "what are they bringing that any of my other contacts can't" and "would this sell". I've always thought Mike was very good at toeing the line between experimenting and being commercially viable, and this whole song is just another example of that IMO

Because Mike is still convinced Chester joined in 98 for some reason

Covering any song (even with no monetization) TECHNICALLY requires a license. But it's not the same deal as sampling where you have to get in contact with the label/band to clear it. It's incredibly easy to get the mechanical license that lets you legally upload/sell a cover.
 -
Seriously man, can you make it through one thread without bringing up OML and saying how much you don't like it?
 -
I wouldn't be too surprised if they don't do a big boxset like this again, but I could definitely see them doing a "Forgotten Demos" type thing for each album. Plus the obvious vinyl reissue, merch etc.
 -
The way Mike talks about it, I'd be VERY surprised if it was Xero Reborn. He specifically says Pictureboard isn't that bad and says it had Chester on vocals, and then immediately after says Deftest was just him and Mark messing around with a 4-track sampler. Very much implies that the song was never really anything more than that and Chester never sang on it.
 -
Well the obvious answer here is Mike made up the sample thing so they could get out of releasing Pictureboard on LPU 9, but now that lie caught up with them since they'd HAVE to acknowledge it if they wanted to put it on HT20. So Warner just passed my man Jimmy Smith a few bucks to cover it up

This is so easily the best one. It's not even close. These feel a lot more realized than volumes 1 and 2 where you can definitely tell they were written in two hours or so.

Why? All four singles from HT were absolutely massive. I'm more surprised that it got 5th and beat POA since I always assumed that was the most popular "non-single" from the album

The EP is on iTunes at the very least, so I'd assume it's on everything -

Copped it for ~$140 on Amazon UK. I'll take getting it a week later for a $60 discount -
There's a good chance the Stick N Move demo is from Chester's audition tape

"Dropped Frames, Vol. 2" Release & Tracklisting

I feel about the same about volume 2 as I did volume 1. They're both fine. The context of knowing that he did these on stream and being able to watch his process elevates them a bit, but there's nothing here I'm probably gonna go back to -
We never got OFFICIAL confirmation that Warrior was War, but we do know that Warrior was a working title the band used during THP. It was on a songboard with KTTK, AFN, Wastelands, MTG etc., so it's pretty likely that it became War

				Share Chester stories 🙏🏻
GlassCastles replied to JZLP-Benningstrong's topic in Everything Linkin Park
I've told this story on here a few times I think, but I met Chester back in 2014. The meet and greet rules were repeated no fewer than 5 times and within seconds of Chester coming out, he broke every single one lol. No hugs? "Bring it in man of course I'll give you a hug". No personal selfies? "You wanna take a selfie? Of course!" Don't ask them to sign more than one item? "I'll sign as many things as you brought my man". When he got to me, he gave me a hug and told me my hair was badass. That nobody else's expectations or standards mattered as long as I was happy with who I was. It's a nice message that I feel like bears repeating. -
I don't know guys, imagine Linkin Park getting political? They could never
 -
I can get him not wanting to do a proper live release. He said a lot that the shows were meant to be an experience in the moment and a release could dilute that. But yeah, the Soundcheck Sessions release was weird, especially since he said a few streams ago that part of the issue with a live release was that he played LP songs in the set and the rights could get messy... but 60% of the only solo live release he's done is LP songs lol

Mike Shinoda's New Album - "Dropped Frames, Vol. 1"
GlassCastles replied to Stranger's topic in Newswire
Nothing Makes Sense Anymore, World's On Fire, Hold It Together, Can't Hear You Now, and Promises I Can't Keep are among my favorite things associated with LP. I'd take any of those over a ton of big "fan favorite LP tracks" any day of the week. RFMS, WAIF, PTS, Over Again etc. are all great too. Throw in shit like Kenji, Slip Out The Back, and The Hard Way from FM... Easily all A+ songs IMO
