  1. called it - being a cynic regularly pays off
  2. I think we shouldn't be harassing people over twitter... we know it's going to be broadcast so there's no harm in waiting until then

    Recommend me a DSP

    Cape Town
  4. I would pay good money to see Astat's set B
  5. great performance, I'm confident that COG'll now become a part of the band's main set like LITE, IMR. nice stage design too, but I guess that's a one off
  6. Roads Untravelled would work with that whole My December vibe. but i doubt either of these things will happen. COG likely the only "new" thing
  7. I really liked the Blackout/Papercut mix that was done a while ago. can't remember who did it (reflectionist?) but it was great. I don't often DL fan mixes, but when I do...
  8. sorry, I didn't realise that moving the files out of my DBox folder would invalidate the link
  9. alot of this discussion is about Numb, but I can't see New Divide being dropped soon... it's too new. sure it's a bit of a drag on the DSP sometimes, but I know I'm a fan if I'm watching it for real
  10. I love MTM to bits, but this man speaks the truth
  11. I'll be interested to see how they pull it off live. or if it even works in an award-show setting - casual fans, men in suits...
  12. haha fair enough. Cape Town's DSP is gold. my favourite one since Stockholm
  13. it's not too hard to listen to the DSP and edit stuff in. and there's always going to be time between that to fix all the little things like set numbers/placement. most of the fixes are on show-pages where we haven't had access to the full recording yet. some of the things I've listed from Cape Town are barely important anyway. also, in terms of source corrections - the best people for the job are already on the staff. the last thing we need is someone new who doesn't have as extensive a knowledge on that sort of thing, being given the ability to add/edit sources without the sort of knowledge that someone like say, AndOne has. source times - Johannesberg: 100m 7s Vancouver: 92m 35s
  14. Cape Town '12 http://lplive.net/shows/20121107.php in Given Up, Chester forgot to sing the "tell me" in the line "tell me WHAT the fuck is wro-o-o-ong, with me-e-e" in the penultimate chorus. he let the crowd fill in the last part so the line ended up as - "what the FUCK is wrong with me-e-e-e, [with me-e-e]" Chester also messed up the lyrics to POA's chorus lines - Mike corrects him and Chester remarks at the end "thanks for telling me that line Mike, I couldn't remember it for the entire fucking song... it's funny, i just kept saying the same line over and over again" to which Mike just replied "we forgive you" in WTFE, Chester let the crowd sing the first "wishing I had strength to stand". is this the first time he's done that? should we add in the fact that there were pretty high winds for the show? distortion from the wind on the mics is slightly audible on the DSP at the start of LOATR/SOTD/Iri, but the mixers did a pretty good job removing the distortion from most of the recording, a this is the only place where it's audible on Mike's slipped up on the last line of The Catalyst's chorus, singing "it can't be out-done, It can't be out-done", instead of the correct line "It can't be out-fought, it can't be out-done" the source time is 93m 14s
  15. let's not start this please... did you listen to Faint and Papercut the mixing for Cape Town is bang on. perfect.
  16. this will get posted in the Newswire when we have official confirmation (I assume).
  17. cool news, interesting to see Mike join in w/Camp Freddy camp freddy is a cover band. they usually play a few classic rock songs for events - charity stuff, company events etc.
  18. I did wonder about that part where we see Mike in the vocal booth with Brad all plugged in, but like you say, no real way of knowing. so The Messenger is the first instance of a song that was definitely recorded 'live'
  19. Skin To Bone and/or Until It Breaks will never be singles. they're not radio-material. end of.
  20. they attempted to jam and make a song in one day and it failed. from the documentary, most of the MTM songs were created in their usual "separate parts" way. I'm not saying you're wrong because I wasn't there in the studio with them but it certainly appears as though they didn't break with tradition much during MTM
  21. ok, mine is going to at least be a realistic one - no LPU stuff, and only songs that the band has played live in the past. I don't particularly dislike any of these songs, but I think this would be a terrible setlist it's a mix of the late '11/early '12 set with a few oher adds like Forgotten, ETR and NMS No More Sorrow - boring song, poor opener Somewhere I Belong - overplayed Runaway - dislike this track Easier To Run - as above Empty Spaces When They Come For Me - Waiting For The End w/JdM is better than these two Leave Out All The Rest - drags too much Lies Greed Misery - bit of an odd one for crowds, it doesn't conduct movement or singing Crawling - overplayed Shadow Of The Day - i like the song, but... Numb - getting a little tired of this one Burning In The Skies - was glad it did get played at some point, but not one i'd go nuts for Wisdom, Justice And Love Iridescent - meh! The Catalyst - good song, but i dunno, it's a bit of a filler In The End - tiring hearing this over and over again Breaking The Habit - a head-bobber not a "TUNE" so to speak What I've Done - tired song------------------------------- Burn It Down - my least favourite LT track Forgotten - barely exciting as a track Pushing Me Away (Piano Version) - yawn One Step Closer - "oh, the show's over - that setlist was shit!"
  22. I don't think it's possible to compare Chester's voice from 2006 (5 shows) and 2012 (~53 shows)
  23. it's all about the live echo. and Chester's scream at the beginning anyway, back on topic now ...
  24. as much as I'm not too fussed with making my own tracklist, I will state that I cannot agree more with Mark's comment about the 2006 live/studio versions of QWERTY
