  1. October 25, 2015 at Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, CA. STP, Faith No More, Deftones, etc.
  2. Working on it, don't worry. LESTAT is doing a great job with everything. This is his project, so I'm not rushing him on anything
  3. I think he also said Rebellion and ALITS are the 2 hardest songs from THP to play. I'm surprised they had both in the same set. I thought at ROTR that they'd drop ALITS (due to no Brad) so that was why they were playing Rebellion, ha. Yeah the NIN 2008 tour - Lights in the Sky. Trent broke that shit down huge. Mainly to do the Ghost songs, but he had Piggy stripped down and a few from Year Zero. Cool tour.
  4. Slowly adding info to this...
  5. I really think LP was going to play the event...
  6. Yeah I'll put She Shines up. @lpplus - I never do this but I removed your download link. The ONLY reason I did that for now was because we are working on a better download upgrade than a simple YouTube download. One big video file. Stay tuned for that soon
  7. http://news.yahoo.com/live-earth-global-climate-change-concerts-delayed-182933125.html "Paris (AFP) - Organisers of Live Earth, a set of global concerts backed by Al Gore aimed at pushing for urgent action on climate change, announced a delay Friday, weeks before the scheduled date. Live Earth had intended shows on each inhabited continent for June 18 featuring more than 100 artists to raise pressure for a strong agreement at a UN-led climate conference in Paris at the end of the year. Representatives, however, said that no events would take place that day, and instead a free concert would be held near the Eiffel Tower in Paris sometime in the autumn."
  8. FYI we changed the date of this to June 20 instead of June 19 since LP plays at midnight.
  9. Perfect. ROTR turned into a snooze fest mid show. Someone texted me last night at RCRockFest and said the same...
  10. Huuuuge find, thanks to Jonathan and LESTAT for this! I can't believe they have so many unreleased songs. Wow that's a long set too.
  11. It was just for fun since they were stranded in the weather, this wasn't some LPU HQ video chat.
  12. The LPU chat on VyRT with the band being able to use their phones is fantastic. We would have had the chat canceled if they weren't using VyRT. So much bitching about the log in process and trust me, I complain about everything...it took me maybe 30 seconds tops to get in. I like the color formatting they have...easy to read...and the band seems to do really well using it (aka it's simple but effective). Tinychat was terrible IMO, I'm glad they switched. The possibilities with VyRT seem great. Webcast another show someday (like an exclusive LA show for the LPU, just stream it to the LPU members who can't go), do some backstage stuff on it, etc. Mike could log on and fuck around with the video function and show us flying his drone or the band warming up or something. Hell Joe could even get on the thing during ALITS or something live, ha.
  13. They are done in September, so if they add anything it'll be before then. I'm surprised no LPU Summit show has been added for Europe.
  14. I thought the weather would pass (based on the radar) and they'd get in about 60 minutes, similar to Novarock 2012. Ouch. The band can't seem to get on the right foot. First show back they play 75 minutes, then Brad misses a show, now the next show is canceled. Damn.
  15. What was supposed to be Linkin Park's second show in two days (following Rocklahoma on the 23rd) is in San Antonio, Texas on May 24th. They will be headlining the Bud Light River City Rockfest (a one day festival), which is interestingly held OUTSIDE of the AT&T Center in the parking lot instead of inside in the 19,000 capacity arena. It's a big lineup at this one and playing before LP on the Bud Light Stage will be Volbeat, Papa Roach, Halestorm, In This Moment, Drowning Pool, The Pretty Reckless, and Starset. We say "supposed to be" because Rocklahoma ended up being canceled at the last minute, after Linkin Park was set to go on stage. The entire festival was evacuated several times during the day, the last time being during Halestorm. Volbeat and Linkin Park both never got to play, and about a half hour into LP's time slot, the festival canceled the rest of the show. Dangerous winds, tornadoes and torrential rain darkened the skies yesterday, so we are hoping for a better outcome today in San Antonio. See the National Weather Service post from 10pm last night here and the Rocklahoma cancellation here. "ROCKLAHOMA UPDATE: Due to the continued inclement weather in Pryor, we will be cancelling the rest of the bands scheduled to perform tonight." Unfortunately, this is Linkin Park's seventeenth cancellation in 2015, but excluding Chester's foot injury and scheduling/rescheduling of shows, it's actually their first cancellation since the A Thousand Suns World Tour in 2011, and first weather-related cancellation since 2007 in Italy. That show was also canceled before LP took the stage. Luckily for those Italian fans, Linkin Park returned to headline Italy's Heineken Jammin' in 2008, so perhaps LP will return to Rocklahoma next year. Linkin Park has played the San Antonio area a few times in the past. While most tours now get just two shows in Texas in Dallas and Houston, they have deviated to San Antonio a few times. Selma, the local amphitheatre for years until it closed in 2011, featured stops on Ozzfest 2001, Projekt Revolution 2004, and Projekt Revolution 2007. A show at the Alamodome in San Antonio unfortunately fell victim to a rescheduling/cancellation on Family Values Tour 2001 but Linkin Park did headline Freeman Coliseum on the massive Meteora World Tour in 2004. The Projekt Revolution 2007 show in Selma was pretty good...the band was on fire only seven shows into their massive North American tour. Chester nailed the full scream on Given Up for the first time in public (he did it at the AOL Sessions show at rehearsals earlier that year). This was the second time Rob ever performed a drum solo on Bleed It Out (after the band literally forced him to do one in Phoenix the show prior). Mike dedicated The Little Things Give You Away to those who were affected by Hurricane Katrina by saying, "I know a lot of the folks from New Orleans came out here after that happened. This is for you guys." He later dedicated it again to those from New Orleans who were in Atlanta. Other highlights include a rare Nobody's Listening verse over the Points Of Authority intro (this was when Mike was in the groove of changing it up a lot) and the crowd actually playfully stealing the microphone they put into the crowd on Crawling, but giving it right back. This will be LP's fifth show in the San Antonio area and just second inside the actual city of San Antonio. It's a bit of a deviation from the norm for Linkin Park to play these summer North American festivals this year...Mike even commented on Instagram this weekend, "The "Playing Every US Festival With 'Rock' In The Name" Tour continues...Rocklahoma and River City Rock Fest this weekend. See you there!" A positive to these festivals is that it sometimes takes LP to places they don't normally play (Pryor, San Antonio, Montebello, Mack, etc). A negative is that the band has to trim their show down a bit and perform about 7-10 minutes shorter than their normal headlining show, and they also don't bring their full production (fans commented on a noticeably dark stage at Rock on the Range). What do you think? And since we touched on Points Of Authority earlier in the post, why not discuss Mike's Solo Medley? He experimented with a few verses back earlier in the touring cycle. Most recently at the ninth November show in Germany last year in Bremen, he rapped High Voltage over the medley for a rare treat. When They Come For Me verse 1 was done off-and-on in 2014, Hands Held High was done several times by requests from LPLive staff, and he rehearsed verse 2 of When They Come For Me at the Carnivores Tour production rehearsal. The most popular verse besides the Remember The Name verse that he has now resorted to most of the time was the Skin To Bone remix verse, which was originally THE verse that was debuted over the medley. It has been seen just once in the past few shows, though. While it seems like Mike has become (almost too) comfortable with the Remember The Name verse, perhaps we will see him change it up later in the year. Europe is a great place for requests at M&Gs due to the amount of hardcore fans that attend the show, so we are positive someone will ask him to do a rarer verse. Besides High Voltage and Hands Held High, are there any other verses you'd like to see Mike attempt? It's actually a surprise to us that When They Come For Me verse 2 was rehearsed, but not ever done at a show... After this show, Linkin Park sadly has four weeks off. They headline Amnesia Rockfest in Montebello, Canada on June 20th, and for now, that's the next show. The band closes May with just three shows played and five due up in June. That's not exactly a big "comeback", but we'll take it. For the rest of the 2015 tour dates and past setlists, visit the 2015 tour page here. Setlist: 01. Papercut (2015 Intro) 02. Rebellion 03. Given Up (Ext. Outro) 04. One Step Closer (Ext. Outro) 05. A Line In The Sand (Keyboard Intro) 06. From The Inside 07. Runaway (Shortened; Transition ->) 08. Wastelands 09. Castle Of Glass (Experience Version; w/ ATS Interlude) 10. LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent (Ballad Medley) 11. Robot Boy (Shortened Instrumental) 12. Joe Solo Medley 13. New Divide 14. Breaking The Habit 15. Darker Than Blood (Shortened) 16. Burn It Down 17. Mike Solo Medley (w/ Remember The Name) 18. Numb (Numb/Encore Intro + Outro) 19. In The End 20. Faint (Ext. Outro) 21. Waiting For The End (Apaches Intro w/ UIB; Wall Of Noise Outro) 22. What I've Done (Ext. Guitar Solo Bridge) 23. Bleed It Out (Ext. Bridge w/ Sing-a-long) Show Notes: - Since the band's performance at Rocklahoma was cancelled due to severe weather the night before, this was Brad's first show back after having to skip out at 2015.05.17 Rock On The Range due to family issues. Other Notes: - This will be Linkin Park's first show in San Antonio since February 2004. They last played the nearby amphitheatre in Selma, TX in August 2007. - Before the show started, Mike went on Periscope and did a short stream from their production booth and walking onstage. Earlier in the day, Mike and Joe streamed their visit to the Alamo with Dave.
  16. I don't know anyone going.
  17. This is true. They'll have another crossover top 10 hit single. Until It's Gone could have been it if they didn't do a stupid "LOL GATS AS FIRST SINGLE...THEN UIG!" situation. Maybe if it was in Transformers 4 it would have blown up. Either way, they were REALLY dumb in how they released singles and that guaranteed UIG couldn't do anything. With how much they said the last album was going to be a POP album (before Mike decided to do rock), I'm sure that's what they're headed towards for the next album or two. And we all know they can pop a 3-3.5 minute radio single out in minutes without much effort (see: What I've Done, Burn It Down) so I think they'll get a few big hit songs for sure. I highly doubt LP is done in the sense of releasing huge singles and all, because I really see them going the route of Maroon 5 on the new album and making a very poppy sound with an extremely mainstream feel, regardless of how I feel about it.
  18. Originally spotted on MikeShinodaClan and from the Columbus Dispatch, we saw an interview with Chester from before the Rock on the Range performance. Here's an interesting quote from something he said... Q: Whether in a physical or emotional sense, is it tougher at 39 to find the adrenaline to perform your heavy catalog? A: "It’s going to be harder this year, I can tell you that. Up until I broke my ankle, I was flying through these sets. I had taken really good care of myself — and this last year of touring after we released (the 2014 album) The Hunting Party had been the best I’ve ever had, vocally. I was in the best shape of my life; now, I’m in full-body atrophy. I went from touching the rim and being excited about dunking to hoping I’ll be able touch the bottom of the net again. Can I ever jump off another speaker? I don’t think that’s going to happen." While he says he was in the best shape of his life before his ankle surgery, he's actually pretty pessimistic about his current state. Atrophy is a strong word to use in this situation. We understand he feels differently on stage and probably mentally knows he won't ever be able to go ALL OUT on stage. While we noticed Chester being SLIGHTLY more reserved at Rock in Rio USA, it was Linkin Park's first show since January and they were opening for Metallica. And it was his first show back from his surgery. At Rock on the Range this past weekend, we noticed no actual differences in his on stage antics and energy compared to 2014-2015. He was jumping around as usual on Given Up, From The Inside, and more. Sure, he might not make these so-called huge jumps on stage, but he's still giving the sets a lot more energy than we'd assume following his surgery. Here are some videos: Check the bridge... Another good bridge with an energetic Chester Aaaand the end of Wastelands, of course While it might be harder for him (personally) to physically get through the shows, we haven't noticed a difference yet in how he actually performs - not even more of a reliance on the micstand than before in 2014 or early 2015. And we're saying this after two shows too. Chester seems to actually be in excellent shape on stage despite what he says. And we doubt this will change for the rest of the touring cycle. We actually were expecting him to be a lot more reserved at the shows and this doesn't seem to be the case at all. What do you think? Make sure to check out the whole interview, as he touches on a range of subjects, like Hybrid Theory. "Not that long ago, we did the Download Festival (in England). We were asked to perform Hybrid Theory from front to back. The crowd just lost their minds."
  19. UPDATE: Due to extreme weather conditions, the show was cancelled. After a week break, Linkin Park is back in action on May 23rd when they head to Pryor, Oklahoma to headline day two of Rocklahoma. Joining them on the Bud Light Main Stage (which appears to be seated?) at this show are Volbeat, Halestorm, Anthrax, The Pretty Reckless, and Candlebox. All of those with the exclusion of Candlebox also played with LP at Rock on the Range last weekend. A funny part of this show's schedule is that Scott Weiland and his wild band (ha) play directly before Linkin Park on the Hard Rock Casino Stage. LP's set time is from 10:45pm-12:15am, and while they are technically headlining, other acts play after them on the other, smaller stages. This is the third show of the summer for Linkin Park, coming after Rock in Rio USA and Rock on the Range, but only 17,000 people are expected each day for this festival. Linkin Park has played in Oklahoma a few times before. Their second tour ever, with the Kottonmouth Kings in 2000, stopped in Tulsa that year and they were back four weeks later at the same venue with P.O.D. as well. The band's good friends in Papa Roach played a radio show with them in Oklahoma City that December, giving Oklahoma three shows in one year. Oklahoma didn't get a show in 2001 as the Oklahoma City stop on the Family Values Tour was later canceled when the tour was rerouted several times. Projekt Revolution 2002 visited the state and Linkin Park headlined Oklahoma City for the first time in February 2002. It was at this show that Crawling was stopped and restarted mid-song due to the fans being so wild. There's a good audience recording of this show if you want to listen to a solid 2002 performance. Next, the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK was a stop on the Meteora World Tour in 2004 in between the Las Vegas and Texas shows. Linkin Park did not return to Oklahoma until February 2008, on the Minutes To Midnight North American Arena Tour, four years later. Chester was sick at this show but instead of canceling, the band performed an abbreviated setlist. Wake went into Lying From You as Given Up was dropped (even though it was just released as a single a few weeks prior), Papercut had the outro from Points Of Authority, and Chester even told fans they could get their money back if they weren't satisfied. Check out the show page, as we cover all of the changes at that show. The two shows after Oklahoma City were canceled, and after four more abbreviated shows, the band returned to a full setlist to close the tour in Sacramento, CA. This will be the band's seventh show in Oklahoma, first since 2008, and first in Pryor, OK. At the last Linkin Park show (last weekend), LP debuted their full U.S. Festival setlist for this summer. Rebellion and Breaking The Habit made their 2015 debuts, part of Darker Than Blood was performed directly before Burn It Down, and From The Inside stuck around after coming back for three shows in January. Unfortunately, A Place For My Head didn't make the cut for this set. Phoenix gave an interview to an Oklahoma newspaper, saying about The Hunting Party, Those songs were written with the live setting in mind. A lot of people draw a correlation between The Hunting Party as an album and maybe Hybrid Theory and Meteora. All those records were written from the perspective of what would be the most fun way to present a song in a live setting. When youre starting out as a band, every song you write is going to transition and be some part of your live set." While The Hunting Party may have been written with the live setting in mind, only six songs from the album have been performed live and two of those were dropped for this tour (Guilty All The Same and Final Masquerade, two of the singles). Another, Until It's Gone, was only performed in full less than 20 times, before being shortened for summer/fall 2014 and then disappearing entirely. Only Wastelands, Rebellion (which was absent from the Winter North American Tour), and A Line In The Sand remain in the set from the new album. A band that used to be known for playing every song on their albums live (Hybrid Theory, Meteora, Minutes To Midnight, and even A Thousand Suns with the new Robot Boy piece in the show), Living Things and The Hunting Party suffered greatly, with a combined thirteen of twenty four songs being played live, including the instrumental Tinfoil and excluding the verse of Until It Breaks that is rapped over Waiting For The End. For Living Things, In My Remains also disappeared mid-touring cycle and hasn't been played since. Whatever happened to I'll Be Gone, Roads Untraveled, Powerless, All For Nothing, War, Mark The Graves, and more - we don't know. Did the band get lazy? Did they think that these songs wouldn't translate live? Did they want more "popular" songs played in the sets? Were these songs just not good enough to be played live? "For this most recent record, we kind of returned back to that mentality, that ethos of a real live setting whats gonna be exciting as an audience member, whats the best choice to make step by step in the writing of a song, to be able to really have it translate in the live setting, the live environment. I think the outdoor summer festivals are really unique in the energy that theyre able to create. You cant get such an awesome energy and atmosphere in an arena as you can at one of these festivals where people just, you get there early enough, you can get close and it turns out to be lots of excitement, a lot of energy in a crowd and its own unique thing." Also at the last show, Brad was absent as many of you noticed. He was dealing with a personal/family issue and to our knowledge, we are about 95% sure that he will be back this weekend. Benjamin Chandler, his guitar tech, played the show for him and it was Benjamin's third time playing in place of Brad on this touring cycle. He also played both Brazil shows last fall. Linkin Park plays back-to-back shows and headlines the Bud Light River City Rockfest outside of the AT&T Center on May 24th. Major storms are predicted for San Antonio on Saturday, so we will see if that affects the show in any way. Pryor is also being drenched with rain, with 3-5 inches predicted over the weekend. The band is going to keep the same setlist for the rest of May, at least, and we don't think they'll change anything until Mexico. This setlist is a little shorter than the rest of the touring cycle, so it wouldn't surprise us if Mexico in June got an encore and one or two extra songs added to the show. These are the last two shows for May, and LP takes a four week break before five shows in June that start on June 19th. A webcast/broadcast of the Rocklahoma show is NOT expected as AXS TV will not be at the festival this year. In case you missed the Rock in Rio USA or Rock on the Range shows, you can download both in our video section of the forums. For upcoming tour dates, past setlists, and more, the 2015 tour page can be found here.
  20. Yeah we did have it as an Ext. Intro. I mean for FTI I can just list it in the show notes and not the setlist. We aren't perfect...some of this stuff confuses me too, lmao.
  21. Well Rebellion has always been performed like that and this is a new change to FTI. But I mean, up to you guys. It's really hard to be consistent across the board when they change so much small stuff all the time.
  22. Damn we are being technical, lmao. The pics are up on the show page...made sure to get all the stuff for Jonas (wristband, tickets, pass sheet, etc). Couldn't get the LP pass sheet but it was slightly different for this one...they had an extra pass for the riser on the side of the stage with a white sticker on it. Changed I made to the show page: -Added "Fade In Start" to FTI. Intro was doubled in length from the winter tour and faded in. -Added "Hard Start" to Mike's Solo Medley for both summer 2015 shows as he has stopped doing the long beat intro stuff for the song (for the time being). I fixed (w/ Joe) on the song name for these 2 shows + Indianapolis too. -Removed Fallout from DTB. Should be good to go on the show page...sources and pics are there. If anyone wants something changed let me know.
  23. Papercut (2015 Intro) Rebellion Given Up Points Of Authority One Step Closer Bleed It Out From The Inside Runaway -> Wastelands Castle Of Dance ONE slow song - Leave Out All The Rest perhaps What I've Done Breaking The Habit Waiting For The End Mike Solo Medley -> Numb/Encore Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You In The End Faint ------------------------------ Guilty All The Same A Place For My Head A Line In The Sand
