  1. It's not bad but it's not amazing either. Like with Battle Symphony, I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to this. It's pretty forgettable to me. I've listened to it twice now and I'm already tired of it. There's nothing that really grabs me or stands out about this song. It's just there. I hope there's more tracks like Talking to Myself on the album. That's far and away my favorite so far. That guitar melody is infectious. As far as the live show goes, I'm concerned that too many songs with this pace will kill a lot of the energy.
  2. Hey man, you're VERY welcome.
  3. I get the feeling that most of the band werent really as into THP as Mike and Chester were. If nothing else I feel like theres no way Chester could keep up with more than a few songs off that album in one set. A song like mark the graves would really beat up his voice. Just look at rebellion, he had to tone down the screams a lot when playing that live. It really is such a shame that Keys to the Kingdom, Mark the Graves, and War weren't played. I fucking love those songs so much.
  4. I agree with you. I didn't like the flow of this set at all. Sounded like someone hitting shuffle on the LP spotify page and that is what they got. Catalyst isn't a good opener. They need a song that explodes right out of the gate. Talking To Myself has energy to it so that was a good choice but besides that there were too many "mid level" energy songs. Seems like they're prepping the set for more OML style material with the addition of LOATR in full, piano Crawling, COG experience, LITE etc. I'm surprised we even have wastelands thrown in there.
  5. I vote that this version of BIO be dubbed the "lazy bridge" version ha
  6. Damn, guess I should've signed up for presale.
  7. If anything we *might* get Invisible. LP has become very secretive with new material since LT. unlike other bands they don't like playing unreleased material before the album drops it seems. I'm guessing heavy, good goodbye (only half the song/ 2 mike verses), battle symphony in a medley, possibly invisible, and maybe teases in intros/outros/transitions. I'd love to be wrong though. Besides that it'll probably be a very by the numbers LP set since this is a festival. THP material would be perfect tonight considering there are some heavy hitter bands on the lineup.
  8. Of all the places in and around LA, why the Hollywood Bowl? Tickets are so overpriced and there's not even a pit. Saw Carnivores there and while the show was good, the venue left a lot to be desired for a rock show. Can they not sellout staples center or even the forum anymore?
  9. Any new rumors? I'm hearing rumblings that the blink tour is NOT happening. My uneducated completely off the wall guess would still be twentyone pilots.
  10. Is this going to work the same way as the depeche mode presale? If so, fuck that. I gotta work to go to these shows, I'm not trying to do more work and spam my friends just to get presale. Besides, I heard this system didn't do much to stop scalpers anyway. Guess I'll just have a friend cop me a ticket if the blink rumors are true. At this point I'm just excited to finally see Blink. Trying to keep my expectations for a radically different lp set as low as possible.
  11. I posted this on another site but I'll paste it here because I did some thinking after giving the track a few spins. When I realized that LP were gonna do a pop album, my only hope was that they made some catchy ear candy. I think they accomplished that with this song. That being said, even though I dig it on a very basic surface level, I know that in a year I probably won't be listening to this. The problem with these songs is that they explode on the scene and then just fizzle out and people move on because there's nothing substantial to keep you coming back. I think it's becoming pretty evident that LP has peaked with ATS. unless they pull out some magic next album, I'll probably just be a causal LP fan in the future.
  12. After the song finished I almost word for word thought this to myself.
  13. Holy shit I actually like it! The lyrics are dumb as hell but the delivery is great! This track is a banger! Just a fun song. Looks like I'm now 1-3 on OML tracks now
  14. I'm more excited for this than One More Light
  15. Mike, pls stop. You just can't pull off that braggadocio style. We're 3 songs in and I can't see how exactly they benefited from writing lyrics first. I haven't seen anything that is a huge improvement over their past material. Hoping the beat is good. Maybe then I can just tune out the lyrics and listen to it like a piece of ear candy.
  16. Oh man. It's becoming more clear every day that this is not going to be an album for me. The good news is that with all the info and leaks trickling in, I am being let down softly rather than all at once on release day. If they wanted to go the pop route, I was hoping for something along the lines of Purity Ring, Chvrches, The Weeknd, or Bruno Mars. Instead it looks like we're getting material reminiscent of Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, and Twenty One Pilots. I'm still holding out some hope for OML, Talking to Myself, and Sorry for Now because I quite enjoyed what I've heard of those songs so far. Such a sad state of affairs for someone that has been following the band since 2000 and has loved most of the bands output since. Well, I guess 17 years wasn't a bad run eh? Better than most!
  17. What a completely unremarkable song. Better than heavy but that's not a huge accomplishment. I felt absolutely nothing listening to this song. It was just there. That might be worse than a bad song because at least a bad song would elicit some emotional response.
  18. Now THAT'S what i'm talking about. More of this please! These small clips (although alternately arranged) sound WAAAAY better than Heavy. Good lyrics, super catchy, (and especially with OML) with lots of heart. Now, I am a little excited for this album.
  19. I know people that went to this show. They definitely DID play a new song. It wasn't broadcast for whatever reason.
  20. Much love and respect to Chester. It's refreshing how honest and open he is.
  21. Can LP go back and replace BID with the version they performed on Facebook? That would be greeeeeat.
  22. lol, I've learned to not take mike seriously before an album drops. Homeboy has a track record of saying some contradictory shit.
  23. I'd be more upset if they didn't whore their names out to a bunch of other pointless shit (I.e. That infinity speaker, project spark, stage light, transformers toys, 3D figures, nendoroids, etc. etc.). I'm a year there will be no mention of it just like the rest of that stuff nobody asked for.
  24. This is what bugs me. After being up on his high horse and taking shots at the pop scene he makes something like this. Makes his whole attitude and persona seem manufactured. Chvrches latest material shits all over this song. Oops! Edit: whoa I don't know how the quote formatting got screwed up. I'm on mobile so I'm not gonna bother fixing it. Sorry :/
  25. Whoa, didn't expect so many people to dislike this. After getting called out for being negative on the big two fansites, my opinion seems tame compared to what others here have expressed. Looks like we got another polarizing album cycle ahead of us. This is gonna get interesting.
