  1. The Catalyst just wouldn't have worked for the Aussie festival crowd. Those of you who live here can probably attest to this as well. The song just isn't very well known here and to play one like that which lasts for 6 minutes, you run a severe risk of completely derailing the show (crowd response-wise). Songs like COG and LITE they can get away with since they're so short. Having said that, placing COG and LITE together in the set almost had the exact same effect. Anyone who was at these shows would probably agree that this was the point where the crowd died off most. Luckily, things picked up tenfold once the big singles started coming in after that point.
  2. Missy is the lovely lady in the purple shirt. She normally runs the Music For Relief stuff at each of the shows but on this tour was helping out with press/media and running the meet and greets. She was so extremely helpful and very well trained in her job. Don't think I've ever met a lovelier person involved with the LP camp. I'm about to start looking into whom/where I can send a big thank you email directed to her for all her hospitality over the Australian tour with me and my friends on the multiple meet and greets we attended.
  3. I don't even know how you got net reception at the Soundwave shows hey! You with Optus? That would probably explain it - Bianca was getting reception all day at Perth.
  4. Hehe, I love how many people doubted the authenticity of the Harlem Shake bridge until that video surfaced... What? Wasn't mine and Pez's word enough proof? Sheesh! ;P
  5. No probs guys... was good to be able to ask Mike something a little different compared to what some of the other people at meet and greets ask them. Mike was genuinely interested so I expect good things will come
  6. Ha, thanks for the mention guys Has been an awesome trip so far (including not one, but FOUR meet and greets so far). I'm going to be supplying set list updates at this show too but it's quite difficult to access the web when there are that many people using phone data at the same time. I've been texting Tom the set list so he can post on my behalf but happy to add any admins from here onto the text list if you want direct updates too?
  7. Anyone at the M&G tonight as well?
  8. W. T. F?!?! Has he said why? Even on their own headline shows?! Well that's a massive, massive let down if that's the case.
  9. VICTIMIZED didn't go down too well at Brisbane. I mean, no one scoffed at it but it seemed like no one knew it either. My guess is that's why it was dropped. Don't think it was even on the set list to begin with for the Sydney Soundwave show.
  10. Word for word "fuck that song, let's play A Place For My Head!"
  11. Haha nice to see my show notes above with no credit! All G. Apologies for the late set list updates, zero phone reception in the venue! Ask away for anything I may have missed in my original tweets.
  12. The Soundwave sets are 75 minutes, not 45 So should be enough time for 16-18 songs. I can tweet the setlists if I get a good spot. Probably won't be recording today's show so very likely to be tweeting instead.
  13. Yep! Was announced via Facebook over the weekend - deep apologies from the band and all that. People are going nuts. I can totally see where both sides are coming from. Can't blame the guy for not being able to do it. But can also see why people are furious that this was announced pretty much a week out from the first show. Normally people don't consider absent drummers to be a deal breaker, but Travis has a pretty huge profile, so can understand the massive disappointment - it's being dubbed as Blink 18... With the set list - how unusual then that that one says Headline Set A while the other specifically states Australia. Bizarre! I remember everyone freaked out when Mike said that and naturally assumed it would be the debut of Blackout. Then ended up getting the bonus of both songs being debuted. That was a really great show and one of my favourites from that tour.
  14. Please excuse me if I've missed something, but where did the original pic come from? Bit odd that there's already a printed copy of the Australian headline set floating about, no less one with black gaffa tape around it? If that's the headline set then I'd be fine with it. Sure, I'll be disappointed not to hear POWERLESS live. But it's still early days for CASTLE OF GLASS and we haven't had a Linkin Park show in Australia since late 2010. But yeah, it certainly won't compare to the live debut of Blackout and Burning In The Skies that we got last time I'll never forget how Mike said at the M&G that took place before that show 'we're debuting a new song tonight that starts with the letter B'. Cheeky mofo! I'm definitely wanting to hear A Place For My Head open most (if not all) of the Soundwave shows. I think that song will get the crowd into a good place for the rest of the set. Not sure who mentioned it earlier, but I don't think the other bands at Soundwave could 'laugh' at this set... they've had more hits (which are in the set) than most of the bands on the bill. Oh and with Travis Barker now deciding not to come to Australia for the shows - that's been a massive blow for Blink.
  15. Grr. Still wish that LP had a longer set. You'd think being the second name on the bill they'd get longer than Paramore, Blink, etc. Ah well, can't complain since we're seeing them multiple times hey Pez?
  16. I'll find out for you today dude Anywhere in particular in Europe? The disc itself is $16.99 AUD.
  17. Don't think there ever has been? Can anyone else confirm that?
  18. Sorry? A case of lost in translation by the looks of it. From what he said, I assume he's wondering why a seemingly old topic keeps bumping up the forum. I'm simply saying that it should still be relevant since the single only actually came out within the last 2 weeks, despite the original release date listed in the subject of this thread
  19. They probably will play COG Hahninator. Not sure how well it will go down with the 'festival crowd' though. I'd be keen as to hear it!
  20. Obviously it wouldn't have been a vinyl at 5", but why list it in vinyl format and go as far as mentioning A size if they were talking about a CD all along - that would have been the first time ever that I'd seen a CD size mentioned on a CD listing. It was very obviously an early database entry (since it was months ago that it hit the site), lending the possibility that the '5' was simply a typo/miscommunication. But we're talking about an entire format change than what was listed on the site. This is also ignoring the fact that they sent a changed format (than what was on the order) without any form of notification. You can make any excuse for them that you wish, that's bad business practice pure and simple. Oh and Somedude, it's their current single and the CD was just released, so why wouldn't it be a current topic?
  21. Nice find dude. We're gonna have to find someone to record that for us - since it'll be a bit hard with us on the road
  22. That's quite cool. Couldn't they have done 10 seconds for LITE too? Btw I was going to say. I'm happy to buy some of these Aussie tour editions in-store and post out to people if JBs shipping prices aren't reasonable (if they even ship internationally, which I think they do).
  23. Anyone hoping for Ethan Mates mixed versions of BID and LGM will be sorely disappointed with this release - those two tracks are essentially DSP tracks. No wonder the LITE remix separates both sets of live tracks - they sound vastly different in terms of mixing.
  24. Aussies can be right a**holes when push comes to shove. Luckily LP are on after, so hopefully, most of the Slayer fans would have vacated that stage. Not predicting too many surprises with the festival sets... think we're likely to see something like the following: 1. A Place For My Head 2. Given Up 3. Lying From You/Papercut 4. VICTIMIZED/QWERTY 5. New Divide 6. IN MY REMAINS 7. Points Of Authority 8. Waiting For The End 9. Numb 10. Breaking The Habit 11. The Catalyst 12. LOST IN THE ECHO 13. In The End 14. BURN IT DOWN 15. Faint 16. What I’ve Done 17. Bleed It Out 18. One Step Closer Though I wouldn't mind IN MY REMAINS being taken out and POWERLESS added in somewhere else in the set. At this stage, fully expecting the sideshows to be my favourite shows of the 7.
  25. I voted for: High Voltage (Remix) (Last played Sept 16, 2001) Easier To Run (Last played April 26, 2003) Figure.09 (Last played Sept 11, 2004) Valentine's Day (Last played June 27, 2008) The Little Things Give You Away (Last played Aug 23, 2008) Wretches & Kings (Last played Feb 28, 2011) But the song I am most dying to hear live is: Pushing Me Away (Last played Aug 21, 2008) It was one of my favourites on Hybrid Theory, and I've never been able to hear it live (in person).
