  1. Really? Shit, I need to brush up on my knowledge of pre-LP history before I talk out of my ass again. Which happens a lot. Can't say I was super crazy about SDaHF/GD though. Just not my type of music, I guess.
  2. Surely they recorded at least an album's worth of material with Mark. I can see why they wouldn't want to release anything that doesn't have Chester on it, though. They don't necessarily try to erase their history before Chester, but they do like to ignore it.
  3. Oops, my apologies. Was basing my statement on the region number on my copy, but thinking about it now that's just idiotic. So basically non-US markets. Scumbag LP. Oh, but there is, because the DSPs are audio-only, no video element. There needs to be at least one live DVD for each touring cycle IMO, or at the very least every two touring cycles.
  4. By early LP I mean Hybrid Theory and Meteora.
  5. The scientists in Antarctica have a five-piece house band that played for Live Earth, so yes, one band has played there. Just pointing that out.
  6. Hm. I always considered them to be the same. And yeah, Chester's voice has always been really good. He sung a lot better in Grey Daze compared to LP's early years.
  7. The thing I think about in regards to this question is: what would the other four members even do? Like, we haven't really seen the extent of Brad, Phoenix, and Rob's talents on their instruments in LP because the nature of LP's music limits all three of them. It reminds me of Slipknot - you don't need nine (well, eight now) fucking people in a band. It's like a big group of people you only include because you're friends with them. Will they be able to get gigs if they split? Would a band want Brad or Rob to join based on their music with LP?
  8. aren't SDahF? and Grey Daze basically the same band? I don't see this need to differentiate between early demo tapes and later studio albums.
  9. Yeah, ATS+ only received a...European release, right? And it wasn't billed as Live in Madrid, it was basically the album with a bonus live DVD. So no, not the same sort of thing as LiT or RtR.
  10. I like it for its novelty value. It makes for a good opening track for a playlist, too, or some sort of instrumental interlude or intro, like Tinfoil.
  11. There's also a huge stigma tied to LP's music at this point. They could write the greatest rock album ever heard in the next ten years and most critics will still dismiss it as teenage angsty bullshit. I think LP will end when Mike and Chester (probably Mike) finally realize that the LP label can't be grown out of. They say that there are no boundaries with LP's music, but there most definitely are, and I guarantee Mike and probably Chester will want to step out of those boundaries eventually. That, IMO, is when LP will end.
  12. "just like metallica" Will they put out a series of shit albums, too?
  13. Yeah, I don't think LP would make the mistake of reverting back to the "live tracks for everyone!" mentality that they had with LPU prior to 8.
  14. Then we can find it somewhere else. I never saw anything about HT instrumentals on here, though...when were they initially posted, or discussed?
  15. Maybe we should just add "anything from before 2000". I'm thinking most of Meteora is gone forever too. Hit the Floor, Easier to Run, Figure.09, Nobody's listening, you know, the ones that weren't singles. Same for MTM and ATS, too. Anything that wasn't a single will be cut forever.

Pretty sure this is all we know so far. I didn't hear anything about LP doing the entire soundtrack, or anything for the soundtrack.
  17. Machine Shop is a vanity label tied to Warner, so unless they negotiate a deal that splits Machine Shop off from Warner, then no, they can't do anything with Machine Shop once they're off-contract. I dunno if us diehards could keep LP floating if they tried the whole independent deal...you need to be a gigantic band with legendary status to pull that off. I don't think I need to cite the usual examples. Then again, Amanda Palmer isn't a huge name and she's doing...well enough independently. Her fanbase is scary loyal though, so...
  18. I...I made an offhand comment about how long the band has been around and you wrote an entire paragraph about it? Xero, Hybrid Theory, and Linkin Park are all the same band, end of story. There was never a stopping point in the band where they drew the line and said "This is Xero, and this is Linkin Park." The history is a shared history because they're the same band that had different singers at different points in time. I mentioned Mark's existence because it's a fact that Mark Wakefield was the first singer for Linkin Park, back when they were called Xero. I never said a thing about preferring him - honestly, I can see why every single label they sent the tape to said "fuck off", because those four songs sounded like shit. And it wasn't just Mark's vocals, either - all four songs have the exact same structure and sound exactly the same, with none of the variation that even the HTEP had. It wasn't just Mark that was pulling the band down - the entire group was shit back in '97. Reading My Eyes obviously sounds better with Chester because Chester is an entirely different singer and is on a level above Mark. He was prepared to be famous and had the voice to get there, Mark had neither. Unless of course someone from the band has gone on record saying "Xero is not Linkin park, Xero is the precursor to Linkin Park, they are different bands" - then I'll step back. But until then, I'm sticking to what I said before. Oops derailed the topic. LP will end when the sales dry up, that's pretty much the size of it.
  19. I don't see them stopping for a long-ass time. They're already at fifteen years (fourteen(?) with Chester), and album sales have yet to slow down to a detrimental level. As long as they're pumping out number 1 albums (if only for a week at a time) then they'll keep going. Plus, I've seen very few bands that have as few internal problems (if any) as Linkin Park. They're not like Metallica or blink-182, they're all cool with eachother as far as we can tell.
  20. This list is super incomplete but I voted for Drum Song anyway.
  21. You fucking people, wow, this thread is insane. I'm not a show collector, so I think the HOB DSP would be the only one I'd be interested in if it ends up being released. If not, then oh well. Not like I'm going to see LP on this tour anyway.
  22. Until it Breaks in fifth place? You people are ridiculous.
  23. I knew it. Knew I wasn't going crazy. Thanks, Astat.
  24. This is interesting. It'll be a good show for whoever goes.
  25. Fuck you, Empty Spaces is literally the most musical piece that Linkin Park has ever put out. The amount of emotion in those 14 seconds...it's unbelievable. The buildup of sound, all bringing you up to expect one thing when suddenly it's something totally different. Brilliant. Genius. Also this topic is dumb.
