  1. Yeah C7 Thanks. I agree. I like it in just one set because it becomes special. FTI in one set, Papercut in one set, etc would make each set more special. If every set had all the same songs but they were just switched up, then there's not much to look forward to each show. Hopefully Wretches & Kings makes it back into one set this summer, or The Messenger. Maybe there's still a setlist they haven't played yet (A-1).
  2. Yeah but Blackout wouldn't be so special if it was in all of the setlists. That's like if Papercut or FTI or LFY was in every set...it'd get old.
  3. Great post! I'll see what I can do Thanks. It was when B13 was first made (in the USA this past winter) but it was dropped from B13 in Europe. It originally was in the place of Burning In The Skies but BITS replaced it in Europe, so Blackout replaced Shadow Of The Day in the other set (forgot the numbers, so confusing ) Also - glad to see Reading My Eyes over BIO return!
  4. I respect LPA and think they have a great site and really support what they do - I especially love their wiki. I look thru their gallery frequently and their tour section is actually unique and pretty cool with how it's set up. the GPS feature (that's what I call it anyway lol) is badass - the map is what I am referring to. They could have copied everything from here but they have a unique little thing going on over there that's pretty sweet. With that said.... The Joe posts I do agree are VERY similar to what I post. that'd be fine but I've been doing these for quite some time (again, no issue there) and it seems obvious to a lot of people that he is copying the posts we make in a way that makes it look like he isn't. videos, post structure (look at how they're both set up), the questions and all. The two are VERY similar and there is no denying that. I think both sites doing show stuff is cool (at first I was like wtf but now I think it's beneficial to both) but I really do see a problem with their posts. I'm afraid to bring it up to Derek or their staff though because I'm afraid they'll just blow up on me or something so I just say well screw it, let it go. People will post where they want to post. But if you think that goes unnoticed you're wrong because I've gotten several emails about it, at least 6 texts, one Facebook message and a personal confrontation with a site member over it. I could go in depth but to me it's very obvious he's trying to duplicate exactly what we post, or that's at least how it seems, due to how he structures his posts EXACTLY like ours and how the end result is almost a carbon copy (well, abbreviated a bit because we know I like to ramble on and on about stuff) of what we post. I did see they post theirs a little faster than us but it's never been a race in my opinion so that's not a big deal. We get ours up when I want them to get up (for example, 2 days before a show is a bit too soon - I wait until the day before). I appreciate you bringing it up but I don't think they'll change anything just because the posts look similar. I wouldn't put it past him to get his ideas from my posts but I'm not going to point fingers here, I'm just going to say in my opinion it's a little low to make posts exactly like we do when they have told me they don't want things to be a "competition" at all - and that's what it now seems like, or what it seems like they're trying to make it into. I have a lot of respect for them and I love LPA, I log on their forums all the time, but I do think the post situation is a bit over the top and crosses that line.... /2 cents
  5. LP tackles their second German show of the tour and their eight overall show of the summer in Oberursel, Germany at the Hessentagsarena. Oberursel will be the third Projekt Revolution show of the tour. This is the first time that LP's Projekt Revolution show has overlapped with a local festival, interestingly enough. Hessentag is a local festival in Germany and LP is bringing their PR show to it in Oberursel, a city they have never played before in Germany. This is the third city in a row on the tour that LP has never played before, following Helsinki and Leipzig. Support for this show includes Die Antwoord, Dredg, Middle Class Rut, and Anberlin. The talk of the fans right now happens to be how 'Blackout' made a surprise return to the setlist last night in Leipzig, Germany! LP was playing Set C5 (later named C6, and now named C7 for this show) earlier this year - take a look here - but the surprise is that 'Shadow Of The Day' has been swapped for 'Blackout'! This is good, well great actually, considering that the one set 'Blackout' was in that they were still playing (view here) `had it dropped in favor of 'Burning In The Skies'. Anyway, check out a video of it below from Leipzig: So what do you guys think? Are you happy 'Blackout' has returned? Are there any other songs you'd like to see the band randomly throw in? What about if they just popped in 'With You' (like Mike mentioned in his recent surprise LPU chat) into a setlist? Do you think we have seen all of the sets that they'll be using on this tour? Or will they have another one? Will 'New Divide' ever open again? Who's going to Oberursel? M&G for anyone? Will anyone be Tweeting the setlist at all? Will LP repeat this set in Oberursel or will they rotate? What do you guys think about the shows, the sets and the overall energy of the band this tour? I personally think LP has more energy on this tour than they've had in a while (possibly the entire A Thousand Suns touring cycle). The crowds are HUGE and really good on this tour (shoutout to Stockholm here) and the band is really feeding off of them well, which I believe makes them perform better with more passion and intensity. Do you agree? Remember, if you are going to this show to check out the LPLive Meet & Greet! The rest of the 2011 tour dates can be found here, as well as show pages, setlists and more from other shows this year. SETLIST: 01. The Requiem 02. Faint 03. Lying From You 04. Given Up 05. Thanks to Thomas aka BlackChester for the live updates!
  6. Well they just pulled SOTD for BLACKOUT so, you're wrong lol!
  7. Na not out of proportion. It goes along with the notion that ONE SONG being added into the set can please everyone. That's a fact, if you want to admit it or not. Blackout being added REALLY works well for the hardcore fans. People love it. If they swapped in another fan favorite song in another set, it'd get the same reaction. This is badass. I don't know if this came as a result of the LPU chat with Mike yesterday or not, but regardless it's awesome. Can't wait for a DSP. I'd flip my shit if I was at the show, fell asleep during WJL/Iridescent and then BLACKOUT came on lol. AWESOME, thanks LP for changing it up. These are great sets.
  8. Blackout soundcheck! Third set today
  9. Yeah they've been doing this since the DBS shows in 2009.
  10. A ton did but he avoided a lot of questions.
  11. Cool chat. He shut me down big time for asking about his latest blog post though lol, he sounded so pissed. He said they'd spice it up with 1 or 2 songs. I like it. That's the second time in a year he's mentioned 'With You'. I think he'd like to play it again. But he also loves playing all the big singles. I think 'Blackout' is in their third set, maybe they'll play it in Leipzig. He made it sound like it's in a setlist but it just hasn't been played yet.
  12. Mike just hopped into the LPU chat as a surprise and talked about a LOT of stuff LPL members would like to hear! I took notes in Notepad after asking a few questions that didn't get answered (no problem though) so I thought I'd post the setlist questions you guys would like to hear since he addressed a lot of it. Here we go: - Why don't you play 'Blackout'? "We are trying to tighten the sets we have right now. We want to wrap our heads around the sets we have right now, which is why we play it a few times at first to get familiar with it again." - Why don't you play old songs like 'And One', 'High Voltage' and stuff? "I know you like to see them, but especially when we play a festival, big groups of people that aren't all "super LP fans", they aren't familiar with those songs. We want to play a show that's entertaining to as many people as possible. At our shows (not festivals), it's a little different. It's a vote between all 6 members and songs get voted out. But some songs, like 'With You' has a better chance of getting back in the setlist than 'QWERTY'. 'Somewhere I Belong' has a better chance than 'Rhinestone' or 'PB N Jellyfish'." - Why don't you play 'No Roads Left'? "We played it in practice once or twice and it doesn't really sound good. We'll add a song or two to the set at some point to spice it up. I know some people want to see certain songs. As we make more albums, it'd be fun to switch it up, but if we played 'Easier To Run' and didn't play 'New Divide', people would be like "They didn't play 'New Divide', what the fuck". If we didn't play 'Papercut', people would be like "What the hell." He had everyone type their favorite LP song. I responded "Figure.09"...a few others said 'Easier To Run', etc which prompted Mike to say "No, I mean a song that, if you didn't hear at a Linkin Park show, you'd be like "What the fuck." People said 'Papercut', 'In The End', etc and he said "See?" - What are your touring plans after Asia? "After Asia I don't really know what we are doing tour-wise. We're not looking at touring for a record anymore. We have family stuff and writing and we split it all up. We space it all out. We don't do it like most bands - make a record then tour then make another record then tour again. Now we go back and forth because it works better for us." Awesome! What do you guys think?
  13. Did you not see the recent shit with Lethal acting like a 5 year old baby on Twitter attacking LP?
  14. Oh you're sneaky How about this one Mrs Lobster? lol!!
  15. It's possible this really is from 2009. Why would it say 2009 and not 2011? I'm sure the 2011 one will get aired somewhere but this says 2009.
  16. Completely agree with this. I'd consider No More Sorrow the only song in the setlist that isn't a single besides the new songs. Papercut had a video made for it - wasn't it a European single? From The Inside was a single. Lying From You was a single. Ouch lol. We're like 1 song away from it being all singles + new songs. Long live NMS?
  17. Even with the sunburn?
  18. This is amazing I love it. The background is great, you nailed the LP font, the effects rock. Solid entry!
  19. I think they're doing what they did in Europe in early 2008. Show 1: Set 1 Show 2: Set 1 - Show 3: Set 2 Show 4: Set 2 - Show 5: Set 3 Show 6: Set 3 Then 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 I hope. Hopefully they do B11 with New Divide opening but I'm not holding my breath. A-1 was in Europe at every show last year so that'd be sad if Germany got that one AGAIN lol. Maybe they'll do a new one or something. Regardless I hope 'Blackout' is in there and if they top it off with 'Wretches & Kings' mid-set, that'd be cool. .....and then 'A Place For My Head'. Haha na, it'd never happen
  20. As you can see by my goofy appearance in the picture above, we've held some pretty cool meetups with fans in Germany over the past few tours. Starting in 2009, we did little "LPL M&Gs" at the box office after each LP show and Dead By Sunrise show in the country and needless to say, they've been pretty successful in my opinion. I participated in Graz, Switzerland, Stuttgart and Gräfenhainichen in 2009 and met some REALLY cool people. We spent the night in train stations, parks, and went out to eat at local McDonalds, Burger Kings, etc and basically just had a bunch of fun after the shows meeting each other and hanging out until we part ways to the next show. Once we even had a barbeque in a field in the rain with a bunch of people! Cool people like Ana from Germany, Mike from Poland or Stefano from Switzerland were introduced to us (at least me) this way so if you have the time, stop by, see the LPLive staff after the show, meet some new friends, hang out and take a picture! WHAT: LPLive Meet & Greets WHEN: AFTER the shows in Germany on the 2011 European Tour - Leipzig, Oberursel, Hamburg, & München WHERE: Box office (aka "Abendkasse"). There is always one at every show, even outdoor shows, so be sure to find it! In Oberursel for example, it's next to the entrance on the right side. WHY: To meet some hardcore Linkin Park fans, hang out and have some fun! Be sure and stop by! Comment below if you plan on attending and/or want more information! Have fun!
  21. On the 18th, Linkin Park plays in Leipzig, Germany at the Festwiese. This is a pretty cool venue (image here) so perhaps this is why they are hosting their second Projekt Revolution show of 2011 there! One thing you need to know about the venue is that there are no seats - it's all standing. An interesting note is that this is the second show in a row for the band where they have never played in that city before. 2011 marks the first time LP has played in both Helsinki, Finland as well as Leipzig. Oddly enough, these are the first two shows all year where the band hasn't played in a city on the current tour before. I believe the last city that was new to them was Canberra, Australia last December. Guano Apes, Anberlin, dredg, and Middle Class Rut are on the bill for this edition of Projekt Revolution. 75,000 people can fit at this outdoor venue, so let's see how many show up for Linkin Park! The video for today comes from the Helsinki show and it's 'Burning In The Skies' (disregard the incorrect video title by the uploader). Why did I pick this one? I picked this video for today because this is the only time I've ever seen anyone jump on the choruses of the song. Europe, you really impress me with your crowds! This is the first show in Germany in 2011. In 2010, LP kicked off their European Tour in Germany and sold out five shows (Berlin, Stuttgart, Köln, Hamburg, and Frankfurt) there so a sixth show (Dortmund) was requested by the promoter (MLK). The first five German shows in 2010 were the first shows to be announced for "A Thousand Suns", being announced all the way back in June (see the press release here). LP played thirteen shows in the country on the Minutes To Midnight touring cycle (2007-2009), so Germany is a force to be fucking reckoned with. Three more shows in Germany are left on this tour. Projekt Revolution continues on the 19th in Oberursel at the Hessentagsarena and ends in München at the Messegelände München Riem on the 25th. In between those shows, LP hosts another LPU Summit in Hamburg on the 21st and plays in Moscow for the Transformers 3 Premiere on the 23rd at the almighty Red Square. When this tour kicked off in the US, the band played two similar sets in Irvine (show page here) and Mountain View (show page here), and then kept the Mountain View set for the first two shows in Europe at NovaRock and Download. In Stockholm (show page here) and Helsinki (show page here), LP stuck with their B13 set with 'Burning In The Skies' instead of 'Blackout' in there. Since they've rotated after the first two Europe shows, do you think they'll rotate again now for Leipzig? What songs would you like to see? Will they play 'Wretches & Kings' at all on this tour? Or their famous Set A-1 that they played in Europe last year? Or will they stick with B13 again? Do you think we'll see 'Blackout' again this year? Someone should request 'Reading My Eyes' over 'Bleed It Out' at a M&G or something else cool if you guys want to see them change something up. Who's headed out to Leipzig? Surely a good amount of people from LPLive since the hardcore German (and surrounding countries) fans usually turn out in big numbers for the shows! Did anyone score a M&G with LP? Is anyone going to be live-updating the set as LP plays? All of the upcoming 2011 tour dates as well as show pages, setlists, ticket stubs and more from earlier in the tour and the year can be found here. Also, if you have ticket stubs for Helsinki or Stockholm, send them in! pics@lplive.net - We're trying to get a ticket for every 2011 show! And hopefully the DSP's from the first few shows start getting released soon! Check those out here. SETLIST: 01. The Requiem 02. Papercut 03. Lying From You 04. Given Up 05. What I've Done 06. Bleed It Out 'Blackout' has returned! What do you guys think?
  22. Yeah I can still tell Pooch fades stuff mid-song in the 2011 shows.
  23. This. Come on, there's 6 people in this band that totally think differently. If Chester doesn't like OSC or ITE like he did in 2000, do you think that matters? Or if he doesn't like Runaway? 6 people all have different ideas of what they like and don't like and they all have to come together and agree on SOMETHING to do live. I'm sure there's songs in the set right now that each person hates to play live. Maybe Phoenix hates Numb or Chester hates BTH like he said or Brad hates Lying From You. I'm sure starting with their first setlist ever they were arguing about what to play because face it, there's no way all 6 of them agree perfectly on what to play. If each member was to make their own setlist I'm sure it'd be TOTALLY different. But LP still plays stuff because they have to have some sort of setlist but it seems the general consensus among the band is: - Play the singles (as many as possible) because most of the fans at shows want to hear those (came directly from Mike's mouth from an LPU chat) - Play the new stuff (likely they all want to play the new songs because they're fun - WTCFM, Blackout, etc) - Don't play non-album / b-side stuff. The only two tracks we got like that were High Voltage and My December and that is because LP rose to success so damn fast that they had to have more material to play live because they suddenly had one commercially released album and had to headline tours and 12,000 person venues. This is probably why Step Up and And One were in there, along with the fact that they probably liked one or two of those songs lol. - Occasionally play something random that they like - My December in 2003/2006/2008, Reading My Eyes in 2006/2008, A Place For My Head in 2008, Pushing Me Away in 2008. They randomly play a few things here and there that don't fit the above formula - probably because one or two members say "hey, let's try something old like RME" or "hey, let's do APFMH again for the hell of it, why not" etc. But this likely won't happen for all the songs we want to hear like Figure.09, With You, etc. I bet they stick with these North American sets the rest of the year and we won't see anything "random" like By Myself or anything until the full fledged next big tour for the NEXT album (Projekt Revolution?). That's just how I see it anyway.
  24. Because BTH has been played at almost every show since it was first incorporated into the setlist in 2003 and it's a GOOD thing it's taking a break. Dropping singles is a GREAT thing. People are like ZOMG WHERE IS SOMEWHERE I BELONG on this tour but if SIB was indeed in the set they'd be all like OMG SIB IS ALWAYS PLAYED, PLZ DROP IT, OMG. Happens with every single they try and rotate. Fuck, even SOTD gets dropped and people are like "But I loooooooove SOTD :(" Happened with LOATR, SIB, POA, everything. Dropping SOTD, LOATR, SIB, POA, BTH is a good thing for me. I'd rather hear something different. I mean I know the set now doesn't have anything different in there but this is better than nothing. I've seen BTH at every LP show I've ever seen so I can take a break from seeing it. I'd be the happiest man in the world if they dropped Numb. Dropping singles is the first step in getting other stuff in there. I am so glad LP is actually getting tired of playing certain songs. I thought that'd never come with how many singles they actually play lol. BTH, SOTD, LOATR, SIB and POA disappearing is a great thing in my opinion even though I mean I like every single one of those songs, but I'd LOVE them to play something we DON'T have a DSP of. Reading My Eyes, A Place For My Head (again, even though we have DSPs, face it - people fucking love that song, me included), Figure.09, With You, Forgotten, By Myself, Hit The Floor, Easier To Run, Nobody's Listening. Anything like that would just be epic and even though it's unlikely right now, you never know, and in my opinion LP dropping singles from the set randomly is the first step in getting there. Plus, it's not like they really are getting rid of BTH, it's in every set but one and people are flipping shit. Come on, it's had a million different intros and outros and it's time it takes a break.
  25. 2013 I mean. No way 2012 I've been through this shit with the past two albums and I know they can't turn around and make a new CD that quickly. Remember when we got pics of Mike in a studio in Prague in 2008 and we were like OMG NEW LP ALBUM IN 2008? Then it was 2009, even Mike in the Lockjaw video says 2009. Then it was September 2010 and that was only because the label FORCED them to have it out then (no joke, watch the DVD). MTM was 2005, 2006, then 2007. This will be 2011, 2012 and come out in 2013, promise.
