I agree completely. Now that you mention it, the time it took to write Hybrid Theory and all the different versions the songs went through definitely helped them compose an extremely high quality album. To me, Meteora is just as good but was written in a short period of time and was a bit experimental (BTH, Nobody's Listening). MTM was an excellent period for them and took 2+ years to do too. The b-sides and full album are one hell of a collection of music. ATS is great, then it falls off. LT and THP...not as solid.

All Linkin Park related music videos list
hahninator replied to SergSlim's topic in Everything Linkin Park
He had all the stuff uploaded already so they made it the official FM account. -
I only said that because Chester said the music they were making during the sessions for THP was originally very poppy and it was going to be a poppy album, before Mike decided to make a rock sound.
-
I think they will go poppy and make an extremely mainstream sounding album. They aren't concerned with success these days obviously (Chester said he didn't care if they ever sold another record) but this type of music is extremely popular. Maybe they will do even better with ticket sales. I don't think I'd welcome a poppy sound with open arms but we will see. Maroon 5 went that route and never went back, and they are huge right now. Their stuff is TOO poppy.

"If I were to ever bring Fort Minor back, the first place I’d say anything about it would be on social media. I’m @m_shinoda on Instagram, @mikeshinoda on Twitter, by the way." looool troll move. Basically saying, "Oh by the way, yeah, follow me on social media, because that's where it'll be announced." I guess he's keeping it secret until after LP tours?

Mike recently answered a few questions for AltWire, and we thought we'd share a couple of those here. AW: Later this year will be Hybrid Theory’s 15th Anniversary. It’s crazy to believe it’s already been that long, but none the less it’s a big milestone for the band. Any plans of a special tour, re-issue or other event/product to commemorate the upcoming anniversary? MS: We’re not planning anything musically—no remasters, remixes, or re-releases— but rather plan to celebrate the anniversary in simpler terms. More to come on that later. AW: Linkin Park seemed to have done everything lately. We have these electronic-driven collaborations with Steve, we’ve had the raw, rock energy of The Hunting Party, we’ve had the cinematic vibe of the Mall soundtrack… Where does Linkin Park go next? MS: Creatively, we go wherever the music takes us. I’m really happy with the reaction from The Hunting Party, and I think we’re ready to move somewhere new on the next album, which will be coming next year. As usual, we’re also finding other ways to use our creative energy—most notably with a venture capital fund, to invest in and support consumer-facing tech companies we believe in. Technology has always played an integral role in the way we make music, bring it to the stage, and connect with fans, not to mention the way we simply live everyday life. So getting into deeper relationships with the technology community, collaborating and supporting brilliant young minds who want to change the world, that’s something we’re very passionate about right now. AW: Lastly, in regards to upcoming projects…recent activity on Fort Minor’s social media profiles have lead to many fans believing that some new material may be in the works and that FM may finally make a return after a 10 year gap from the last record. Is there anything you can say at the moment to confirm or deny this speculation? MS: If I were to ever bring Fort Minor back, the first place I’d say anything about it would be on social media. I’m @m_shinoda on Instagram, @mikeshinoda on Twitter, by the way. Read the full interview here.

Great find! Lmao I was even there and didn't recognize it

22 full songs. With LP he was doing 16 full songs, and 4 partial ones.

September 19th - Baltimore, MD - The Shindig http://www.theshindigbaltimore.com/ STP, Godsmack, Chevelle, Nothing More, etc
-
Oh yes. The West Palm Beach setlist was shorter than the headlining one, they played 1.5 hours so some stuff was cut. I can't find the set anywhere though sadly.

The 15 second GoPro video of Wastelands on the LP social media accounts. What show?
-
Pretty cool find! No idea how you'd find that, haha.
-
Great to see you Ravok. I believe he complained that LP used samples in the show.
-
I think D&B is better than Trippin' to close. Huge song. Down destroys Lounge Fly as an opener though. Sex Type Thing needs to close the main set I think. But I can't blame them for wanting to change it up.

Last show today. Damn Chester sounds amazing on Dead & Bloated Philly.

What song from THP do you want LP to add to the setlists?
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Live Talk
I cringed at that In My Remains was very good when I saw it in 2012. Sounded fantastic, and I suspect that's why they dropped WTCFM for it. Then it disappeared though when Castle Of Glass came in. LP is so weird with this stuff... -
I think a little too much hate on this episode. We could have zero footage of this so I'm glad we got something. The issue is that the band didn't have Fiore work on a legit 30-40 minute "making of" for the entire album, so these 3 minute clips don't offer us as much insight as we had for Meteora, Collision Course, Minutes To Midnight, and A Thousand Suns. Same. It sounds like at the beginning they're jamming on something different. It would have been cool to see more of that. I wonder what Tom Morello truly thinks about Drawbar. It's odd that LP ended up with this track when it's kind of simple...I thought they'd take a week with Morello and compose some true jams or something. I have zero idea how it goes in the studio though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I'm glad we're getting THP episodes.

This It'd be great to have just one tour where they play zero singles. Yes, even OSC/Faint. Drop every single and play non-singles for an LPU tour of clubs...wow. -
Praise Shinoda. Hope they keep FTI.

No. Not anymore. PR07 it was epic. I handled it in 2008. Then it got old. Last time I really enjoyed it was Tampa 2011 and that was because BITS aaaand then APFMH were over the bridge at the same show. So filthy. The band thinks it is some party rock anthem and it is time for it to go. Just play the studio version early in the setlist. Close with other stuff. -
It has bothered me he uses the pitch correction and they sample the vocals too, but that's a part of their "performance" now.
-
Simple question, which song from The Hunting Party do you want added to the setlists for this summer's shows? We will see which one is the most popular.
-
Now that's a valid point. Songs like In My Remains and Hit The Floor lasted no time at all. You're right, if the song isn't played now, it will never be played. I'll take ALITS now, that's fine. APFMH is a song that has a chance of being played any album cycle, like LFY. Truthfully those and Papercut and maybe Points are the only ones that can survive any album cycle it seems.
-
As big of a proponent as I am for adding new songs from albums live (I've been for it always), I actually hope in this case that they don't add anything else from THP, and instead keep FTI/APFMH. I was totally for a new THP song being added until I saw the Orlando and Nashville shows. The set is perfect now. New lighting director so the lighting is 100% better, the sound is epic, the band jams and sound great, and the show is A+. FTI and APFMH really are fantastic live...they add a lot to the show because the crowd LOVES both of them and explode way more than the crowd on With You/SIB (POA is comparable I guess). I suspect if they add ALITS or something, they'll drop APFMH. Seems too good to be true to have a set with FTI, APFMH, and ALITS or KTTK. It'd be a shame if FTI disappeared since it was played 3 times after being gone almost 3 years. And APFMH is so randomly played that it's becoming an extremely hard song to see (which is kind of cool, but frustrating if you go years without seeing it). It wouldn't surprise me if they drop both, sadly.
