  1. The recordings of shows they sold from 2007-2012. Surely you have them from MSG 08, MSG 11?
  2. First of all - welcome. Their management was not making enough money on selling them. Some shows sold like 30-50 per show. And that's their fault for not advertising it...they have the biggest amount of fans on social media than any band and they never posted about it. So they got rid of them. http://lplive.net/forum/?showtopic=9623We did an open letter about them, with no luck. We are trying something else very soon, in August. Stay tuned. We miss them too.
  3. Secure as in not safe for the shows to be there due to the venue? Or secure as in like, it's a bad part of town and there are security problems?
  4. There's no doubt that LP loves playing it, but it is truly one of the worst songs they have ever written. BID and LGM are my two least favorite LP songs they've ever released, and it's funny that they're both on the same album....
  5. They really need to play Rebellion in Europe, those fans love that song. Surely they'll change something. A Place For My Head would be great, too. Ah, I must have misunderstood, I thought like it was an Olympic stadium for the racing or something.
  6. Wow Chester sounds pretty tired in this one. I wonder what's up with his voice. Either an extremely off show for him, or something is up (pollution there? idk). Band isn't jamming much on FTI.
  7. China is already over so we'll recap the short run for you in this thread.... Going way back to the beginning, the China Tour was originally rumored in December 2014 and finally was confirmed and announced in May, only two months before the tour. This was Linkin Park's first visit to China since 2009. They made history in 2007 by being the first large international rock band to play China, and really opened the door for rock music to play the country. Metallica and Muse followed, all the way to present day. The show was such a big success that LP was invited back in 2008 for three stadium shows but had to cancel due to an injury to Chester. A return to Shanghai was penciled in for 2009 and that show was another big success. Sadly, the band was banned from China in 2011 and three planned stadium shows that September were axed, but they finally made their triumphant return this month. This was the largest international band stadium tour to ever play China. The band walked away with a reported $13 million from just these five shows alone. Anyway, on to the shows themselves.... In order, the shows were held in Nanjing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Chongqing, and Beijing. In Nanjing, we saw that China works a little differently for shows. There is no standing general admission part of the crowd, only seats, and the seated part of the floor holds a lot less than you'd think. Still, the stadiums were absolutely massive and were some of the biggest headlining crowds that Linkin Park had ever played to in their career. Next, we saw that social media was banned in the country, but that didn't stop @Linkin_Soul from providing us setup pictures of the shows to live updates during the shows to post-show photos. Not bad! And we all noticed the new production. The band outfitted the stage with huge video screens, adding their best production they've ever had as a band. We'll admit that we're pretty jealous of those screens and lights, especially after the North American festivals recently. Linkin Park's crew did a great job transforming the band's normal show into a huge production fit for stadiums. As far as the setlists went, it was no surprise that LP played the same set at all five shows. The setlist they chose was the one they debuted in Mexico in June, with Fort Minor's Welcome in it and with Points Of Authority surprisingly replacing Rebellion. However, Crawling, which opened the encore in Mexico, was dropped from the Nanjing set and wasn't played at all in China. Sadly, LP decided to not replace it with anything else (A Place For My Head, Rebellion, etc). And to top it off, the government made the band censor all of the songs....which is a first for Linkin Park. Another first for the tour is that the LPU didn't hold their Meet & Greets for the first actual tour ever, which seemed odd. Something was up with Mercedes Benz, though,, because they had Meet & Greets with fans before the shows. Lorenzo made up for this by holding two LPU Meetup events in Shenzhen and Chongqing, where some LPU'ers were selected to meet up with each other and were "surprised" with Linkin Park showing up to shake hands and to take a group picture. To top it off, Joe DJ'ed in Shanghai and Beijing, but apparently only super rich fans could attend those. Anyway, it was a different atmosphere for the LPU in China and it's unlikely that anywhere else in the world will have any issues with M&Gs. Next, there are recordings from four of the five shows, which is very surprising to us. We'll admit...some of us thought we'd have a very hard time even finding out what was played in China because of the social media ban, but China ended up being one of the best tours ever for information coming in from the shows. There are fan recordings from Shenzhen, Shanghai (video coming soon), and and Chongqing (torrent coming soon) and of course, the webcast from Beijing. Check it all out if you want to see some huge production. By making such a big impact on the Chinese music scene and amongst the Chinese fans, it wouldn't surprise us at all if Linkin Park returned in 2016 or 2017, especially since it is a rare place in the world where LP can play stadiums by themselves. We saw München in 2008, Poland in 2014, and upcoming shows in Poland and Berlin this tour be booked at stadiums (probably missing a few), but it is pretty rare for a non-festival show to be at a stadium for Linkin Park. That's all of the positives from the tour... the only negative would probably be that the rumored Keys To The Kingdom (on the list of songs to get approved by the Chinese government) didn't get debuted live. Don't Stay did EXTREMELY well in a fan vote for the tour, for songs the Chinese wanted to see performed live. Maybe the band noticed it, maybe they didn't....only future tours will tell. The song hasn't been played live since August 2008 on Projekt Revolution. Linkin Park's next tour, their FINAL for The Hunting Party, starts in about three weeks in Europe. It's a mix of festivals and headlining shows, as usual, and LP will visit Belarus, a place they haven't been to before. Ten shows are lined up, with an additional two Fort Minor shows in the mix as well. Stay tuned for the full coverage of that tour. And as always, check the 2015 page for all of the setlists, show notes and more from the shows this year. Very last, but not least....some of the crew had a small incident on the way back on their plane, which had huge turbulence and sustained some pretty serious damage. It turned around about 45 minutes into the flight from Beijing to the USA, and everyone is ok. You can see a picture here. Thanks to the crew for all that they do to make these shows happen worldwide, and please be safe in your travels.
  8. Thanks very much for posting this!
  9. Not familiar. I know LPA did remix contests, but not LP.
  10. No Joe on stage on TLTGYA right?
  11. Got the setlist pic today from that show, sorry for the delay. I'll post it shortly. Same set. We didn't add it to the site yet because I knew we had a setlist pic incoming (a few days late).
  12. Oh man, did they really put the lyrics and song titles across the screen? The Papercut video looks terrible with all the stuff on the screen. I've never seen that work before, there is always something fucked up. How would they have the UIB verse, know the Castle stuff, etc? Looks like an in ear problem on Papercut, Chester can't hear what's going on very well.
  13. Really not sure. Ask at LPBits, they are experts at it Social media must REALLY be banned huge in Chongqing...almost zero info (even pics) from last night's show.
  14. With the LP Underground XIII album, Linkin Park visited the Red Bull Studios in Los Angeles to work on two previously-written songs by bands that wanted to win a chance to collaborate with LP. The winners of the contest were Ryan Giles and the band Beta State (who famously gave Mike an iPod with their music on it at the Mountain View 2011 M&G). The announcement in July 2013 read, "LINKIN PARK is searching for a new sound. For the upcoming LPU13 album, LINKIN PARK wants to collaborate with you on your original song. LINKIN PARK is seeking aspiring musicians for this amazing opportunity. With the help of Red Bull Studios and Hard Rock Cafe, you can win a trip to Los Angeles to record with the band*. Your song may even end up on the upcoming LPU13 album due out later this year." In the end, it was more of working from the production side, but Mike did record some keys for the Beta State song and Rob played drums on the Ryan Giles song. An LPTV episode chronicles the work on the Beta State song. Linkin Park recently posted to Twitter the following message, "Congrats to @Zusician on winning the #StageLight #MonthlyMusicContest grand prize. You will be going to @RBStudiosLA with us & @OpenLabs." The band apparently held some sort of StageLight contest for fans, and Zusician (Zayad Hassan) came away as the winner. It is unknown if this song will even be on the LPU 15 release, but the timing is pretty close to the 2013 announcement from the same time. The LPU XIII CD ended up being 12 songs as opposed to the (now standard) 10, meaning that even with these songs we won't be getting less songs than normal on the LPU release. The 12 in 2013 set the longest length for an LPU CD release, too.
  15. Why change it? LP likely doesn't even know what this poll is. They aren't changing the setlist at all in China.
  16. Thanks! Very cool that we have all these sources already. Then a Beijing webcast is coming too.
  17. No Twitter at this one at all it seems.
  18. Good question. You can really hear the difference at the end of the song, like at Rock in Rio Lisboa, when he kneeled down in front of the amp. I thought it sounded cool for a change, but it's not a huge difference. I'm not sure why he does it. I mean I haven't personally even watched a video of Welcome with LP yet....I don't know how exactly it's played. I've been going solely off of the discussion on the forums about it.
  19. We can find that out pretty easily by just asking Ryu on Twitter. He responds to almost everything.
  20. Somehow we missed posting this in 2014, probably because of all the touring going on. Pooch (FOH) and Tater (monitors) did a great two-part video (Setting Up, and Inside the Live Mix) for Waves Live discussing The Hunting Party Tour. They run over their plugins for the show, what effects are put on the band's in ear monitors, and more. In Setting Up, Pooch mentions that they recorded 128 (!) tracks for the live DSP releases. Double that because due to the release, they record each show twice. Side note: The band still records the shows to this day, but the releases stopped in 2012. Stay tuned for more information about that in August. Anyway, Pooch is the man responsible for Linkin Park's incredible live sound and the work he puts into making the show sound so good really pays off. These videos are a great insight into that process. They got all new gear for THP's touring cycle and it took two weeks just for them to set it up and get used to it, before Linkin Park even set foot in the rehearsal space. On Inside The Mix, Pooch breaks down One Step Closer's vocals by Chester and isolates them, showing us what inputs he has on the vocals. He shows what the kick drum sounds like by itself and then with the Pooch special touch added, ha. Pooch and Tater followed up on Carnivores Tour when a few questions arose about those videos and if they had made any changes to their inputs once the touring started, making a part three called On The Stage. Then there's another good one from Pooch from Berlin 2014, the show that was filmed in 4K. He mentions that when using his console he does everything manually to mix the show. And finally, from Rock in Rio USA, Pooch and his friend Big Mick (Metallica's famous FOH engineer, who also mixed Led Zeppelin's London reunion show) sat down for THREE HOURS of discussion about the live shows, gear and more. You can check out highlights and those videos here.
  21. No way they do Frgt10, but that's cool they're on the bill. Linkin Park didn't even know Steve Aoki was at the Lisboa show until they arrived at the venue.
  22. Don't let the headline fool you, this isn't really THAT newsworthy but I've received several messages about the link, so we'll just go ahead and put it up on the homepage for everyone. At the Shanghai press conference before the Chinese Tour began, Chester mentioned that Linkin Park is always writing new music, evidenced by Mike's Snapchats on the plane to China of him working on something. Mike then pulled his phone out and played a few seconds of that new music he was making. It has that slightly electronic vibe to it, similar to ATS, but a lot of Mike's demos have sounded like this in the past. The sound of an album can change a lot, but it's still interesting to get a little peak as to where Mike's thought process is right now for new songs.
  23. Daniel how was your show? I'm interested in how your experience was Was it the best you've seen them?
  24. I really hope they do a Hybrid Theory club show in October. That'd be really great. I'm not sure. He doesn't SEEM to love it based on the shows I saw in 2014-2015....but you never know. He jams way more on Castle Of Dance live than a guitar-heavy song. It's also obvious they are tired of playing some songs (OSC, BID) so many times, every single show. Two songs Brad seems to enjoy playing are ALITS (especially the solo) and the APFMH guitar solo intro into the APFMH intro.
