Chester still has two shows left with Stone Temple Pilots, but that hasn't stopped most of the rest of Linkin Park (all except Joe) from getting together to rehearse for their upcoming shows in May. Up first is the Rock in Rio USA show on May 9th in Las Vegas. Linkin Park just posted a picture to Instagram with the caption "@m_shinoda, @phoenixlp, BBB, and Rob rehearsing a new song for the upcoming shows. What song from #TheHuntingParty would you like to hear live this summer?" Back in January, they also posted a rehearsal picture with the caption "BBB rehearsing a new song. Join us at #TheHuntingPartyTour". However, no new song was played on the tour and the band instead opted to put in fan-favorite From The Inside (not played in almost 3 years) and their most-requested live song A Place For My Head. Our nine page thread for the first show of that tour in Orlando discussed the picture at LENGTH including the exact positioning of Brad's hands (yes, we're that crazy)...leaving the general consensus to believe that War was being rehearsed. What do you think? Are they looking to add another song from The Hunting Party to the show? Keys To The Kingdom and A Line In The Sand have been mentioned by Mike and Phoenix before...and Mike in Europe last fall said there was one song in particular that he at least wanted to add to the show. We will find out on May 9th, as the show will be webcasted, even though Linkin Park has just a 75 minute setlist. Their full show will return on May 17th for Rock on the Range. 4/30 EDIT: A second rehearsal picture was posted to Instagram, this time only featuring Brad, with the caption: "BBB at rehearsals. Get ready @RockInRioUSA #RockInRioUSA"

NYC setlist: http://lplive.net/shows/db/julienk1415/20150424j LA sounds epic, sounds like Killing Fields will be played with Brandon. https://www.facebook.com/ryan.shuck.37/posts/10152921960419611 Some inside Baseball facts about this weekend MAY 1&2: JULIEN-K RECORD RELEASE at The Viper Room: 1) One of the nights I am nick-naming the "mix night", and the other I am nick-naming the "DTA heavy night" 2) One night we will be performing a song in a unique way w a special friend and it will be rad 3) Both nights/sets will have a decidedly different "feel" or "theme" and will hit decidedly different mood scenes in the Julien-K soundscape. 4) We will be playing some rare tracks from the DTA collection. 5) We will be playing some of the California Noir collection for the first time - EVER. 6) The first night I will be a weirdo and scared to talk to people because I will be afraid of talking to loudly and loosing my voice so I will be elusive and bitchy. 7) We are playing with both Eli James AND Frank Zummo 8) Eviscerate will happen smile emoticon 9) Deep Beat will happen smile emoticon 10) An acoustic guitar will be used. 11) We will be playing longer sets than we have ever played - 75 mins+ 12) We had to learn and/or re-learn approx 35 songs in 5 days of rehearsal to figure out the sets. 13) We have fans flying in from all over the country (yay!!!) 14) We are playing so many songs that I have had to print and laminate lyric cheat sheets for 30 of the songs... (hahahaha). 15) Fourwaycross is fronted by our art director and one of our best friends, Tom Dolan - he designed the California Noir esthetic. This is they're first show in over 20 years. They are really really cool and pioneered much of what we consider our "sound" and what we think is "cool music". 16) The Crying Spell toured w us in Europe and they are REALLY good and you will like them like we do. Also, Len Hotrum sang w me on the chorus of Cast Into The Sea - he sings the harmonies and helped me figure out the chorus. 17) I will be celebrating my LA birthday and I will be expecting special treatment and gifts. 18) I will be living at an un-named hotel very close to the venue for the weekend - Wolfgang will be at his friend Klaus' house playing for the weekend. It will be cute. 19) We will have signed, limited edition high quality posters that are unique to EACH NIGHT for sale - and I mean LIMITED (remember how many people were bumming on not getting the DTA posters? Yep. We know.) 20) If these shows prove to be as successful as NYC, we have a plan to hit some more cities......... And I know exactly which ones I'm contemplating..... smile emoticon smile emoticon wink emoticon wink emoticon Sounds great.

Yes I just caught it on the replay - I agree. Robert even says "I'm going to come to your show and yell YOU'RE NOT FUCKIN' JFK" to him, lmao. -
Bumping this old thread. We had the setlist for this show thanks to Lee, but the 3 after it were missing until today. Amir sent them. Same set for all 3. http://lplive.net/shows/julienk1213

Originally we thought someone was yelling at Chester, because Chester literally said almost nothing about it and Dean and Robert absolutely exploded. Wow, Dean went over and tapped Chester on the shoulder mid-song, grabbed the mic and went off on a rant. A guy got kicked out and they said his friend was welcome to leave with him, lol. Chester said that guy paid to be there.... Today someone who was at the show told us the guy was being rowdy and trying to fight people, not yelling at the band. -
I agree with everything you said. They seem genuinely happy and more importantly, Chester seems to love this so much...you can visibly see how much he enjoys doing this. That sucks he has to ice his foot ASAP after the shows. They are playing close to 2 hours, but the LP sets (while shorter) are more energetic. I bet he's on the micstand a lot more.

Check out this new interview from Yahoo with Dean from Stone Temple Pilots, discussing Chester's role in the band and the impact he has had on the rest of their band. Here are a few excerpts: The band -- which also includes DeLeo's bass playing brother Robert and drummer Eric Kretz -- is in the middle of a tour of small venues and DeLeo says it's going incredibly well, largely due to the presence of Bennington. "It's like there's a fire there between Robert and I and Eric and it's definitely put us in a different realm," he enthuses. "Especially in the last two weeks. I think we're becoming a better band. [Chester] sets a high bar and I can feel it. Robert even said it the other night -- we're becoming a better band." It isn't too far out to suggest that it's highly unlikely that STP would be a functioning band at this point without Bennington. "He pretty much saved the band," DeLeo says. "It couldn't have gone on. It was either going to stop or...We all just hoped Chester would say yes when we asked him to be the singer of this band. He really did save it." "We called Chester to be the singer of Stone Temple Pilots," DeLeo says. "There was no question in that whatsoever. We were hoping he was going to say yes and he'd front this band," he adds. "This is his band. This is our band." Yet, even with a frontman recovering from an injury, who has to split his time between STP and his other band, Bennington is still a huge improvement over the band's previous situation, DeLeo insists. "There's no comparison. It's like talking about the strength of a 2-year-old baby compared to a professional body builder. I'll tell you this man, Robert, Eric and I are really fortunate. We're having the time of our lives right now. We really feel like this has been a rebirth." As for a possible reunion with Weiland down the road, apparently that ship has sailed. "Why that f*ck would we want that?," DeLeo asks. "That f*cking mess? I just told you earlier we're on a rebirth now. We're with a guy that pushes us. We're with a guy that is 1000% present," he adds, before pausing. "I've waited almost my entire career for this." It seems like the band is in the best shape they've been in for quite some time.
