  1. I'm devo. I spent the night setting up so I'd be ready to listen (and record this)... only to be held up getting to sleep by trying to cancel my Xbox Live subscription before it automatically removed. Slept through my alarm and only managed to hear the tail-end of the song
  2. Think that works out to 2:30AM in WA time Will I wake up for it? Of course
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzTbrtsMUVA So much for it looking cheap! Anyone who didn't think Ghost Town would go to (pardon the pun) town on this one was kidding themselves!
  4. Awesome. Works out to 2AM where I'm at though Bit of a shame they're only likely to be playing BURN IT DOWN (and probably TINFOIL) from LIVING THINGS at this show. Would have been boss to hear another new track!
  5. Did I just see a standing ovation? Good performance, though the stream I was watching was terrible - will have to wait until a better rip surfaces.
  6. Yo peeps, just watching MTV News (Australia) and they are saying that they'll have a 'Linkin Park exclusive' later in the week. The timing would suggest that it's the Burn It Down video - but given that rumors are circulating about a possible headline appearance at the Soundwave music festival next year, it could be that too. Either way, just a heads up so peeps with Foxtel can keep an eye out.
  7. If they do, that'd be excellent - because then I'd be going to both, in almost all of the cities Haha
  8. If this does prove to be true then consider myself (and several other LP fans I've spoken to about this) devastated. Of all the festivals to hit Australia, Soundwave is by far the best. Having said that, there's nothing worse than seeing your favorite band at a festival. It's likely to be full of tards who will spend the duration of the set yelling "PLAY HYBRID THEORY". It'll be an absolute struggle to get to the front of the pit and then you're usually stuck with bogan d*ckheads whose sole purpose appears to be to annoy everybody in sight for the duration of their day. Don't get me wrong. Any LP Australia tour announcement will be joy for me... but I'd prefer it to be for their own headline shows.
  9. If another clue is dropped in Australia over the next 2 weeks, I've got both Perth and the Gold Coast (Queensland) covered I'm talking I'm prepared to leave my desk at work and drive straight to the location - don't care what time!
  10. I'm calling legit. Even if it turned out to be fake, I'd want to know who made this because I love it. Quality was poo but can definitely get a grasp of what the song will sound like. LP never fail to impress me
  11. Long time no post! Just thought I'd swing by and mention that if you go to the Aussie iTunes store, you can listen to a minute thirty preview of the song... which is obviously a fair chunk of it. I'm curious to hear how the remainder of the song progresses.
  12. Excellent quality for an MPEG file. Really can't see that being improved upon unless the show is eventually aired in HD - and I really hope that it is since it is one of the better live recordings I've seen. Will no doubt be watching this again tonight It'd be fantastic if they incorporated this onto the Dark Of The Moon Blu-ray. They would certainly have the space for it on the special features disc.
  13. stream is running absolutely beautifully for me... will be recording it hopefully. are LP up really soon or am i an hour off.... its 3am where i am so not so awesome being up for neon trees right now
  14. Yep, hence why I said you need special screens to use those glasses
  15. Hey guys, This is an area I'm pretty well versed in so just thought I'd share my two cents, as well as give you some information you may not be aware of. The original video was shot and presented in 2D. Those red/cyan effects seen in the original video are not there to provide a 3D picture. Besides the fact that it simply doesn't work, you will notice that those effects are only present on the sides of the picture. For it to have been a 3D video, those colours would be present throughout the entire picture and not limited to the sides only. This new upload on the other hand, is presented in 3D. The best method to watch this video is to download the 'Side By Side' version and watch it on a 3DTV. You don't need to use the old-school red and blue glasses to see the 3D image, which only serves to discolour the picture and provide a far less effective 3D effect. Also, your glasses from the cinema won't work. Those are called 'passive 3D glasses' and require special screens in order to use them. Understandably, not everyone will have access to a 3DTV. You can still view it in Side By Side format, but you'll need to watch the video cross-eyed... which is hardly ideal. YouTube of course lets you change the 3D format, but I believe the other methods require the coloured glasses to watch it My thoughts after seeing the video in 3D? It was very clear throughout the video that it wasn't natively shot that way and instead converted in post. If you want proof, check out the credits at the end - the 3D work was done by Passmore Lab. As far as 2D to 3D conversions go, this one was pretty top notch. I'd love to see it without the heavy compression prevalent on the YouTube upload, but unless it is included on the Transformers: Dark Of The Moon 3D Blu-ray, I suspect it is something we will never see (unless of course, you see it at the cinema ). Note: to prove my point about the above red/cyan effects being intentional and not for 3D purposes - they are still seen in the Side By Side 3D video. Doing a little bit of digging on Passmore Labs, I found out that they have also converted the Waiting For The End video to 3D! Where the hell is this and why haven't we seen it?! Check http://www.passmorelab.com/films/ and go to the Music Videos section ;P
  16. I loved hearing the TF3 remix of Iridescent. The crowd were absolutely stellar in their response to it also - in fact, until seeing/hearing the MTV pro-shot version today, it was almost impossible to hear the song in the audience recordings due to the (quite well synced) crowd clapping
  17. Sweet as... had a feeling this would be the live debut of the new version of Iridescent. May end up being the only time it is ever played live... guess that will depend on reaction/response to the performance. Did anyone else get the email about this? Think it was just sent within the last half hour. Looks like they may be doing something really special production/staging/lighting wise... Apparently Michael Bay even got involved! Sounds like it is going to be one hell of a gig, including the setlist. Really wish I was going! Edit: Ha! You beat me to it Thomas!
  18. Hmmm. Wonder if we're going to get the Transformers edit of the song played live for the first time? The fact that they haven't played this version on the current tour so far led me to think not, but the fact that that song is now going to be broadcast everywhere makes me think they might flip it to that version (if only for this performance). Interesting to see. Can't wait (for that and the movie )!
  19. I'd love to chime in on one very ignorant post a couple of pages back, but I believe the staff and moderators of this site have been very informative (and correct) in their rebuttals. I agree with pretty much everything they have said. Pretty obvious why these guys run this site
  20. That was pretty boss. I only managed to listen to a bit of it (at the office right now). Will check out the rest when I get home
  21. MTV videos don't play on the iPhone unfortunately - something to do with the version of Flash that it uses unless I am mistaken. Pez man, I just checked the LP app and while it does contain the news update regarding the video, it simply links to the linkinpark.com page - video on that page also won't load on the iPhone. (I decided to bring my laptop in to work, tethered my iPhone to it for net connection and checked it out that way lol).
  22. You won't need a 3D TV to view this one - the red/blue colours are the signature look of an anaglyphic 3D video (the format that requires red/blue coloured glasses). Once the video is in a downloadable format, I can use a program to separate the left and right eye images (if they are indeed set up that way) and then we will know for sure if the video was produced in 3D
  23. I'm going to reserve judgment until I see this in full 1080p. For an example as to why? - in the 35-second low-res preview clip MTV had on their page, you couldn't even tell it was the outline of Optimus Prime over Chester's head towards the end of the clip - in the high-res version on the Linkin Park iPhone app - it was as clear as day, along with several other small elements that simply do not register in a low-resolution video. Having said that, I am (so far) ever so slightly disappointed in the video... I was really expecting things to pick up at the bridge and go out with a bang... instead it just seemed to revert to regular speed instead of slo-mo. As for the Transformers thing - it's the lead single for Transformers: Dark Of The Moon. The single released is the Transformers edit and it was released as promo for the movie - of course it was going to have Transformers in it The colours seen specifically towards the edges of the video certainly suggest anaglyphic 3D but I am yet to test it (plus, I'd rather wait for the 1080p version before doing that ).
  24. Hmmm... unless I'm mistaken, it wasn't used in Waiting For The End was it? Yes the band were shown completely stationary and rotating, but that's pretty different to slow motion.
