But that was also 6 years ago. Sorry For Now and Invisible are pretty good, IMO. Invisible live was fine. But that also isn't a full set. We will see.

WHY is there a live show event page for Chester's funeral?
hahninator replied to thesungoesdown's topic in Live Talk
I understand the points that it isn't an LP performance, for sure. I don't know, it's a sensitive subject to many people, so I'm not angry or upset at anyone at all in this thread about any comments. I understand what you are saying 100%. If people truly think it doesn't belong on the 2017 page, we can put it on like, its own page on the site outside of the live guide and then link to it from the 2017 page, or link to it from somewhere else. I honestly don't know what the 2017 page will do. I put a big page break in the middle because it's such a big deal. But what if Linkin Park hypothetically plays Japan and then more shows in November/December? I guess remove the page break or something? Not sure what the rest of the year will entail at this point...we're looking at things as the news comes. -

Me. Arguably the most impactful situation in the band's entire career. -
How in the world can anyone assume without context included by you that you are only referencing two of the band's seven+ albums? The Hybrid Theory and Meteora selection is pretty limited, definitely, but there are five other albums...over double that, with massive songs, etc no problem.

I think if they replaced Chester a lot of people would really not be interested in it. He's someone that is truly irreplaceable. Mike is the man's soul mate, I can't even think Mike would fathom the idea of replacing him at all.

Jeff Gutt is the STP singer if I am not mistaken, right?

Great posts. I agree with Astat and Alex, and Geki. You're pretty ignorant and/or unaware of the back catalog of music if you think Mike can't sing the songs mentioned above. There is quite a bit he can actually sing, from Iridescent to Rebellion to Roads Untraveled to all the stuff Alex listed. Reboot the live show with the stuff Mike CAN do comfortably, add the new music when the time comes, toss in a Fort Minor song or two, and it's good to go. That's a full set....easily. Like it was also mentioned, In the End is the #1 most guaranteed song in the catalog they can perform in full without touching a single thing, because the crowd sings SO loudly at every show. Close the show with it if you want. I think this is the most obvious way forward. We will see.

Wow that's a great setlist. Strange Invisible and Mannequin Eyes are two of their best recent songs.

Hey. Let me take a look at this today. I've slacked badly with this but have gotten a lot of messages about it in the last two weeks.

10/10 love that. Love how we had the same last 3 songs and same opener.

Hey everyone, We are excited to announce we are partnering with our friends at Filthy Nasty Productions for a charity benefit event to honor the legendary Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. We will have a guestbook and banner for people to sign and share their story. Additionally, a silent auction will be held for Linkin Park/Chester Bennington-related items. Pretty possible there would be a spot for Step Up, High Voltage, or It's Goin' Down.

Basically, they're still discussing with LP what the plan is for the tour...if they cancel or not. https://twitter.com/HIPpresents/status/892690114542948354That's the statement from today.

Mike era. Requiem/Radiance Burning in the Skies Waiting For The End/Hands Held High Castle of Glass Experience Invisible It's Goin' Down Roads Untraveled Sorry For Now Leave Out All the Rest Numb (Piano Version) Final Masquerade (Piano Version) Iridescent Remember the Name Welcome Step Up or High Voltage When They Come For Me Skin to Bone/Until It Breaks (one of these or a mashup) Faint (Alt Version), or mashup Faint/Papercut/Points Rebellion -------------- In the End (crowd sing chorus)

The One More Light by One Ok Rock is beautiful.

Agreed 100%. There is only one answer here to me, and it's the 5 piece answer with Mike on vocals. We'd be SURPRISED at how much of the back catalog he can already handle and plus, Mike is the master at mashups and medleys (RTN/WFTE, or Castle/HHH). As time goes on, there will only be more Mike songs created. Just think about Invisible, Sorry For Now, Roads Untraveled, Iridescent, possibly Shadow of the Day, Leave Out All The Rest, a lot of the slower stuff Mike can handle no problem. Possibly Papercut, possibly Points. Nothing with screaming. Mike knows how to mash songs up, or maybe even put a rap bridge where there was heavy screaming before. Maybe close it with In The End full song each show and the crowd sings the Chester parts. I see no way Mike can't handle this himself, it's too far into their career to bring in someone new. Mike is majority songwriter already in the band....there are potential top 10 hits and albums still waiting to be made. He can get it done and I'm with it 100%. The dynamic and chemistry just won't be there if they bring someone in. It's a very UNIQUE case where this happens to a band and they have two vocalists that can both SING.
-
I agree. I think that's why they'll do it as 5. It'd really be an odd band dynamic with a new singer, and fans would be...I guess "upset" isn't the exact right word but you know what I mean.

Literally impossible to replace Chester in my opinion. For what it's worth, Japan isn't canceled as of right now.
-
Added both, thanks!

Linkin Park fans, Several days later, we are still hurting in the wake of Chester’s death. We are all mourning, but healing as a community. As a musician and as a humble, respectable person, Chester taught all of us kindness and to help those in need. Many of you have volunteered with Linkin Park’s Music for Relief organization over the years and have made lasting impacts across the globe because of it. Lots of you have donated money to MFR or participated in worldwide events to better the planet. As fans, we have all witnessed Chester’s extraordinary outgoing personality, making time for those in need. We have endless stories of his generosity, from visiting sick children in the hospital to bringing fans on stage from the “Make a Wish” Foundation to spending extra time at the Meet & Greets for fans. In his personal life, Chester supported MusiCares, PETA, and the Grammy Foundation as well. Simply put, Chester was a shining star in the music community because of his hospitality and unselfishness. And not only that - his lyrics and incredible voice have helped millions cope with their personal lives… from depression to abuse and more. At such a tragic time in the world, we cannot just sit and grieve. This is why we have decided to unite with our friends at 10 Years Association, who cover a band that Linkin Park introduced us to… 10 Years, to start a fundraising campaign for S.A.V.E. (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education). You can read more about SAVE here: https://save.org/who-we-are/ “SAVE was one of the nation’s first organizations dedicated to the prevention of suicide. Our work is based on the foundation and belief that suicide is preventable and everyone has a role to play in preventing suicide. Through raising public awareness, educating communities, and equipping every person with the right tools, we know we can SAVE lives.” The mission statement for SAVE reads, “To prevent suicide through public awareness and education, reduce stigma and serve as a resource to those touched by suicide.” Together, with the Linkin Park community, 10 Years community, and worldwide music base touched by this tragedy, we hope to raise awareness of the tragedy that is suicide and to provide a helping hand to a nonprofit who is able to effectively use their resources on a larger scale to truly assist those in need. In times like these, we need to be here for each other, lifting each other up… not just to listen to those in pain, but to offer assistance and a hand of support. We hope you will join our support for SAVE at the following link: LPLIVE AND 10 YEARS ASSOCIATION SUICIDE PREVENTION CAMPAIGN Additionally, both LPLive and 10 Years Association have Discord chats open for anyone who is suffering right now and wants someone to talk to. We have members from all over the world in our chat from Brazil to China and more. Please come to us if you are in a time of need. LPLive Discord 10 Years Association Discord Much love to everyone, and we are always one tweet, message, etc away for support.

No, they won't replace him. Just listen to Primo. "Just carry on and miss me when I'm gone, don't let anyone take my place." The 5 of them are too good at creating music to quit. Linkin Park (the name) is a brand. Known all over the world. They can easily continue on as 5 and honor Chester in whatever they do. Mike can take over on vocals and has proven that he can handle it no problem whatsoever. We don't need Mike singing OSC/BTH on tour but there are indeed songs he can do like Iridescent, Castle of Glass Experience, maybe stripped down LOATR, etc. It can be done for sure. They need to keep going, the world is devastated and needs the band. Some options include the new album having some Chester on it as they have hours of material with him in the vault, which I am not opposed to whatsoever. Full songs even from OML sessions exist, and I'm sure lots of stuff they can write around. But if they don't want to get into that, just start fresh. They can easily concoct an album with Mike + the other 4. They don't have to tour if they don't want to, like The Beatles. We will see. But I don't see them stopping Linkin Park for this.
