  1. MTV videos don't play on the iPhone unfortunately - something to do with the version of Flash that it uses unless I am mistaken. Pez man, I just checked the LP app and while it does contain the news update regarding the video, it simply links to the linkinpark.com page - video on that page also won't load on the iPhone. (I decided to bring my laptop in to work, tethered my iPhone to it for net connection and checked it out that way lol).
  2. You won't need a 3D TV to view this one - the red/blue colours are the signature look of an anaglyphic 3D video (the format that requires red/blue coloured glasses). Once the video is in a downloadable format, I can use a program to separate the left and right eye images (if they are indeed set up that way) and then we will know for sure if the video was produced in 3D
  3. I'm going to reserve judgment until I see this in full 1080p. For an example as to why? - in the 35-second low-res preview clip MTV had on their page, you couldn't even tell it was the outline of Optimus Prime over Chester's head towards the end of the clip - in the high-res version on the Linkin Park iPhone app - it was as clear as day, along with several other small elements that simply do not register in a low-resolution video. Having said that, I am (so far) ever so slightly disappointed in the video... I was really expecting things to pick up at the bridge and go out with a bang... instead it just seemed to revert to regular speed instead of slo-mo. As for the Transformers thing - it's the lead single for Transformers: Dark Of The Moon. The single released is the Transformers edit and it was released as promo for the movie - of course it was going to have Transformers in it The colours seen specifically towards the edges of the video certainly suggest anaglyphic 3D but I am yet to test it (plus, I'd rather wait for the 1080p version before doing that ).
  4. Hmmm... unless I'm mistaken, it wasn't used in Waiting For The End was it? Yes the band were shown completely stationary and rotating, but that's pretty different to slow motion.
  5. Excuse me sir, what exactly defines the true LP? I believe the true LP are the ones who are creating the music THEY want to make and not the music that YOU want to hear. Your argument, besides being totally ridiculous, is also completely contradictory. Back onto topic: I like what I see so far. I've really enjoyed these ATS music videos. Don't get the criticism of the use of slo mo. Besides the fact I don't recall seeing any of it in those 35 seconds, it's a commonly used technique and I think it can look really impressive if used correctly - and Joe certainly does know how to use it correctly. I get the sense that the video will change to colour during the bridge of the song... would be an odd decision to have the entire music video for a song called 'Iridescent' in black and white ;D PS. Did I see Shockwave during that teaser?
  6. Has anyone noticed what looks like a piece of that spaceship seen in the Transformers: DOTM teaser trailer in the background while Phoenix is speaking on that MTV first look video?
  7. Haha! I remember that! I remember seeing it for the first time at the cinemas and thinking *Dear God I hope that is not the only time this song plays during the movie!*
  8. Well I guess this now serves as confirmation that the song will also be used throughout the movie (the intimate moments between Sam and Carly). It will no doubt appear in the pre/during credits sequence the last two songs appeared in as well. Based on what Steve said in that video - I'm going to assume they'll use the piano stem (no vocals or other instruments) as background music to those during-movie scenes?
  9. It's not exactly hard to grab off that SoundCloud site Besides, it's a song both Pez and I already own, will no doubt be buying multiple copies of (physical/digital) and I didn't directly state that I was sharing it either... Just said that I had it (Sneaky sneaky! Haha). Anyways, everyone seen that MTV interview with Mike where he talks a little bit about why it was chosen? Pretty cool. Michael Bay thought the song and its themes were fitting for the tone/happenings of this film
  10. Hmm. People keep saying that this song doesn't fit the movie and they should have used Blackout or Wretches & Kings. I'm going to make the assumption that the vast majority of people saying this haven't seen the previous films. Iridescent, and this mix in particular, is absolutely perfectly suited to where the song will no doubt be placed in the film (ie, the moments before, during and after the credits begin). Keep in mind that this is the last film in Bay's Transformers trilogy - the song most definitely has a 'finality' about it. If the movie ends how many have speculated (the heroes win, but not without great loss/sacrifice), then I don't see any other song from 'A Thousand Suns' fitting better! Oh and Pez man, I have the MP3... Facebook me tonight!
  11. It's quite obvious where this is going to be placed in the film... In fact, I'd say even the timing is obvious. The 'hard/quick cut to credits' technique used in... I don't know... both of the movies preceding this one will be used again - with the Chester part of 'Let it go!' starting as this happens - so the final minute of this new version will play over the credits and probably a shortened version of the first 3 minutes will play just prior to the credits. Very fitting for the tone of the third film. People following the film are predicting a sad, yet triumphant ending (ie, they have won but not without great loss/sacrifice). It's quite clear then that this song(/sound) fits that kind of thing.
  12. Excited by this. I enjoy the Transformers movies immensely. Yes, the first was better than the second. Yes the second had its fair share of issues, but it did what it was supposed to do - ie, entertain. For those who don't know, the sequel fell victim to the writer's strike that happened a couple of years ago. You can look up the full story but the writer's strike basically led to the first draft of the script being developed by Michael Bay himself (writing clearly not his strong point) that was developed (in a rush) once the strike was over. Given that they have acknowledged the shortcomings of the second one (the Twins, the corny humour, etc), I'm confident they will have (at least partially) learned from their mistakes and we'll get a far stronger movie as a result. I totally see that Autobot image being the single cover - seems the correct shape for a physical CD single (which I'm sure will see an overseas release). Also wouldn't be surprised if the music video is being filmed using the same 3D camera rig that Bay used to film the movie - pretty sure that Joe/Chester said in an interview that they were looking into 3D technology for future projects - this could be it? It's probably nothing, but that small moon you click on to take you to the teaser page has a glitch that occurs every few seconds. That glitch is the old-school 3D format known as 'anaglyph' (red/blue). As for the leather comment on Joe's twitter account - besides being funny as hell, all I expect that would mean is one (or more) of the guys in the video clip have a leather jacket on... and that there will more than likely be Transformers in the music video. EDIT: Does anyone else think that Joe's 'optimistic' twitter update could have been a very vague reference to Optimus Prime? ;D
  13. funny thing is... i can totally see iridescent fitting into the end of the movie (and leading into the credits) as per the last 2 films... i couldn't see this fit with BitS. using T1 as a template... the beginning, slower part of the song begins just as the big baddie is defeated - destruction all around but the good guys realise they've won and it's all over... song starts to build up as we see each character's resolution... bridge/guitar section starts as optimus gives his concluding speech - 'LET IT GO' starts as credits begin. i just hope that's how it will be used - would be craptacular if MB only uses it for a few seconds during the movie
  14. haha i just saw myself again... that makes it my third LPTV appearance!!! wooo! think i saw kurt too?
  15. hmmm i dunno... the end of BitS would make a good fit for the credits... but the beginning of the song just doesn't have that punch that WiD and ND gave the end of the first two transformers movies oh i wouldn't say it was dead... despite the critical savaging RotF copped - it made more world-wide than the first one and is sitting in the top 20 of all time world-wide i think? unless he makes a vast improvement over the second though - i see the third one making less... but then again it does have the 3D surcharge which always adds more box office dollars... ugh who knows! hehe
  16. if its the one im thinking of then yeh something went wrong at the show - i remember the expression on joe's face... priceless!
  17. haha just very lucky timing on my behalf!
  18. confirmed to be 'burning in the skies' as per mike's twitter about 2 minutes ago i wonder if that means there is no truth to the transformers 3 rumours? unless bay is currently looking at a song and it won't be burning in the skies?
  19. i loved the WFTE video too and i didn't think much of given up either, so you're not alone! given up was made well and the footage was great but i just dont like a lot of live videos in general - i think exception to the rule for me would have to be 30STM's closer to the edge music video... get pumped every time i see that video
  20. latest rumour says michael bay selected burning in the skies for transformers 3 - so it was held off release until the movie comes out and another single substituted for the time being. quite funny - i discussed this with some friends who are only casual fans of LP - response i got was 'why... burning in the skies has been getting played heaps on radio lately, now it's going to disappear and another song instead?' still think BitS is a completely wrong choice for T3. imagine blackout in it? wasn't there a transformer called blackout?
  21. why would it be fail? people who don't like 3D (baffling!) can watch it in 2D, and the people who like it in 3D can watch it in 3D! we see our daily life in 3d... why do our music videos need to be flat i say! wonder if joe took my comment on his blog seriously then? i posted aaaaages ago that waiting for the end (think it was that, could have been catalyst) was practically screaming to be shot in 3D... he responded that he was already onto 4D... lol!!! i used my 3D tv to convert waiting for the end to 3D - results were pretty impressive... but obviously no way near as good as what it would have been if it was shot natively in 3D. i welcome this approach!
  22. i was hoping that would be the case but i read online somewhere recently that she dumps sam? think it was in some long-ass interview with michael bay... would have to have a look for it edit: found it! Source: http://collider.com/michael-bay-interview-...ay-visit/63824/ pretty insightful article in terms of the 3d shoot, etc, for those interested in that kind of thing
  23. maybe BitS will be played when mikaela dumps sam!
  24. if this turns out to be true then great news IMO. i've always seen LP as a staple part of the transformers film franchise. the first is one of my favourites and although the second had its magnitude of problems, i still enjoyed it. on first viewing i was deeply disappointed, but once i accepted the partial change in tone from action movie to an (almost) adventure movie, i enjoyed it more. as adaminator1 already said - the film was an unfortunate victim of the writer's strike - and of course, with studio pressure... was pushed into production when it really should have been held back. the good thing is bay himself has acknowledged the problems with the second and promises to make up for it with the 3rd (we shall see). one thing... i don't see burning in the skies being the big lead song for the movie... do any of you?
  25. i would have been able to play this last night - if it weren't for the fact that the "brand new" copy of the game i purchased from EBgames looked like this: not happy at all - disc wouldn't even read. i've since purchased another copy today (and $10 cheaper) from JB Hi Fi and the disc looks much better
