  1. Mike talked about this when he let some unsigned bands promote their music on his blog. He picked his favorites and posted some information about them: sound, myspace links,...The band in question was called Circle of Contempt. Check them out !
  2. I don't think we will get something from DBS soon. The whole thing seems done now, and Chester is focusing on LP. This means no new singles/new videos/20 eyes studio cover/Vegas DSP/....Maybe in 4 or 5 years, if the band comes out of the water for a new record, there could be a chance to get old unreleased material...
  3. In the past, I though I was a crazy LP fan. It was a long time ago.... All I can say is that I've got about 300 LP songs on my computer. If I count the DBS-FM-Grey Daze related-stuff, it probably tops the 400 tracks....I know it looks totally ridiculous if you compare that to your collections, but most of the artists I listen to are represented by 50 to 100 songs. So, for me, 400 is already a big number, if you get what I mean....
  4. I have to join the general opinion on this one...Songs like Figure.09, Forgotten, and Hit The Floor are really underrated. Mainly Figure.09, which could have been a perfect single, what would have assure the song to be still played live nowadays. Seconded.
  5. That was exactly my thought when I saw this thread! BTW, I've wanted to see at least one Metal/entirely screamed/f*cking heavy LP song for years....And I'm still hoping for it. The band members are claiming there are no boundaries in music since MTM-era, and also, they like extreme music as well (Mike promoting a Death Metal band on his blog, LP bringing screamo bands with them on tour,...). So, theoretically, there are some possibilities for my dream to come true...
  6. Rock Am Ring 2001 version of "And One" still remains as one of my favorite LP performance ever. It sounds so powerfull...and the way Chester sings the line "No one to hear me, to heal my ill heart, I"...epic!
  7. Weird. I was at some DBS shows, and people appreciated this version, singing along with it and Chester. Same in the video of Melkweg show. Those who booed apparently didn't have humor at all...
  8. I'd say LP is a decent live band. Nothing spectacular, but they still deliver quality shows. However, it's obvious that they were way better back in the days...And that at different level: energy, originality, contact with fans....I'm saying that because of all the videos I've seen on the web....Never been to one of their shows, so maybe my opinion isn't objective
  9. Reckless with drugs/alcohol or not, this isn't the problem. I was saying that in a more general way...Yes, in this case, his drug/alcohol addiction is probably the reason why he died, but anyway, everyone will have to leave one day. Sometimes, we forget it's also applicable with our favorite musicians/ comedians/whatever.
  10. This is very sad...It makes remember that anything can happen to anyone, famous or not. I hope the band will continue their career though. R.I.P.

    LPL 4

Hope to see this version soon. And thanks a lot for the hard work put into this project! It has been more than a year since I'm visiting LP live and I've always seen discussions about the now-famous LPL4
  12. I didn't know him...Neither for his work in Black Sabbath or for that : \m/. The fact is that I like Blask Sabbath music and I'm a big user of the devil horns... Shit, I'm ashamed for not having heard of him before he died. R.I.P. \m/
  13. It was a great question! And more great is the fact that he responded to it
  14. After 100000 demos done, after 10000000 chorus done for each of them, after 1000000 instruments tested for each melody, we will now have the 1000000000 mix for each of these songs! I'm afraid Mike gets interned in a psychiatric asylum because of excessive maniaco-disease...seriously...
  15. I'm really anxious about the artwork of the new album. Speaking about art, MTM was shitty compared to all their other records (official/live/LPU/...).
  16. I'd say I believe in this. (99%) Come on people, it's only a press conference in 1 or 2 months. It's not like they (LP Brazil) were saying the album would drop in juny or july...If the release date is revealed during this press conference, it would mean new record coming out in end of 2010/beginning of 2011, which is what we are all betting. So this information is pretty possible.
  17. Seems interesting....NIN is insane, Reznor is pure music genius. Wonder how is the combination between his voice and Chester's one.
  18. Yes, I know. I'm a big listener of music, don't worry, and there are tons of albums who deserve attention: new Deftones (wich is great, indeed), new Cypress Hill, new Crystal Castles, Slash solo album,...and also old ones wich can be considered as new if you have never listened to them (I've been really into Anthrax those days). I was only complaining about LP, not about other artists
  19. At this point, it's almost sure we won't get a new album this year...(at least to me) According to what Mike said, they are close to the mixing phase...So let's say they would begin this in june. Then we would have to wait 3 months more. And then still a month for finalizing the record (packaging,...). After that, LP would have to go through all promotion stuff, which takes a lot of time (remember that an album is never released immediatly after he's finished). Let's say 3 or 4 months more. So, all in all: June + 3 months + 1 month + 3 or 4 months = january or february 2011... And if LP gets involved with another project like New Divide or 8BR, it could be even later... SHIT! LP is really to f*cking slow in putting out new records. It's such a shame to have to wait 3-4 years between each release! And I hates how Mike's pretending the album is "in progress". Man, it has been 3 damn years since the album is "in progress"! I know that complaining is not going to make the things better, but I'm angry, and want to express it...Anyway, I'm afraid about the upcoming LP tour...Don't think it's going to happen in 2010 either...Wish I'm wrong but...
  20. Great idea, indeed!! LPL seems more and more complete. ;-) The "One Step Closer" performance in Milan is probably the one in wich Chester has screamed "Shut up" the more times in his live
  21. Happy Birthday! As I'm thinking about it, MTM was released only a week after your birthday in 2007...Should have been a great gift!!!
  22. Oh...f*ck! I was a bit sceptical when I read this, but wow, those songs are awesome. This guy has a really good voice, he should do something more significant with it.
  23. Well...Like some other guys have said here, the problem is not that LP isn't giving us updates about how the new record will sound like. I can totally understand that, because that politic don't let us fall into any form of exceptations, which means we will listen the new music for itself, without comparing it to what it was supposed to sound like. What is getting on the fan's nerves is that the band hasn't informed us since months about how the album progress is going. Are they still making new songs? Are they mixing? We don't know anything....Honestly, LP could even be on hiatus at this time that it wouldn't be a surprise for me. I know it isn't the case, but shit, we need news
  24. 1)Across the Line One of my favorite LP song to date. I really love the vibe in it, and the progression from the dancing intro to the heavy bridge and the rock end is cool too. All in all, a great track which should have end up on MTM. 2)Blackbirds Even if I was disappointed by a "Ballad? Again?" kind of effect, I have to admit that I like this song. Cool melody. 3)New Divide An average LP song in my opinion. But apparently it's awesome live, according to what I've read in this thread...So third. 4)Lockjaw Incredible instrumental, maybe too short though. 5)We Made it Since LP has played it live in its own setlist during Projekt Rev 2008, and since it's a post-MTM track, I'm also rating it. The piano part totally makes it for me, but Chester chorus is too repetitive. 6)Not Alone I don't really like this song. Not that bad, but not good either. Hightlight of it : the electronic bridge/outro.
  25. Really interesting post. I've always been thinking it's a bit sad that performers bands are becoming more rare nowadays. Not that I've something against "protools-users" and artists working a lot on computers, but music is way more authentic/honnest/natural/...when it comes from a jamming session. Moreover, in my opinion, performing live in front of a crowd, seeing people turning crazy while listening at your music is the best part of being a musician. I can't imagine how some artists can have a career without this aspect of their job.
