28.06.2011 - Ardenal, Norway - Hove Festival
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Previous Show Discussion
Oh sorry! Thanks for the catch I meant to say one of the largest European festivalS I think top 5? -
Linkin Park continues their summer European Tour in Ardenal, Norway at Tromøya, an island outside of the city, for the Hove Festival on the 28th. This is LP's first ever appearance in Norway. In June 2003, they were on the bill for the Norwegian Wood Festival in Oslo, Norway but the band was forced to cancel that entire tour due to Chester being injured. When they returned to Europe that year in the fall they unfortunately didn't make that show up and the 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 European tours didn't touch down in Norway, so this is the first time the band will perform in the country. The Hove Festival was started in 2007 and had over 72,000 attendees, making it the biggest festival in the country. On the 26th in Imola, Italy, LP performed a setlist called "B_NO_ENCORE", which is a shortened version of their B16 setlist that debuted in Stockholm (show page here) earlier in the tour. The Imola set cut out 'Burning In The Skies', 'Fallout', and 'Shadow Of The Day'. This falls in line with what LP was doing for the first few festivals of this tour in Europe (like in Nickelsdorf - show page here) by playing their setlist "C_NO ENCORE_FESTIVAL" - a shortened setlist for just festivals with no encore break. Here's a pretty good video of 'The Requiem' and 'Faint' opening the show in Imola: Since LP has only festivals left on this tour, will they omit the encore break at the rest of the European shows? They have performed shortened setlists of two of their sets they've been playing in Europe, but not their C7 set (Stockholm's show page here with that) yet. Will 'Blackout', which is in that setlist, make it into consideration for the shortened form of C7? Or will LP only stick with the two festival sets they've already played? Do you think it's odd seeing 'In The End' and 'Bleed It Out' so high up in the set with no encore break and 'Papercut' so low, or do you welcome the small change? Would you like to see LP swap positions of any other songs in the set like they did with 'Numb' in the #3 spot in 2006 (Osaka show page here)? Who is going to see the Hove Festival? Has anyone gotten a M&G for the show? The festival program indicates that 30 Seconds To Mars, All Time Low, Jimmy Eat World and Blood Command will be opening for Linkin Park on the "Hovescenen" - the main stage. On the 30th, Linkin Park plays Rock Werchter in Belgium, one of the largest music festivals in Europe. Three shows in July in Arras, France, St. Gallen, Switzerland and London, England wrap up their seventeen show Summer Tour. For all of the 2011 tour and show information, click here. DSP's for Irvine, Nickelsdorf, Donington, Stockholm and Helsinki are now up here. Where's Mountain View?! For more information on the summer DSP's, click here. SETLIST: 01. The Requiem 02. 26.06.2011 - Imola, Italy - Sonisphere

They played one in Irvine. Nope, Mountain View, Nickelsdorf and Donington didn't have one. -
If they can't help you at all then we've got you covered, no worries Let me know.
-
That sucks Did you email Basecamp? Or how did you get your DSP code? Did it come with your ticket or something? Not sure how you got it.

I just grabbed this. Thanks for the quick turnaround! Great quality. -
Happened in Europe in 2010 with it at a show and it was fixed. Happened in Sunrise in 2011, I told Pooch just leave it because that's how it was performed....it was left alone! I dunno if he did it because I mentioned it to him while he was editing it or if he saw the feedback here or what. But I guess they'll stop fixing it now. I noticed it at Stockholm too; I'll note it on the show page. We need Donington and Helsinki if anyone has them. I have more codes left (from the US tour) but I'd like to save them for Asia because I'm sure it'll be really difficult to get those compared to Europe. I got Irvine, Nickelsdorf and Stockholm and put them all up so if someone could help us out with the other 2 that are out it'd be appreciated. I'm not trying to be selfish but I got 3 and I thought this would like incite people to help out that either went to the show or that had extra codes laying around, etc I can get them if need be but surely someone that went to those shows bought them......?
-
No. You can put the code in immediately starting the second you get the code and it'll work if it's a legit code. It has nothing to do with when it becomes available. I will give you the show if you don't have a code or got screwed...no problem. Or email them first and see what they can do.

Thanks so much for the setlist picture! -
Not sure why they didn't do an Irvine one. Listening to Stockholm now, best one of the tour for me so far. I skipped Donington and Helsinki for now, I really wanted to hear the Stockholm crowd lol.
-
Logged into the download site today and the cover image for NovaRock was ready for me to download. Looks shitty as usual but it's up. I didn't get a KROQ one though so I guess they said fuck Irvine lol. WTF. I emailed support about Mountain View and what happened to it. Hope they reply. Here's the Austria DSP cover. Fucking spelled it wrong man, come on LP. http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/5738/coveryuv.jpg

Donington, Stockholm and Helsinki are up.
-
NovaRock is available. You bought it online? If you log in it should say "You have files ready to download". I have NovaRock if that doesn't work. WTF @ the DSP's taking so long. Yeah the crowd noise problem hasn't been fixed sadly. The worst ones are the 2nd and 3rd DSPs ever, the 2007 ones from California. Holy shit! Go listen to what I mean, the mixing of the songs where Pooch just CRANKS UP THE CROWD REALLY LOUD FOR 2 SECONDS and then back down makes the song sound so bad Thankfully now it's not as bad but it's still there to a degree like you said. But I promise it was way worse. Regardless of how they are mixed, I hope we get the European summer 2008 tour DSPs. And anything else the band recorded...Rock am Ring 2007, etc.

That'd be cool. BIO w/ ext intro, RME, drum solo, APFMH, singalong / BIO chorus singalong, ext outro, slow->long outro jam - 15 min long Bleed It Out lol

On the 26th Linkin Park returns to Italy, where they haven't played since 2008. They will be headlining the 2011 Sonisphere Festival in Imola, which is just southeast of Bologna and almost in the middle of the country. I'd say it's about the same distance from Milano to the northwest and Roma to the southwest. Anyway, enough with my attempts at Italian geography, haha. History time. LP first performed in Italia in Milano on March 6, 2001 on the Deftones' European Tour (my, that's a common tour to reference on this 2011 European tour) at the Palavobis. They returned in September (show page here) to headline the Rolling Stone Arena in Milano. That show was proshot and six songs were shown on MTV. to watch 'With You' (scroll around YouTube to find the rest because it's a great performance). Linkin Park played their very first show in 2003 on the LPU Tour in Milano at Alcatraz (show page here), debuting a lot of Meteora songs for the first time. They skipped Italy on the 2003 and 2004 European Tours (both of the ones in 2003 - the canceled one and the one that was actually played) and returned in 2007 to headline the Heineken Jammin' Festival in Venice. Unfortunately the show was CANCELED the day of the show due to terrible storms and LP thankfully returned in 2008 to make it up (show page here). This is the first show in Italy for "A Thousand Suns" so this makes it LP's fifth show in the country. In 2008, our friend JomJom showed up at the festival M&G with a Xero tape and asked the band to play 'Reading My Eyes'. I believe he said Mike was on board but Chester shot the idea down of adding it to their "Z" setlist at the time since it was only in one of the three sets they were playing on that tour (obviously not the one scheduled for Venice that day). He did, however, succeed in getting Mike to rap 'Reading My Eyes' over 'Bleed It Out' for the FIRST time that day so I believe we can all thank him for what has become a cool thing Mike has been doing ever since - randomly throwing 'Reading My Eyes' over 'Bleed It Out' when requested at shows (even on this tour a few times). Thanks man! Here's a video of the first time this happened. Wow, we sure would like a DSP of that! *wink wink @ LP mgmt* Anyway, LP has been playing a few different sets on this tour. The DSP pics for NovaRock's show indicate that the band has a setlist for their festival shows only called "C_NO ENCORE FESTIVAL", which can be viewed at the Download Festival show page here. There haven't been any festivals outside of Projekt Revolution since the first two shows of the tour so it's possible they'll resort to this setlist for Imola especially since Italy hasn't gotten a show for "A Thousand Suns" yet. It's possible though that they'll keep rotating their sets because they have SIX festival shows left in a row to finish this tour. We'll just have to see! What we do know is that 'Wretches & Kings' and 'The Messenger' haven't made appearances on this tour yet (outside of 'The Messenger' being played acoustically in Hamburg for the LPU Summit). Perhaps these songs have been dropped for the rest of the touring cycle? Or will they add those and maybe 'Robot Boy' to a setlist later on this tour or in Asia this fall? The last show in München got the same setlist as Hamburg (show page here) earlier in the tour. 'Iridescent' has returned to it's normal album version live so this likely indicates that the remix version will only be played once. Hopefully the Moscow Intro to 'New Divide' returns at some point though! Who is going to Imola's Sonisphere Festival? Did anyone get a M&G? Jom? LP plays in Ardenal, Norway on the 28th for the Hove Festival for their next show. For the 2011 touring schedule, click here. Setlist: 01. The Requiem 02. Faint 03. Lying From You 04. Given Up 05. What I've Done 06. No More Sorrow 07. From The Inside 08. Jornada Del Muerto 09. Waiting For The End 10. Numb 11. The Radiance 12. Iridescent 13. The Catalyst 14. In The End 15. Bleed It Out ('A Place For My Head' bridge) 16. Empty Spaces 17. When They Come For Me 18. Papercut 19. New Divide 20. Crawling 21. One Step Closer Setlist picture from Nameless here.

Iridescent album version Had to post Imola early at the request of someone that is going that wanted to see the thread up No problem!
-
Yeah C7 again. Hope some more DSP's come out soon.
-
Same. It's just someone's opinion. You can't get in trouble for that if he isn't being offensive. He's cool but I disagree with his stance here. LOL @ KATHYxx. Epic.

LP is writing in August and September. They won't tour between Europe and Asia. Maybe 2 months after Asia they'll do more US stuff. Who knows. If you look a few posts above yours, you'll see someone said it's on DIME. -
Yeah it's cool but I really hate how they sample those vocals live. They can't even give it their best shot, it's all sampled. But I don't know if when they LOOK like they're singing it if they are really lipsynching (mic muted) or what. Chaz, Mike and Phx might really be singing over it but I really can't tell from this video OR a DSP so I really do think they are lipsynching. I know Chester isn't when that one part comes in and he gets higher - "let it GO-OOOO-OOO-OOO" etc, that's clearly him but the gang vocals are definitely sampled. Dislike.

Thanks SO much for the tickets. Helsinki was the only show we had no ticket for so far and the Moscow ones will greatly help. You're awesome -

Can you post those? We'd love to add them to the show page if possible. Yeah PR in the USA has a better bill and more stuff, two stages, tons of bands, big tour, etc but in Europe there's way more people. You'd love a PR show here, they're awesome. I dunno if LP will ever do them again (SO surprised there's not one this year) though -

Awesome thanks Is this the only thing you had to have to get in? Was there a ticket? -
I find it odd it's missing too. Email Basecamp about it. Pooch said at the Summit that as of that day, he had mixed everything thru Stockholm. So now he's probably done with Leipzig and maybe Oberursel. Mountain View WAS up but it got taken down for some reason. Perhaps it's just an error on their part or something. I think an email to Basecamp is the best solution. It seems the company is really slow though. If Pooch has mixed thru Stockholm then where is Mountain View, Download and Stockholm? lol. Oh well, patience is appreciated I guess. For Australia 2010 I don't know what the problem was, I think Basecamp was slow there too. There isn't an LP-related problem with MV as far as I know or else Pooch would have mentioned it @ the Summit.
-
Yep. December 2009, Pooch: I asked him if LP was going to release Europe 2008. "LP is releasing every single show they played on the last tour as a DSP. So shows not previously available will now be available. We will be mixing the shows we have not mixed yet the first part of January so I imagine that those shows will be posted soon after that." But Europe 2008 wasn't posted for some reason. Maybe it'll get released one day like Australia 2007.
