  1. It comes from how the songs have been typeset in literally every instance. Of course they're in all caps on the back cover of the album, tons of bands do that. No, they're in all caps on the iTunes page, in the downloads of each song, every single official source listing a song from LT uses all caps. This wasn't done for any other album, hence the confusion.
  2. 30 seconds of UIB does not warrant it being in the title. That said, good LPTV as always. They're really doing well with these this year.
  3. Burn one, swap out the CD tray for a 2CD tray when you have the physical album, and bam. Making of DVD right in your hands.
  4. I do. Checkmate.
  5. song was too long? Combined the two tracks are 4:38, that's not very long. I guess it's like what Angels & Airwaves did with Star of Bethlehem - split it into an intro (with the original song title) and the rest of the song (True Love). Though, that song was eight minutes, so I suppose it was a little more warranted.
  6. That just makes it even funnier.
  7. Frat Party doesn't really cover much of HT itself though, only the ensuing tour and all the silly shit they did on it. I mean yeah, they talked about how Chester came into the band, but that was it. Reminds me, I really need to re-watch Frat Party sometime...what a great DVD.
  8. HT didn't have one because it was their debut album and who wants to watch a Making of for a band that was just bursting onto the scene?
  9. Damn I like that idea. The songs have similar themes, too.
  10. I'm sure you know this, but the only reason MTM took so goddamn long was because of Collision Course and Warner being a bag of dicks with LP's contract. Plus, we got Fort Minor out of that hiatus, so we can't really complain, can we? ;D
  11. Perhaps why Points was a radio single? At least, I'm pretty sure it was.
  12. I have never seen anything more glorious on this forum. LGraham is my favorite.
  13. I've been here three years and it's still difficult you filthy liar. But yeah welcome to the forums, album releases are always a great time to join. Sorta.
  14. Well I don't think I ever said that I thought making the same album twice was a GOOD idea (and if I did I didn't mean that and I'm also not saying you were implying that I did, Xero, if that made any sense), I was just pointing out that the band was probably stressed and irritated beyond belief and said "FUCK THEM WE DID THIS OURSELVES AND WE'LL FUCKING DO IT AGAIN" without thinking about the consequences of that action. And yeah, making an album that sounded different but successful would've been the way out - speaking of that, isn't that exactly what MTM was? It went Gold in one week, didn't it? If Meteora hadn't happened (and if MTM had happened instead, but with a bit more familiar sound), I think we'd be in a hugely different situation now.
  15. And that's one of the problems with hitting the ball out of the park on the first try - LP literally burst onto the scene, six kids that nobody had any idea about, and sold, what, 5 million copies in two years? Ridiculous for a band that hadn't existed four years prior. So people called bullshit. Just like Mike rapped about on "Get Me Gone": "Then the humor faded when some magazines printed that our label made us / we were to good to be true / some were sayin' ghostwriters were writin' all that we do / so we had to disprove it / spell it out to the detail how we're makin' this music" Like LGraham said, they were stuck. Either ignore the rumors and make an album that sounded different (thus implying that the label really did make Hybrid Theory, especially if Album Two flopped), or do exactly what they didn't want to: make the same album again, have the same level of success again, and get everyone to shut the fuck up. Of course, though, you can't get critics to shut the fuck up. They'll just find other shit to pick at.
  16. Damn I wish there was a like button for posts.
  17. I noticed that too. Everyone has something they like on the album. The only thing that would've made it better is if everyone would've liked every song on the album, but when there's so much variety to the tracks that's sort of impossible.
  18. Still ATS, sorry.
  19. That's precisely why I'm glad it was never a single. There's no way to shorten it without damaging the epic nature of the song. I voted Don't Stay and Pushing Me Away. Radio friendly drivel that would've worked just as well as the actual singles.
  20. The problem, I think, lies with the fact that Meteora exists. We all know what it is - the exact same style with a flute loop thrown in and some rapping taken out. When a band makes an album, I believe they have exactly one shot to not get pigeonholed into the genre of their first album - and that's to make their second album sufficiently different so that it doesn't happen. It doesn't have to be like what LP did with MTM - all they would've had to do was, perhaps, throw in more electronics, pull out the teenage angst, and bam. But no, we got Hybrid Theory Part II instead. And that's when the music critics - and the people that follow them - gave up. You make the same album twice, you'll be crawling out of that hole for the rest of your career. One thing I found interesting is Antiquiet's review of LIVING THINGS, where it actually wasn't a scathing condemnation, but rather an acknowledgement that the band was growing out of their nu-metal loop in a natural, unforced way. And it only took nine years.
  21. I think the beard should be the new lead singer of Linkin Park.
  22. A lawsuit? A lawsuit? Against the tech giant that could probably go toe-to-toe with Warner for years without breaking a sweat? Give me a fucking break. It was a screw-up, the employee that let it happen probably got fired, end of story. If Warner sued Apple, Apple would probably respond by immediately pulling every single Warner artist from the iTunes store. And wow, sahinz, I guess you don't get how things work around here, we don't tell people they're not fans because they didn't like ATS. Pull your head out of your ass.
  23. oh my godperfection This entire topic has become nothing but perfection.
  24. LITE, COG, and I think POWERLESS will be one too.
  25. For some reason I can't picture Brad singing his part with a full beard. Like, I don't know why, but I just picture him singing completely clean-shaven. Maybe because his voice is so nasally that I feel like it doesn't fit with the hobo look he had going for MTM and most of ATS. This has been a post.
