Great find. Added the hedpe dates to the CB page... we'll get the page reorganized to include the 5 known hedpe dates in a new hedpe section. I have a feeling we will be adding 5+ more in the future. Lots of unknown stuff going on at that time. The PR2002 pic above that I commented on ages ago is most likely guesting during OSC.

Chester Bennington

I agree completely with Justin. No one would ever complain if something got sampled or if Mike even needed Benjamin to step out in front of Joe's stand to play a part of a song on guitar while Mike is on vocals (seems unlikely, but then again, whatever works for them). The band is extremely flexible with what they can do at this point to continue on stage live. The number one person I'd want to figure this out (as badly as that sounds) is Mike. He will get it done.

Looks like they are jumping right into sold out arenas in Japan.

Grey Daze & Julien-K Team-Up For Chester Tribute Show
hahninator replied to lpliveusername's topic in Newswire
@spraypaint - they are continuing 110%. WTF? It's a MEMORIAL event, it isn't some "DEAD BY SUNRISE / GREY DAZE COHEADLINING SHOW 2017 THROWDOWN FEAT BRAND NEW SINGER!" It's a combined effort by members of those bands to play some songs in memorial of Chester since they were some of his best friends. Those bands are completely done and ended. Maybe we see some catalogue stuff released down the road but new material, of course not, they're finished. It's a tribute deal for Chester damn not some type of "he's being replaced deal". -
I always said I didn't want the LPU CDs to go back to live tracks, but they professionally recorded the NYC Subway Set + OML at Kimmel so that would be a great 6 song release. Maybe toss on Talking to Myself, Sharp Edges, Heavy, Good Goodbye live from 2017 touring. Nice stuff. Now that the situation has changed with Chester, I think any sort of release geared as a tribute towards him is pretty appropriate. Whatever they do I am fine with. I don't have any requests for certain songs, we see where that got us before. The LPU songs always end up being some good, some blah, so I'm sure whatever they release it will be with good intentions and we will like some of it. No problem. Just hope they do SOMETHING as I (selfishly?) want to keep the site/fanbase rolling with news, etc. Not for hits or views or anything but it's just become such a norm/regular thing for 12 years I think it would be pretty depressing if the entire operation of the machine stopped. But I'm pretty sure it won't.

We don't TECHNICALLY know the future of LP yet (even though we are 99.9% sure they are continuing on...look at Japan, they could have said "all future touring is canceled" but they haven't said a word about it/dates are still on the website and the promoters are still selling tickets AFTER saying "the shows are a go, update soon") so it might be a little too soon but I expect 2018 to be full of this type of stuff. I have no doubt the 2005 Snow White Tan/Dead By Sunrise acoustic demos are great. LP has hours of material, no doubt on that either. I feel kind of bad talking about stuff I want to hear from him now only one month later. I'm fine if this stuff takes a while to come out because it isn't at the forefront of my mind. I am positive LP will honor him in the best way possible (and include Talinda on any decisions, she's pretty damn classy towards the LP fanbase and so is WBR). We will get some stuff in due time. Later this year or 2018. I think one LPU CD dedicated to him is great. I'm fine with whatever they do, I respect any decisions by any of these artists.

LPU will continue to exist, no way they drop the fanclub IMO. A cool idea is to make the entire CD this year focused on Chester. Subscriptions would EXPLODE. Before that, my idea was to do the NYC Subway Set (Acoustic) + OML from Kimmel at the end. Epic. LP has a ton of studio material to go on after this WITH Chester, indeed. We will see how they use it. I'm talking hours and hours of Chester vocals. I don't think they'd put it on the next album but you never know.

Read Ryan's post on the DBS Facebook today. Sounds like he will spearhead releasing some stuff.

I disagree completely. Cornell sent Chester over the edge, nothing to do with the reaction of the album. As I mentioned before, LP were masters at handling criticism having dealt with it for every single album. OML's backlash was nothing new and was nothing even close to how badly the fanabase backlashed over ATS.

MTM 10 year anniversary and WBR wanted to celebrate it. More details soon from LP.

Our resident expert on releases, martinez, has brought it to our attention that Linkin Park will be releasing a Minutes to Midnight picture vinyl on September 29th. The tracklisting for the vinyl features No Roads Left. The vinyl has appeared as a preorder on both Amazon ($24.98) and eBay, with the barcode 0093624912118, which if you Google shows you that this specific barcode was originally going to be a One More Light vinyl release. Some sites show a release date for September for that OML vinyl, but it appears to now be full steam ahead on Minutes to Midnight instead. We are anticipating an announcement or confirmation from Linkin Park on the upcoming release.

Yeah I never got around to adding them yet. The pic of dates is on their FB page. I'll get to it. Really lost motivation in the past month.

What? In the End and Numb aren't bigger than What I've Done? New Divide?

Their statement says otherwise.

On the Deftones 'Back to School' European Tour in 2001, Linkin Park's first song 'With You' was filmed at Köln, Germany's Palladium. It was aired on a "VIVA2 Rock Linkin Park/Taproot" special, but this video never circulated online...until now. Thank you to the uploader for sharing!

Linkin Park Releases 'Talking to Myself' Lyric Video
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
The Indonesia people were posting about this show back in April, so I at least at the bare minimum believe that their promoter(s) is/are asking LP about if Japan is happening, if they can book a show. This says a show is HAPPENING but I don't buy that for now until we see a date. I don't see why that is unbelievable if they haven't canceled Japan. This TTM video was obviously made earlier than July 20. By the way, it's a great video. The whole silhouette thing with Chester plays right into the lyrics - really cool. Do I like it more after what has happened? Probably, but it reminds me of the Given Up music video. Didn't Fiore do that? It's a good one too. It looks like now, it was released by Vevo accidentally? Or something? They also still have that live in Amsterdam video shot by fans to release. But if it wasn't meant to come out, I wonder when they REALLY wanted to release it. -
Linkin Park Releases 'Talking to Myself' Lyric Video
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
https://twitter.com/LPFItwit/status/897481423367438337 Doubtful. Japan isn't canceled and now Indonesia says a show is about to be confirmed there. Looks like they are ready to roll in a few months. -
In a nice gesture, the band has released a new lyric video for the recent single 'Talking to Myself'. We know many of you have heard 'One More Light' on the radio, which has picked up a lot lately. The new lyric video features lots of footage from the Living Things Tour (mostly Australia/Asia 2013), The Hunting Party Tour, and perhaps a few shots of the most recent One More Light European Tour as well. Of course, lots of great shots of Chester are included. The video has been released on VEVO and can be viewed here. EDIT: It appears the lyric video was not meant to come out yet. Lookout for it in the future! This is another nicely done, very visually-appealing, lyric video by Linkin Park, following others from the One More Light cycle - ' ', ' ', and ' '. The was released 3 weeks ago by Linkin Park and has gathered over 53 million views on YouTube already. 12/21 EDIT: The video is now officially released!

I have my theories why the album took so long but I don't think they are appropriate to mention here so I won't get into that out of respect for LP/Chester. I also agree with you they probably asked 21P. They were absolutely going to tour in 2016, but something happened that they decided to push the album. And I'll leave it at that.
-
I disagree completely. Also, Don Gilmore said Chester did a LARGE part of songwriting on Hybrid Theory and it wasn't until Meteora that Mike really took over. I'm still on the board that they can continue as 5, look at the custom setlists thread, TONS of live material in there for Mike. We will see what happens, but I would bet money they don't get a new singer. Seems illogical at this point to me.
-
It outsold THP in week one, right? Or am I wrong? I agree, a 30 date Blink/LP tour, while I do not like Blink, would have been a big tour. Machine Gun Kelly is pretty much regarded as a joke by anyone I've ever brought him up to. Snoop would have been cool but he's already toured with LP. Maybe LP booked the tour too late to get bigger artists on it.
-
Nothing on Japan yet. There has to for sure be a date somewhere in the next two months where there is a cut off for loading their production/sound/lights/gear on boats and shipping it to Japan. And the decision has to be made before that happens. I think if they have not canceled it yet, they are at least considering playing the Japan shows...at least in my opinion. The complaints about what the band performs live should cease for the rest of their career IMO. I like the Europe set a lot. Mike added the heavier songs for the fans too.
-
I think a lot of that is speculation. That could have been Mike on a quiet day. They seemed very excited to play this music live and were very pleased with the album. As always, they take pride in what they record and release. I don't see them almost ever reflect negatively on their music except (lol) some of Hybrid Theory and Meteora. Mostly Runaway and Easier to Run. The hardcore fans have backlashed ever since Minutes to Midnight, which was a huge album. Fans went nuts about them playing WID, NMS, and GU live then the album has mostly softer stuff after that. And don't forget ATS, the biggest backlash ever. The thing is with LP, they expect it and know it's going to happen and have always handled it well. Mike for sure was reading all of the comments online about Heavy/OML but as usual, there is like a 50/50 reaction, it isn't 100% against it. The label couldn't be any more supportive of LP than they already are, IMO. OML has outsold THP at this point in their releases, if I am reading numbers correctly. Heavy did pretty good on the radio. Europe sold a LOT of tickets and so did South America, but the USA wasn't moving big tickets for the tour. It happens, sometimes albums aren't massive for them in certain regions. They skipped Asia or Australia now for several albums. Skipped South America for MTM. OML was really big in certain areas, especially Europe. I think people are reading too much into it. I see OML as just another album that they were happy about and were touring for, nothing exceptionally unique about this one. I don't think you'll ever see a backlash like you saw with ATS again, even for the OML pop sound. ATS truly divided people, and now it's funny because it's regarded as one of their top albums.
