Thanks, Captain Obvious! I said posted to LPLive. We realize that these will get out via other methods but we've got to keep ourselves clear of it here on the forums.

LPLive will let you know as soon as the DSP site goes live, we hope it will be open for business within the next 24 to 48 hours... That said: Until further notice - NO DSPs, newly released or otherwise, can be posted on LPLive effective immediately. Mark will elaborate on this decision and what led to it, but he wanted this post to be made to get the information out as quickly as possible to our admin, staff and users. We have already started the process of removing some threads from the forum and will be doing the same to individual posts as we find them if they have links to DSPs. We don't expect this will be a popular decision but it's got to be done. Again, more info to come from Mark soon...

Will definitely take care of that part. But I'm curious... why so large? What compression level are you using for flac? **EDIT TO ADD** Just noticed- you've got your sample saved at 96kHz, should be 44.1, same as the original and the bitrate is through the roof for flac - 2999kbps?

Point taken. But if my memory serves me, LinkinJoze is in fact a former trader and collector from back in the day and would have seen and heard many bad sources back then. (Will wait for a direct answer on this one). I admit, I may have jumped the gun a bit, so forgive my snark and snap. But it's hard enough to get people to tape LP and related acts, let alone freely share shows. Have a look at the liveguide some time for shows/sources that are marked as uncirculated or unreleased by the taper.

And when last I checked, this site was dedicated to educating people on the good and the bad recordings. We have never hesitated to upload or share anything based on the relative quality. I understand your argument and maybe I came off a bit harsh (for which I apologize) but the adage is 'You shouldn't throw stones if you live in a glass house'. If any other staff or admin feel I crossed a line with my previous post(s) here, please feel free to moderate.

Guys - please see the first post again as it's been edited. We don't know what the sale of all shows means for us being able to share DSPs but until we get a decision, please do not post links in the forums for them.

Not that I'm defending, but the likelihood is that they aren't done yet. There's been no official announcement that the site is live yet and seeing as it's a weekend, I can't imagine they're updating or changing anything unless Adam is sitting there alone in front of a monitor at LPHQ.

These days, no. They just take the CD in question, cut a hole in the barcode and sometimes slap a 'For promotional use only' sticker on it so it can't be resold.

He's changed his accounts several times over the years but his auctions have a distinctive format to them. Most recognizable part is that it'll all be centered with shipment costs broken down in the body of the auction. I have, but it's limited to one seller in the UK. Tried to pass off a 'Plaster UK Acetate CD' after we released the track and he got called out on the carpet on it. Also, recently spoke to another collector who bought items from this same seller where issues have cropped up with certain things sold like a Meteora promo disc when we clearly know nothing other than the SIB snippets promo was released prior to the album dropping.

That made my day.
