  1. What a fucking mess.
  2. Couldn't hear it too well but it sounded decent. Can't really judge it fully until I get some lyrics and a good quality stream.
  3. Unfortunately, I was only 11-13 during the Hybrid Theory era so I don't have a ton of merch from those years. This is what I was able to dig up though: https://imgur.com/gp43SQq https://imgur.com/YHUQN68 I'll be much more prepared for the Meteora, etc. anniversaries
  4. #3 please! although Truth be told I’m not terribly into any of them
  5. Someone that calls himself a "tattooed millionaire" is only focused on one thing, and it's not artistic credibility.
  6. Barring all of the music related drama, I could never bring myself to support someone who is an alt-right sympathizer. I know for a fact Chester would not stand for calling a teenager who saw his friends get gunned down a "fraud". Way to "show love" to everything Chester stood for.
  7. The thing about that statement though is that it’s not true.
  8. eh, that’s just lip service and marketing. It’s not like they were ever going to recruit a vocalist, make new material, and tour under the Grey Daze name. Nobody outside of the more dedicated side of the LP fan base really knows or cares who they are. LP on the other hand are one of the biggest bands in the world and every thing they say or seemingly imply is scrutinized by every rock outlet on the planet. Even if they don’t ever plan on replacing Chester (and I’m a firm believer that they won’t) they can’t just go and outright say it until they are ready to make an announcement. Why? Because if they ever decide to have guest vocals or hell, even change their mind, they’ll be trashed for being liars. They’re smarter than that. Long reply but at the end of the day, I agree with you, they should just continue on with Mike on vocal duties. As long as Mike and Brad are on board, a huge part of the LP songwriting DNA is present and with Chester gone, that’s the best we can hope for.
  9. Not a fan of the production on this. I'm no audiophile but it didn't sound good to me. The vocals sound buried under the loud instrumentals. Overall, idk how to feel about this album. I think I would've rather had a proper remaster/rerelease of the original material if they wanted to share Chester's origins before joining LP. Maybe i'm just biased. Not a fan of SD and this whole thing feels off to me. Wish we could get something DBS related instead. The Julien-k guys are awesome people.
  10. First listen hot take: This album is pure fucking flames! I was skeptical of the guest features but they really brought something special to the album. Never listened to K. Flay before this and was pleasantly surprised with how well her Vocals complimented Mike's production. IOU is an ignant banger. Worlds on Fire sounds heavily NIN inspired. Overall, my expectations were met and exceeded!
  11. Ill be at Identity! Tons of hardcore LP fans will be going. Should be lots of fun! Ill try my best to keep a record of the set if nobody else can. Signed up for a m&g too so mabe Ill get to chat with mike for a quick sec. Oh and this post reminds me, Im totally calling a Dan Reynolds collab. If not on the album then live. Edit: didnt see that the track list was posted earlier. Oops! Haha
  12. Every song Mike makes fits his solo project by virtue of the fact that its Mike himself creating it
  13. The song is much more light and poppy than anything off post traumatic. But as you can see from the lyrics so far, its still very personal. I think the song is great!
  14. Aww yes LPL takeover! I'll definitely be in attendance!
  15. Alright bear with me here, I'm pretty tired after a day at work and being outside with fellow fans. Not to mention this was played in the middle of a ~50 person circle with a bluetooth speaker. I'll try my best to describe it but i'm not the best at describing music. I'll try hard to not misrepresent what we heard. I'll jot down my thoughts as they come to me: -The song does not have rapping. This is more along the lines of what we've heard on One More Light (but it's definitely a Mike and not LP song). -The song is about 3 to 3.5 minutes long at most. It doesn't overstay it's welcome and definitely feels like the perfect length. -The chorus is super catchy! It's still repeating in my head. Mike played the song twice and dared us to try and sing along the second time. We were all able to nail the chorus right away. -The bridge has this really cool drum sounding beat that kicks in. It gave me the same feeling I got when I first heard the New Divide bridge. It comes at you almost unexpectedly and mixes up the sound of the song in a new way. It's a highlight of the song for me. -This song has a lot of common elements we've heard from Mike and LP. Things like the song growing in sound as it progresses. Think of how songs like Heavy, Iridescent, and Shadow of the Day have their instrumentals get bigger as it goes on. In addition, Mike sings the chorus acapella/with quiet instrumentals (I couldn't really tell between the two) just before the final chorus kicks back in with the music (i.e. Heavy, Final Masquerade). -Not sure if i'm allowed to share the name of the song or some lyrics. What I can say is that this song continues the intimate approach that we got with Post Traumatic. Personal lyrics but delivered with an optimistic, almost upbeat sound is how i'd describe the song overall. -Don't expect to hear it anytime soon. Mike said it's going to be a while before anyone gets to hear it. The version we heard was not mixed or mastered. It was Mike's own mix. Still sounded great though! Alright! That's everything that I can remember off the top of my head. It went by so fast!
  16. Oh damn hahaha. The LP paparazzi caught me twinning it up with Mike! Still have the chorus looping in my head. Suuuuuper catchy. We’re in for a treat with this album.
  17. I'll toss in my vote for Jon Green as an unofficial 7th member! I got chills hearing him sing Battle Symphony at the show. He was fantastic for the whole show.
  18. I’ll be there!
  19. Section N1! I can't wait to meet all of you!
  20. I'm from the greater LA area so whether I get a ticket or not, I'll be there. I hope to meet as many of you as possible! We need to get all the ambassadors and fansites together!
  21. I'll preface this by saying i'll always support what they decide to do. My preferred choice would be that they continue with Mike handling all vocals. Mike and Brad are just to good of a musical powerhouse to hang it up. I'd also love to see the rest of the guys continue to make music with them as well. I also wouldn't be opposed to them being a mostly studio band with a few special shows every once in a while. I could also see this happening. They're going to want to spend more time with their families. They've said that before this unthinkable tragedy so I would totally support this as well. Maybe continue to experiment with more outside artists and have some cool vocal features. Jeff Gutt being someone that springs to mind immediately. Any other option besides the above would be a shame. I'd hate for LP to call it quits but at the same time, i'd also understand that decision as well. Chester is irreplaceable. I don't think anyone will argue that. I'm just rambling now though. It's going to be a while before i'm emotionally ready for new LP if it ever comes. Truth be told, I may never be ready. It's going to be an emotional gut punch hearing LP without Chester.
  22. Damn, this sucks so bad. I was never one for idol worship but i'd be lying if I said Chester wasn't a hero for me. I'd always fantasize about what musical ideas he had floating in his head and no matter how many other bands I've gotten into since listening to LP, I would always would look forward to a new LP album cycle. It became a lifelong tradition for me. I'm actually tearing up a little typing this because I don't know if i'll ever feel this way about a band or a musician ever again. My connection with them was truly one of a kind. They've been with me through all the milestones of my life. I've grown up right along side of them and their music matured right along with me. It's almost as if they held my hand and walked with me along this road we call life. I'm truly going to miss him.
  23. I just cant believe this is happening. I am shocked and devastated. Chester was THE voice for me. He was my Dylan, Lennon, Cobain. He represented everything about music that I loved. We'll never have another Chester and that hurts. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet him and express my gratitude. I'll always hold those memories dear until the day I die. Thank you for everything Chester.
  24. I've actually cried a few times already. I can't believe this. Feels like a part of me is gone
