    My Suffering!

Another thing I want to mention...I just went back and watched the '08 live version for the first time in a while, and while I, like a lot of people, prefer the scream-y approach to the verses, the lyrics to that version sounded WAY under-developed, to the point that Chester didn't even sing anything for half of one of the verses. I'm kind of surprised he even performed it that way, because it obviously wasn't a finished song yet. I think the '08 vocals were better, but the '09 lyrics are WAY better, and My Suffering is probably a better song overall that way.

    My Suffering!

I think LP is kind of hit and miss lyrically...the DBS stuff so far seems a lot more consistent. I'd take Fire over Numb lyrically any day, but LP's best stuff is still better than anything DBS has put out to this point.

    My Suffering!

Ever heard of Hybrid Theory and Meteora? Those albums are way more over-produced than anything DBS has released to this point. Meteora especially. Pretty much all the drums on JK's studio recordings are programmed. It shows how badass Elias is that he's able to translate them into live drum parts though. Little Sister and My Suffering are 2 out of probably thousands of songs that are built around a minor key I-V-iii-vii progression. I also must be the only person who thinks the studio version destroys the live version (I feel that way about all 3 DBS songs released to this point). DBS live has not impressed me one bit so far.

    New Divide Live

The Transformers premiere one is the only one I've heard so far that's even listenable, in my opinion. And that's only because they edited the hell out of it. A certain person told me, after the very first time they listened to New Divide, "Sweet, more notes that Chester will never be able to hit live." And so far, they've been totally right.
  5. Why would they be under NDAs if the entire purpose of these listening parties is to get people to write reviews of the record...?

    New Or Fake

Yes, an eBay power seller with almost 10,000 positive feedback ratings is selling counterfeit merchandise.
  7. Brad didn't break a string during New Divide - sounds like the battery in his wireless pack was going dead, which is why the guitar sounded weak/"clean" up until he changed it.
  8. It's a rough demo that we're probably never going to hear. Who cares? Seriously.
  9. Was fake, now it's real, Mike/LP management took it over apparently. Same thing happened on Myspace a few years ago. www.myspace.com/linkinpark used to be an unofficial page.
  10. Nope, just said he knew what was on it. But even if he had, he works for them...he's not going to say anything negative regardless of what he really thinks. That's part of his job.
  11. Adam from LPU HQ has said he already knows what will be on the LPU9 CD, meaning it's already finalized.
  12. The LPU9 tracklisting has already been finalized, so this won't be on it.
  13. There are three versions of Freestyle - The demo (which was on DJ Vice's Myspace), the album version, and the mixtape version.
  14. This has been on there for several months, and has not been substantiated whatsoever.
  15. So...I had no idea we had Palladia on my cable plan until my dad came downstairs earlier and was all "Hey did you see Linkin Park on the highlights from Sonisphere last night?" FML.
  16. It's a U.S. show being aired on a U.S. network...Warner has never had a problem with that. It's only international shows that always get blocked from being aired/webcasted.
  17. I think if Chester can guest on Where'd You Go and Enth E Nd at Fort Minor shows, Mike can remix a Dead By Sunrise song.

  19. I just think that at this point, they don't have a lot of other stuff that they could release as b-sides, and a lot of what they might have is stuff that should probably wait until the album is already out (i.e. demos/remixes). At best, they could do another instrumental/acapella one like LP did with New Divide, but with DBS being more of a straightforward rock band, it doesn't make as much sense. I'm willing to bet there will be at least one Julien-K remix of a DBS song at some point in the future, and it'll probably wind up on a single if it's not released online.
  20. As far as I know, the Without a Trace theme wasn't performed by LP, nor did they really have anything to do with its creation. The show's writers have stated that the theme song was intentionally made to sound similar to In the End, which is probably why LP are the credited songwriters.
  21. "Trend?" That's funny, I could've sworn Linkin Park just released a single a couple months ago that had an instrumental and acapella as the b-sides. *facepalm* I don't get how the hell anybody would expect anything BUT live tracks to be the b-sides on a DBS single release at this point...they haven't done any remixes (other than Morning After which is 3 years old and officially available on CD already), they only have 2 songs officially available right now, and we don't know if they have any completed songs that didn't make the album other than Morning After, which is already a bonus track on 2 different editions of the album. Some people really expect way too much.
  22. Well now that we're on the topic, I suppose I'll point out some of the ones I found a bit interesting... -Dedicated is officially only credited to Mike Shinoda and Joe Hahn, despite the LPU 2.0 CD listing it as Shinoda/Hahn/Delson/Bennington. -Although Pheonix is listed as a co-writer for A Place for My Head, Forgotten, and Runaway in the Hybrid Theory booklet, he is officially only credited on A Place for My Head (the only song credited to all 6 members of LP plus Mark Wakefield). -Chester is actually not officially credited on Forgotten - it is credited as Shinoda/Wakefield/Hahn/Delson/Bourdon. He is credited on FRGT/10, however. -Forgotten's official legal title in the BMI database is still "Rhinestone," meaning the band didn't change the name of the song until after it had already been filed with the publisher. -H! VLTG3 is credited to LP (minus Phoenix), plus the 3 members of Brand Nubian, due to the sample used in the song. -Lupe Fiasco's "The Instrumental" is credited to Lupe, Mike, and a third unknown writer. -Opening and NTR\MSSION are credited solely to Mike Shinoda, which makes them the only solo writing credits on a Linkin Park album. -Despite only Mike, Chester, and Brad appearing on We Made It, all 6 members of Linkin Park are credited on the song, along with Busta Rhymes, Cool & Dre, and Edward Montilla (a frequent co-writer of some big hip-hop songs). -With You and WTH>YOU are credited to LP (minus Phoenix) along with John King, one of the members of the Dust Brothers. -The members of Linkin Park (minus Phoenix) are the officially credited writers of the Without a Trace theme song. -Morning After is credited to Chester and a second unknown writer.
  23. Why are you surprised about either of these? Ryan Shuck just confirmed in the 98KUPD radio interview a couple days ago that Inside of Me is "like two and a half minutes long," and the live video of In the Darkness from the acoustic show has been going around for ages...
  24. When you can provide a source, I'll change it. I haven't seen this video you're talking about and you're the first person I've ever seen mention it. "With very few exceptions outside of Phoenix not being credited on most of Hybrid Theory and Reanimation" - meaning there ARE exceptions, just not many of them. BTW, My December is credited to Shinoda/Bennington/Hahn/Delson/Bourdon, same as any other typical Hybrid Theory-era song. Same with Part of Me, Step Up, And One, and High Voltage. Carousel and Technique haven't been published through BMI so I can't check the songwriting credits on those, but I would assume they're the same.
  25. Unless some kind of situation similar to She Couldn't happens where an internal acetate/CD-R promo pops up containing the song and someone snatches it off of eBay, I'd give it a definitive "no." Both the Linkin Park and Team Sleep camps have shot down hopes of it being released in the past. According to the Team Sleep side, it wasn't very good in the first place.
