Congratulations to RHCP Fans on Oldschool Release
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
RHCP is fucking awesome. I'm buying this to support them. http://redhotchilipeppers.com/news/485-live-download-melbourne-february-2000 "Download the band’s set from Melbourne, Australia from the Californication World Tour in 2000. Recently discovered in the band’s archives, the show is newly mixed and mastered. To purchase, please click here. More shows will be released in months to come - stay tuned!" I've really gotta get the ball rolling on the LP one. Stay tuned, it's almost done. -

No delay. It's odd. -
I really think London and Hamburg.

On Mike's Periscope chat the other day, he said Fort Minor would be playing "a few shows" that were "hard to get a ticket to." The very next day, Fort Minor's first comeback show was announced, at LA's Exchange club for June 29th. Thanks to our good friend graveguard, we now know MLK (the popular German promoter) has added a fresh Fort Minor page to their website. Mysteriously, the page only lists their previous Hamburg show in 2005 and is otherwise left blank. Still, the addition of the page makes us raise our eyebrows. It has a ticket website linked up, ready to go "just in case" there's an announcement, it has the Fort Minor social media feed embedded to it, and a link to Warner Music Germany. There was a page for a while for FM, but it seems to have been taken down in the past few years. The new page is freshly updated. Already, we see that Mike's "one man show" for Fort Minor can appear anytime, anywhere. The Conan O'Brien show was followed up by Linkin Park in Mexico City the very next day, and the Los Angeles Fort Minor show is the night before Linkin Park plays all the way in Wisconsin for Summerfest. It's not unreasonable to believe that Fort Minor will be playing a show or two in Europe when Linkin Park visits in August and September. Maybe Hamburg, maybe London, maybe a city where Linkin Park is already playing, like Berlin or Rome. We can only speculate until there is an announcement, but keep your eyes open because it seems likely Mike will take Fort Minor overseas very shortly. 6/28 EDIT: Mike has pretty much confirmed Fort Minor will visit Europe on the Linkin Park tour at the end of this new Q&A:

Mainly modern, popular hip hop/rap songs, and some older ones from the 80s/90s. Not a lot of early-mid 2000s.

Great job on the post! You've been a fan of LP for a very long time. It's crazy how hard Monterrey 2012 to get a ticket was....you almost never hear of that. And if they play ALITS you will blow up -

Well Rebellion was on the setlist but not played. That's odd. -

If they swapped Crawling for APFMH it'd be the strongest set since 2013. I like it though. -

I could see them using this headlining setlist the rest of the year, even in China (if they don't have to drop Given Up, in which case they'll have to add something like APFMH since they can't play Rebellion lmao) and Europe. FM didn't replace Rebellion, Points did. I don't understand bringing Rebellion back for 2 shows and then kicking it out again. It must kill Rob. Welcome will probably stay all year... I like this setlist and thank god they added a few songs to lengthen it out, BUT it is not as strong as the ones in January in my opinion. Wow, that Set B only got played once which means that's probably the last DOYS/LFY performance. True shame since that song explodes live. DOYS/LFY -> ITE -> APFMH -> Faint was epic. Set A and B in January were great - FTI and APFMH both in the same set, which is exactly what I like. APFMH is becoming that really rare song that's hard to see. 2 performances in 2014, 3 in 2015. 1 in 2010. Zero in 2011. Came back a good bit in 2012-2013, only to disappear again. The middle in the new set drags too much I think. When they moved WFTE from the middle, it now goes Castle, Ballad, Robot, Joe Solo, New Divide, BTH, Aoki song, BID. Tooooooo slow. -
16,700 in Mexico City last night.

Yes, very strange they'll go to China for 5 shows but Japan gets nothing.

Joe will be DJing a new product launch for Good Smile Company in Tokyo, Japan on July 15th, two days before Linkin Park's tour in China begins. You might remember Good Smile Company from the Linkin Park Bearbrick they designed in 2011 for the A Thousand Horizons event. In this case, Joe helped the company design a new pair of headphones, which he recently showcased on Instagram. They will debut at this product launch, which is being held at Unit Nightclub in Tokyo. Tickets are about 3,000 yen, or $24, and can be purchased here. Kiel Berry, the executive vice president of Machine Shop, will also be in attendance. This will be Joe's second DJ event in 2015, following his Las Vegas one in May.

They are on now, going out for the encore. The updates on the LinkinParkLive snapchat are really good. -
Ryu is just understandably confused when he recorded a verse for this song (probably assuming and rightfully so, that it was for an FM comeback, because anyone in their right mind would assume that) and is in the video, but didn't know the video was being shot and wasn't in the song. And now Mike wants to do it solo. Yes the FM meaning is not what Ryu is implying. "I wanted to send out the message that I'm not doing this just to get more attention to myself as a person. It's more about the music than me, and I thought by putting another name on it, it would keep the attention on the music. 'Fort' represents the more aggressive side of the music. 'Minor' can mean a few things: if you're talking about music theory, the minor key is darker. I wanted to name the album rather than having my name on the cover, because I want people to focus on the music, not me. In fact, the reason I named the record 'The Rising Tied' is because it's a play on words. This "tied" group of people are coming up together in the context of this record." Another interview: “There’s a lot of dynamics in the record, and that’s why the name Fort Minor works so well,” Shinoda explained. ” ’Fort’ [is] something that’s heavy and militant. ’Minor’ [is] taken one of two ways: either meaning small or meaning … between the two basic chords in music theory, you’ve got major or minor, and minor is described as the darker, sadder chord. The album is about the dynamic when you put all those things together. You’ve got that spectrum.”

Another message from Ryu. https://instagram.com/p/4SeBdeHkpN/ "Just a little extra info on Fort Minor since we're on the subject. Again..I'm saying this to you not coming from a place of anger but just a little FYI. before the name Fort Minor existed, Mike was working on a solo project. He had ask us (Styles Of Beyond) to feature on a couple songs, which turned into about 8 or 9 songs. from that point SOB was so heavily featured on the album, he decided to call the collective "Fort Minor " FORT meaning a large powerful structure (Linkin Park) and MINOR meaning small (Styles Of Beyond) although FM was definitely Mike's idea, it took a lot of people and hard work on many levels to bring his idea to fruition, so the idea of him calling himself "Fort Minor" I find disrespectful to all of us who toured the world and missed our kids birthdays to support him. Again, I have love for Mike and I wish him the best, but I won't be disrespected in the process. Thanks for rockin with me! Peace!" elnoelay92: Complete respect for this but why be in the welcome video? therealryu: @elnoelay92 I actually just went down to support his art project. I knew he was filming something but didn't know it was the actual music video. Either way, I'll always support my friends.

http://noisey.vice.com/blog/mike-shinoda-fort-minor-interview-2015-welcome Great read. I knew he changed the name to "Ken" in Kenji, but I didn't know his dad's name was Muto. The song is about his grandfather so I guess we don't know his real name (not like it really matters).

He did. Ryu's verse got cut. I guess FM would be weird with just Mike and Ryu....I'm not sure what to think. Mike can do it solo, but it'd be cool to have Ryu as a guest. If Mike does an album in the fall (which I think he will), I would be surprised if Ryu isn't there on at least one song.

Ryu: https://www.facebook.com/TherealRyu/posts/10206598536784773 "To the Fort Minor fans: Just wanted to take a minute to say thanks to you guys for always being supportive of me. I'm humbled that you guys appreciate my past contributions to the group and expected to see me on the new project. I actually did do a verse on the song "Welcome" and was just as excited as you were for it's release. Unfortunatly for reasons unknown to me, the song was released without me on it. I guess it wasn't meant to be. Anyways, i'm glad that you guys finally got some new FM music, and i wish Mike nothing but success in whatever he does. I am putting the final touches on my solo album and can't wait for you guys to see what i've been up to! I'm holding some heat right now so stay tuned. I ain't done yet! #thankyou #fortminor #fortminormilitia #SOBcentral"

Ok that was a hell of a lot better than I thought it'd be. He can perform solo no problem. It's very refreshing to see him get out from behind the keyboard aka battle station. The solo shows will be good. He looks very confident now.

For the love of God, don't be lazy here. Play a FULL setlist again for the first time since Indianapolis. Encore and everything. Add APFMH, Final Masq, and maybe even a shortened LITE or something. Whatever you want. No need to cop out with the ROTR setlist again. You need an encore. Not a huge fan of the side project stuff being in the LP set (DBS, FM)...I like the solo medley but Mike got SO complacent with it. HHH, WTCFM, High Voltage were really epic over it and now he does RTN every time.
