23.06.2011 - Moscow, Russia - Transformers 3 Premiere
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Previous Show Discussion
US crowds just stand around for the most part. I have only been to one show where the crowd was just going crazy - my first one - Atlanta 2007. People dancing in the aisles, people on top of seats, random people high fiving me, place bouncing. The crowd really went off on OSC. And it was an amphitheatre so it was surprising to me. But no crowd has really struck me as awesome in the US since then. Then I saw LP in Europe. Graz was really good, the crowd was SO loud, Pooch turned up the sound in there loud as shit and I had a great time. Zurich was a good performance but there were sound restrictions and the LPU M&G people put us in the BACK of the crowd so I couldn't really see very well and didn't have that good of a time. Stuttgart came and I was pretty anxious seeing it was going to be a huge outdoor show - I thought 30,000 would attend. I believe over 45,000 attended. I met up with a lot of really cool people before the show. I was able to get in the front section for the show too. During the first few songs I just stood right in front of FOH (Session thru half of SIB) but once I saw the crowd was going nuts, I mean just crazy I decided to run into the middle of the crowd during SIB. NMS came and everyone around me moved and a big mosh pit just opened up right there where I was. The intro was going and like 30 people were just bouncing around in this pit...song kicks in and the place goes OFF. I was like holy shit this is the most fun I've ever had seeing LP, because the 5 times before that people didn't ACT like that when the band was playing. The band was really feeding off the crowd, Chester yelling STUTTGART after SIB, the crowd chanting the band's name loud as hell, the crowd chanting MIKE SHINODA after Numb, Chester screaming at the end of POA, etc. I attached a few pictures of the crowd. The place was rocking the entire show. It was the first DBS show so I guess DBS threw a lot of people off, so when New Divide came, everyone went INSANE. Faint was next, and by the bridge I thought I was literally going to die because so much dust was being kicked up I couldn't breathe lol. Smashed in between so many people. Then OSC hit and everyone just lost it. It was like insanity, more insanity then batshit crazy. It was SO much fun. It took at least half an hour to even get out of the crowd because of how many people were there. I've never seen fans enjoy a show that much. There really is no comparison. You can see LP here but it's NOTHING like that. The European people are just awesome. They want to travel with you to shows, they want to hang out with you AFTER the shows for hours and hours. Go eat at random places, walk around town, just hang out. In the US you don't get that - people just go immediately home after the show. I've seen 4 shows in Europe and 8 in the US and I've met every LP friend I've made AT a show in Europe except 1. That's saying a lot. There's a sense of community regarding European fans and the band. So now I really do understand why LP loves playing Germany all the time. They should just do a German tour separate from a European tour, lol, I mean it's that great. I guess Euro/German fans don't really understand that because they've probably never seen crowds so still for LP. I'm proud to have seen two shows there and I'd love to return! -
On the 25th, Linkin Park hosts their last Projekt Revolution show of the year in München, Germany (or as many of you call it, Munich). This will be the fourth and final German show of the tour (the country has more shows than any other country on the tour) and likely the last show in Germany for the "A Thousand Suns" touring cycle. LP first performed in München in 2001 on the Deftones' European Tour (show page here) for their second German show ever. They returned to headline in the fall of 2001 (show page here) and then did not return to the city until 2008. They hosted their first Projekt Revolution in Europe in München in 2008 (show page here) at the Reitstadion Riem. At the time, Chester said it was the largest Projekt Revolution ever. That makes this the fourth show in the city! I can't go any further because München in 2008 got a pretty rare song live - the almighty 'Reading My Eyes'! Wouldn't it be nice if they added it back to the setlist? Hopefully LP management releases the European summer tour 2008 DSP's sometime in the future (we're still hoping) so we can hear 'Reading My Eyes' and all of the awesome moments on that tour. Anyway, at the last show in Moscow (show page here), the band changed up a few things for the Transformers 3 Premiere at the Red Square: - ' - - The Russian fans held several flash mobs - on & 'Wisdom, Justice, & Love', and on ("where oceans bleed into the sky"). Even Michael Bay got hit by the confetti! He went into the crowd on 'The Catalyst' to take some pictures and was "confetti'd". Nice job with the flash mobs you guys! I've personally never seen that at an LP show before so I bet the band was REALLY surprised and happy to see it. Now with that said, what do you guys think of Moscow Intro and the 'Iridescent' remix live? It seems the general consensus of Moscow Intro is "Uhh, why is this not opening a setlist? This is AWESOME!" while the 'Iridescent' remix has received mixed reviews. Which do you prefer? Would you like to see LP keep the remix in the setlist or should they go back to the album version? Would you like to see 'New Divide' w/ Moscow Intro open a show in one of the setlists? What if one of the sets with 'The Requiem' and 'Papercut' opening was replaced with it? What set do you think we'll get for München? Fans have already said that the crowds on this tour have been amazing compared to previous tours. München will be no exception. is an interview with LP from 2007 where Chester says that the band plays better when the crowd reacts more to the show. Support for this show will include the same lineup as Leipzig (show page here) earlier in the tour: Dredg, Middle Class Rut, Anberlin, and Guano Apes. Who's going to the München show at Messegelände München Riem? Is there anyone that has been to all four German shows on this tour? Does anyone have a M&G with the band? If you are attending, don't forget the LPLive Meet & Greet after the show! On the 26th, Linkin Park plays Imola, Italy for the Sonisphere Festival. Five shows remain after that on the 2011 European Tour. Find everything you need regarding any 2011 shows here. SETLIST: 01. The Requiem 02. Papercut 03. Lying From You 04. Given Up 05. What I've Done 06. Empty Spaces 07. When They Come For Me 08. No More Sorrow 09. Jornada del Muerto 10. Waiting For The End 11. Burning In The Skies 12. Numb 13. The Radiance (Live Version) 14. Breaking The Habit 15. Fallout 16. The Catalyst 17. Crawling 18. Faint 19. One Step Closer --------------------- 20. Wisdom, Justice, & Love 21. Iridescent 22. Blackout 23. New Divide 24. In The End 25. Bleed It Out (w/ Reading My Eyes, drum solo, & A Place For My Head)

I'm not against Russia but to be completely honest, I think the website bazinga!.com is a total fucking joke. Very disrespectful staff that steals content from other sites without giving credit, etc. From what I saw (correct me if I am wrong) THEY hosted this flash mob and organized it so to see it fail during the wrong song is hilarious to me. In terms of the Russian fans, you guys seem pretty badass. From the videos I see each show of the Russian crowds, you guys really bring it each show and are LOUD and energetic. There looked to be clapping on almost every song yesterday. Pretty cool stuff to see the crowd interact so well. The actual flash mob is a great idea and doing it during WJL was a great idea but to me it just makes me laugh when they did it for the wrong song. The Catalyst one is awesome and the signs on WJL are great. What a cool thing to do during an LP show, they've never seen that before probably. -
I understand the points everyone has made so far. I read everything in this thread before replying. Ravok I understand you. It's not necessarily the guy's fault because he honestly might not have known. I fully understand that part of the argument. LP/Warner needs to make this right. Like KATHYxx said, if they just leave this alone, this further encourages cheating in the future whether the guy meant to or not. They should be the bigger man and fix this. Explain what happened and pick another one. And then my personal opinion of the graphic: Cool graphic but I was surprised to see the MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT logo on there. This is A Thousand Suns and the band was so keen on having the ATS circle LP logo on stuff so I was shocked to see the MTM one. I knew when this contest started that an amazing graphic wouldn't win because it's too easy to pick something random, etc. The deviantArt post as well as the other posts in this thread contain AWESOME images. I guess the best person doesn't always win in this case but I definitely see ones out there that destroy what won. But that might be the favorite of the band, you never know so you have to respect it
-
KATHYxx found an article worth bringing up from deviantArt - read here. It appears that the winner of the 'Iridescent' artwork contest that Linkin Park recently held may have broken the rules. "Right so.. We all know they had a contest going on. Most of you even submitted entries to this contest. A few simple Rules: - One per person - TF3 has to be included - No watermarks from the user - Has to be 1200x1200 or higher - Submission Deadline June 12th" Click here for the pictures the post refers to when they say that the winner has submitted EIGHT images to the contest. "Most of the entries were correctly done within the rules. Some uploaded more then what they should of (they just didnt read) but - this guy won it? So why did we spend all of our time on one submission when they wouldn't of bothered looking through them properly?" What do you guys think about this?

Edited the show page. Looks like OSC really was dropped. Yeah the ND intro breakdown situation sounds great. -

Go see Linkin Park in Germany and you'll change your mind. AWESOME fans, really badass crowds and great pits. In Stuttgart in 2009 I was right in the middle of a huge pit on No More Sorrow when it kicked in. Great great times. -

Yeah they should change one of the sets that Papercut opens and let New Divide open. Their "festival" set should have ND opening maybe. Or if not then the other one. That intro rules. That'd be cool to have in a set instead of Requiem. Or if they want to have Requiem, have ND open an encore again like 2009 and use this new Moscow Intro. Hope it's not the last time we see Moscow Intro! -

Russia fail Not a fan of the remix anyway, hell I'm not even a fan of IRIDESCENT lol so I don't really care what they do. I guess if they add this to the set it's something different but it does have less energy. I fall asleep during either one so it's not a big deal I'd rather them drop Iridescent altogether and replace it with Rolling In The Deep acoustic to start the encore or something. -

Probably so but don't you have trains that go everywhere? When I was in Frankfurt and went to see LP in Graz, Zurich, Stuttgart and Grafenhainichen, we took trains everywhere. -

It's not nuts when you're seeing your favorite band in the world, in your entire life. It's SO worth it. This year we literally drove from Tampa to ATL, took a 2 hour nap then went to the venue at 11am and spent the entire day there even though LP didn't go on for 10 hours. Linkin Park is a great thing. If I lived in the northeast I'd act like Sal and go to like 8 shows a tour. -

No, not very unusual?? 2008 we drove 3 hours from Charlotte to ATL then the next day 9 hours to West Palm Beach. This year we drove 10 hours to Miami from ATL. Both years we did overnight drives of 9 hours back from Tampa to ATL for back to back shows. -

Same. I thought it was going to be webcasted. Badass Papercut performance from Moscow in 2007 with Chester jumping from a speaker: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgvUclpLYVA...feature=related -
I would guess that as well. I was interested in seeing what they planned, at least.

Linkin Park will be playing at the Red Square in Moscow, Russia on the 23rd for the premiere of Transformers: Dark Of The Moon. This is the band's first appearance in Russia in two years. In 2007, they played there for the first time, playing St. Petersburg (show page here) for the Tuborg Greenfest and Moscow (show page here) on their European Tour. In 2009, they returned to St. Petersburg (show page here) for the Greenfest again, so this will be the fourth LP performance in Russia and the second in Moscow. In 2009, LP kicked off their summer touring by playing the Transformers 2 premiere in Los Angeles, CA (show page here). Six songs were played at that show, and 'New Divide' made it's live debut. Well, of course it did since it was the THEME SONG for the Transformers 2 movie! LP has contributed to all three Transformers movies - 'What I've Done' in the first one and the 'Iridescent' remix in the latest one, but they wrote 'New Divide' specifically for the Transformers 2 movie in early 2009. My video for this post was going to be the 'New Divide' live premiere but we've all seen that so I replaced it with an interview Mike & Joe did with the TV station A One before their Moscow show in 2007. I just saw this for the first time today and I know it's overdubbed in Russian, but check out Joe's hilarious antics in the interview. BAA! BAA! At the last show in Hamburg (show page here), LP hosted their fourth LPU Summit. This is the second "really special" show in a row for the band on what is shaping up to be a great tour for them. Linkin Park will be performing a FULL show for this premiere (not six songs like last time) but it will be interesting to see if they do anything differently, like play the three Transformers songs together or something. What do you think? Or if they talk about the movie during the show, perhaps. Will we see set B13, set C7 or the set they were playing at festivals earlier on in this tour? We've heard rumors about the show being webcasted online but we can't find any solid evidence or links, so if you know anything about it help us out! We do know the show will be recorded though and half an hour will be played on MTV's World Stage in July. Is anyone from LPLive going to this show? The tour continues on the 25th in München, Germany for the last Projekt Revolution of the year. After that, LP plays in Italy again for the first time in a while so be sure to check back for more coverage of this tour. Get everything you need regarding the 2011 shows here. The DSP's are starting to get posted too - go grab those if you like collecting them! EDIT: A picture of the Moscow setlist has been posted on LP's Instagram account...check it out here. SETLIST: 01. New Divide (Moscow Intro) 02. Papercut 03. Given Up 04. Faint 05. Empty Spaces 06. When They Come For Me 07. No More Sorrow 08. Jornada Del Muerto 09. Waiting For The End 10. Numb 11. The Radiance (Live Version) 12. Breaking The Habit 13. Crawling 14. Fallout 15. The Catalyst 16. In The End 17. Wisdom, Justice, & Love 18. Iridescent (Energy Up Version) 19. What I've Done 20. Bleed It Out Pretty interesting setlist here! 'New Divide' returns to the opening spot and it looks like the remix version of 'Iridescent' will be played. What do you guys think? 'New Divide' has only opened two shows ever - the album release show in NYC (show page here) and the debut show for set B11 in Detroit this year (show page here). EDIT: The 'New Divide' "Moscow Intro"! This is the first time sine 2004 that the band has used pyro on stage! What do you all think? 'One Step Closer' was also dropped for an unknown reason. The show page can be found here.
