  1. and my point was that not all of us can afford to travel/book rooms/miss work etc. we're not all loaded with cash. personally, I live off a student loan and am tied to a timetable, I can't afford to spend upwards of £150 to see one show - do you know how expensive UK trains are? I can barely go home and see my family all term, so how could I justify using that sort of money to see a band!? I'm in my final year of my degree, and I'm not planning on pissing my time up the wall to and forfeiting my chances of getting a good result by missing valuable days of lectures and writing time. I love the band's music, but it's not my entire life, I kind of have aspirations beyond sitting on a forum all day... I wasn't moaning about there being no shows in my country, since alot of the band's recent tours increasingly seem to only take really limited areas of these places into account. I was expressing disappointment that I'm sure a number of fans will have about this. I am not moaning. yes, I'm slightly annoyed with myself that I couldn't get organised in 1st year fresher's week to get to Birmingham 2010, and that I'd already booked Sonisphere '11 and couldn't afford to go to Download too, but these were opportunities I missed because of limitations I'd brought on myself, not limits that the band placed on me - I was given the option to go, but couldn't. this is different. why are we discussing these dates as legit anyway? they haven't even been confirmed yet, so "pinch of salt" and I'll hold my opinion until I see real dates...
  2. the part where they're not in block capitals. 01. Each Word 02. Worst Of Me 03. Cycles 04. Coffin Nail 05. Through Tomorrow 06. Hardly Anything 07. Riot 08. Vacancy 09. Right/Left/Left/Right 10. Rising Waves 11. Tremors 12. Royal Flush
  3. seeing a guy with a camera sellotaped to a tree branch would be awesome. my day has been made slightly less brighter
  4. that and the band and crew would not have known the victim's name at that point either. apparently the family are not allowing the press to reveal her name anyway.
  5. by the sounds of it, whenever it is they email you back to tell you you've been picked for it
  6. cancelling shows is disappointing for fans, but I truly agree with what Ryan said. I don't think this excuses how petty and childish Ryan became over the criticisms though... I know bands that have gone under and are facing bankruptcy and all sorts simply due to a van breakdown -> show cancellations -> less promotion -> lack of merch/CD sales -> no moeny to fix the van... independent small bands have it really tough
  7. you'll only hear the wind from the crowd microphones, and they only get turned up at certain points during songs. plus they'll have had wind mufflers on them so the noise probably hasn't even been picked up in the mix.
  8. it always baffles me as to how they patch in something like "San Diego" out of nothing, I guess he said it at some other point in the show. in fact, it annoys me that they patch in things that didn't happen or stuff gets removed for seemingly no real reason... I guess it would make the Numb outro sound better having Chester sing on it (might that have been due to a technical glitch on the live PA's mix?) but taking out his Mike's interaction is just odd... also, to clarify for whoever updates the DSP notes: this is referring to Mike, not Chester (as I assumed just now ) also, at 2.43 on that vid (you'll need to skip to a few secs earlier) you can hear that Joe makes the tiniest mistake known to man on the sample, playing the 5th note in place of the usual 4th note. he holds the 5th longer to cover the mistake and carries on as normal after that. I have no idea if this is also edited in the DSP the note is muffled on the DSP
  9. would there be licensing restricitons on that since they could get a new license on the original and re-do it as their own cover (even if it's a very, very, very, very similar version of the Orgy cover) although JK releasing it for money might be one kick in the balls too far. I don't hink they'd be want to be 'low' about stuff like that
  10. (I'll repeat what I said in the shoutbox) this totals 2 deaths at LP shows this year from structures surrounding, but not in the venues themselves and is therefore outside of the crew's jurisdiction. particularly with Jim Digby's recent drives to lobby for event safety, this must be a pretty ahrd blow to the band and crew.
  11. or better still, links to interviews and sources would be good. alot of what's being said in this thread is getting hard to track as legitimate
  12. nice collection! I love how many people say "I'm new to this" and they have loads of stuff, it's nice to see let me guess who won the LPL Music For Relief auction then...?
  13. I agree that Stockholm '11 is one of the better DSPs
  14. yeah, i know.it's kind of disappointing though.
  15. this. so this. and out of time vocal parts, it drives me nuts
  16. i disagree with pretty much all of what you've just said, you're entitled to your opinion on considering DBS and FM average, i for one, don't particularly enjoy FM but... 1. mike and chester bring such different things to LP that they need ways to express themselves as themselves not as the 6 layers of democratic compromise that LP operates on. 2. J-K do it because Chester asked them to, they're clearly good friends and I don't see why everyone takes people's enjoyment in making music and reduces it down to money. i like the added electro tinge to DBS and i don't think that's Chester's thing, it's a 2 way partnership.
  17. what he said. it was one of the ones sent out with the LT remix package
  18. yep! New Order -> Orgy -> Julien-K I believe the term is "yo dawg..."
  19. this was way more watchable than the actual music video...
  20. of course, having no crowd mics would make the show sound dead and awful. I think my DVD version of Clarkston MI '07/08(?) has just the show audio and it's a terrible DVD because of it... yeah, I think this is the right version of it - skip to 3.40 and you'll hear how crap it sounds without the "I'll" from the crowd, that and Phoenix (i think) fucks up majorly right after that point, it sounds awful. I'd rather have bad transitions every time
  21. if anything, I'm hoping these are fake. i would like to see the band play more than just one date in one city for each country they stop in... it's not cool on the fans to have such limited dates
  22. wow, i wish we were able to hear this set. ahh well, you win some you lose some.
