I was just going by the poster, lol. My opinion is roughly the same. I'm not sure how many people are that supportive of it. I get it that bands get boring sometimes and you want to spice it up, but hyping a game for months saying there will be so many updates to it to come for ages (8 Bit Rebellion) to entice fans to buy it so they can get a song...meh. I mean I like the song and a different release model is cool, even though I would prefer it if they'd just release true b-sides (unreleased songs) and rarer live stuff on SINGLES. But singles are outdated and no one buys them. Still, digital singles seem to work....? But it's not about releasing the music since they truly haven't put new music out with this type of partnership in the past few years. The Dell thing was odd, but I guess we wouldn't have gotten those demos elsewhere. They partner with a LOT of stuff....Medal Of Honor for COG, video games in the ATS era. The Camden Summit Q&A was even ended early because some idiot criticized their video game associations. This stuff just draws more people to LP in the end and allows the band to make more money themselves since album sales are downright embarrassing these days for rock bands. You don't see many fans actually buy these products since they are so expensive.

It sadly seems that Rebellion is only picking up internationally. Europe exploded for it last fall. Watch it this summer. No one knew it on Carnivores either. -
We usually stick to just tour/show news when the band is touring, but now that there's a break before The Hunting Party Tour heads to China, we thought we'd post about a recent article that involves Linkin Park. Linkin Park is investing in other companies in a move to make more money, as they shift to have their band as more of a BRAND. The Independent says, "Their new firm Machine Shop Ventures will focus on investing in “early-to-growth-stage consumer-focused companies that align with the band’s ethos of connecting people and innovation through tech and design”, they announced this week in a flurry of jargon." "The band dropped its external management at the end of last year and now organises its business affairs through its own corporate arm. Or as Linkin Park co-lead vocalist and founder Mike Shinoda put it: “Our goal was to build an internal team of diverse talent to support the non-traditional endeavours the band plans to pursue in the coming years.”" Machine Shop's Kiel Berry is featured in an extensive piece titled, "What Happened When Linkin Park Asked Harvard for Help with Its Business Model." "We restructured Machine Shop to focus on innovation through non-traditional business partnerships and creative design thinking. Over the course of a year, we built strong case studies in fashion, design, and technology. Once this groundwork was laid, we realized that the traditional music management model would have to evolve to support these innovation activities. Most management companies consist of music industry professionals and digital departments that support music marketing activities — but what we were trying to do just didn’t exist within that framework. To be clear, we are still in the music business, but creating and selling music now plays more of a supporting role in our overall business mix. As we get ready to headline a five-city stadium tour of China this summer, we are also planning to meet with technology companies, consumer brands, and venture capital firms to discuss opportunities for partnership. Of course we’ll play the shows and meet with fans, as we’ve always done. But along with continuing to make great music, today’s Linkin Park is now better positioned to operate in the ever-evolving cultural and business landscape." Mercedes Benz has come out as a huge sponsor of Linkin Park's new tour in China, with their name being plastered across the tour images several weeks after the original dates were announced. "The Mercedes-AMG C 63 is sportier and more agile, demonstrating performance at every turn. Watch it take to the track in our latest collaboration with Linkin Park." Fans are obviously very connected with Linkin Park online and can see examples of these collaborations all over. Joe is working on a new set of headphones, Mike has launched a new wrist watch, and more. So what do you think? Are the new product associations overwhelming for you as a fan, or do you enjoy the band having their name on many different items? Do you consider Linkin Park more of a brand, or do you continue to think they will always be referred to as just a band?

What in the Kenji beat is from Kenji? It sounds like all Castle to me. I agree we should list it as COG/Kenji. -

https://instagram.com/p/4morzWHYOD/ julienkofficial: We're super stoked to be playing a very special Julien-K show with our new friends The New Division. We began talking to these guys recently about possibly touring the US together. We have been trying for .. years(!!) to find a band that is the right fit and right sound w a like mind as Julien-K, and then we met these guys. We decided to play together here in LA to see how rad the night would be - and we’ve never played Los Globos …. so this will be an amazing show and the beginning of us planning more national dates together. Julien-K fans, we really need your support! Insanely low ticket price for this show and you will LOVE this band! See you there! CA_X Friday, August 7th @ Los Globos. The homepage link is a test thing we're working on for a future LPL project. We'll fix it. Good find on the Petrified intro. No idea on Rob, we just blindly copied/pasted the notes, I'll take a look. Thanks for the heads up. Yeah we should add Synth to the DTB song.

You're right. Yep. http://lplive.net/shows/db/fortminor/20150629 This is what we have right now. I need a full video of Castle Of Glass. It seems Mike did a remix of Castle of Dance M Shinoda Remix from Recharged. Then later on started Kenji over it. Maybe it's best we list it as Castle Of Glass/Kenji. -

I'm shocked he changed the instrumentals for the songs so much....I was really looking forward to Kenji and of course it would be over Castle Of Dance, lol. Cool set. Devil's Drop is extremely random. I kind of thought he would have debuted some epic verse he's never played with FM, like Dedicated or I Have Not Begun or something. I'm shocked at no Enth E Nd but he kept Dolla. One thing is for sure...Until It Breaks is 100x better over WFTE. Apaches is great. I'd go see it. Seems like a cool show. He looks energetic as fuck on Cigarettes, Hands Held High, Remember The Name. And wow he really gave away a lot of the set beforehand. In the interviews he specifically talked about how certain LP songs were FM ideas but made it into the actual LP discography. He mentioned: WFTE, WTCFM, HHH, UIB. Aaaand all 4 played. Spotify playlist had it's Goin' Down, Devil's Drop, etc on it. -

Soundcheck included WYG, High Road, RTN, Believe Me. Last 2 were shortened. During the Meet & Greet, Mike said that there "might be more Fort Minor songs coming. Welcome was just like an opener and now it will be easier to release more songs." -

On June 30th, Linkin Park ends their run of nine North American summer shows in two months by headlining Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It will be the band's first show ever in the city of Milwaukee (eleventh in Wisconsin) and joining them will be A Day To Remember and the recently-added PPL MVR. Linkin Park has played ten shows in Wisconsin before this show, but the latest came in 2008. An interesting fact about Wisconsin is that a review from 2002 states that there was likely a Hybrid Theory (the band) club show in Madison, WI. If this is true, then there were definitely more Hybrid Theory (band) shows that we don't know about...meaning they might have done a U.S. tour at some point. Unfortunately, we probably will never know if that was true or not. Previous LP shows in Wisconsin include Cross Plains 2000, Cross Plains 2000 again, East Troy 2001, Somerset 2001, Madison 2002, Madison 2004, a rare two shows on Projekt Revolution 2004 in East Troy and Somerset, and East Troy 2008. As it is often the case that summer amphitheatres are located a good distance away from the bigger cities, East Troy is about 40 miles away from Milwaukee, similar to Mansfield, MA's distance from Boston. Some amphitheatres are very close to cities like Chula Vista, CA's amphitheatre in relation to San Diego. Anyway, 40 miles is a bit too far for us to say that LP has ever played in Milwaukee before, so this will be their first show there. Since Linkin Park hasn't played in Wisconsin in seven years, here are some interesting facts about the previous Linkin Park shows there! A crazy fact is that the ONLY known time they ever have opened with Points Of Authority was at the East Troy 2001 show on Ozzfest, when they were experimenting with different openers (With You, A Place For My Head, etc). Madison 2002 was the second-to-last time that And One was ever performed live, as it was dropped two shows later for It's Goin' Down (which the band had been rehearsing before the first six shows of the tour). Somerset in 2004 is one of only two full, good recordings we have from Projekt Revolution 2004; don't miss that download if you've never heard it as it's a great show. At East Troy 2008, Mike and Chester came out on Bleed It Out with wigs on, imitating their Ozzfest 2001 dressup day they had. It appears that they mixed the shows up, though, as the wigs in 2001 were in Noblesville, IN from what we can tell instead of East Troy. Both cities were coincidentally played in both 2001 and 2008 too. Anyway, Sweet Child O' Mine was played in the middle of Bleed It Out and it was a good time for all. At the Milwaukee show, Linkin Park will either perform the U.S. Festival set, or the U.S. Festival (Full) set. The only differences you need to know are that the U.S. Festival set has Rebellion in it with no encore, and the U.S. Festival (Full) set has Points Of Authority, Final Masquerade, and Crawling in it with no encore and no Rebellion. LP has a full set time in Milwaukee, so they should be able to play the FULL setlist, but we never know what they'll do. UNFORTUNATELY the moment we've been waiting for since this show with ADTR was announced will not be happening! Jeremy McKinnon from A Day To Remember will not be able to come out for A Place For My Head at this show as he did at Vans Warped Tour 2014 show because A Place For My Head hasn't been seen since January.... After Milwaukee, Linkin Park has just two and a half weeks off before they begin their first-ever tour of China, in July. Five shows are on the Chinese Tour - Nanjing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Chongqing, and Beijing. This will be the only shows in Asia for the album's touring cycle. And five weeks after that, the last tour for The Hunting Party will be in Europe for ten shows. Find all of the tour dates here. There's still time for an LPU Summit to be announced for this year, but it's getting close...do you think we'll see one?

My opinion is going to be different than that of a normal member of both sites, so take it as you want. I highly recommend following both if you want FULL coverage. LPA reports on things that we don't report on, and we report on things LPA doesn't report on. We tend to be more live-oriented and they tend to be more news-oriented. With that said, we all know we cover news here and they cover live stuff there, but they are more extensive on news (ran the scavenger hunt, cover ALL album news, etc) while we are more extensive on live stuff (live guide, wiki, etc). I do truly think that LPL and LPA cover things the FASTEST of all of the sites, but that is strictly just my opinion. One thing I appreciate about LPA is that they haven't changed their forums since (at least) 2003-2004-ish? With LPTimes completely gone, they are seriously one of the only legit archives of LP news that goes back 10+ years, and that's very important. I have utilized their forums many times when researching information to add to our wiki or to a show page. Whether intended or not, their (apparent?) goal of archiving/reporting all news is very appreciated by me. Derek and I talk a good bit these days. Regardless of what other sites think (I've seen a lot of bitching), it's actually a very good thing he is able to interview Mike semi-regularly because it gets us all some quality news. If you compare what Mike says to Derek, you can see he's a little more...open in some ways. He isn't all the "official Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park" character he plays in a lot of the big interviews. He'll openly say like "hmmm...not sure man" or something to Derek, whereas he will make up a generic response to others. They have a good content section on their website for the official discography. Before I get into my biggest "con" with them, I'll say that this could have EASILY happened with LPLive too. There is a big flow of misinformation from Wikipedia to the LPA wiki and vice versa. Due to their wiki being able to be edited publicly, a lot of incorrect facts are often brought here and labeled as "facts", so we have to go through and look at things (like lists and such) more often than we'd like in the forums. A lot of the wrong stuff on Wiki is taken to their wiki, or a lot of the wrong stuff on their wiki is taken to Wikipedia. We were about to launch a wiki at the exact same time and they beat us by about 3-4 days, so we didn't go ahead with it obviously. That's no problem at all because I like the wiki we have on the site now, which leans more towards more hardcore fan stuff (like demos, harder to find songs, etc) in my opinion. Anyway we could be dealing with the same problem here, but it's a problem I'm 99.9% sure they didn't see coming. Hell, we probably notice it more than they do.

New Linkin Park Song? "I'm Not The One"
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Everything Linkin Park
The BMI database has never put an INCORRECT Linkin Park song up before, so if that's the case, this is a first. But the song wasn't up there before.
