Based on what description we've been given now, we can say that the genre of this album is supposed to be "progressive electronic trip-rock, with rapping." Sounds as close to genre-busting as a band could hope to get quite frankly. Can't wait to hear something.

Thank God. Linkin Park, while my favorite band and I love them to fucking death, has exhausted their old sound. MTM was "different," but in many ways still the same. Very mainstream sounding, angsty, radio friendly, very formulaic. I cannot express how excited it makes me that they have branched off and done something truly different. There's no doubt in my mind that this next album will be their best work. In other news, the lead single has rapping! Should make people happy. I know I am =D

I wouldn't be so sure. Why would they put out a message about how there will be more messages? Kind of like announcing the date of an announcement. Doesn't make sense. Plus this took no decoding at all. They just threw it in there.

I think some of the pixels of each frame are letters or parts of letters, because there are definitely visible letters if you zoom in. Mike said a few months ago that they had "cool new ideas" to try out with this album that pushed the album back. We assumed that meant music, but apparently they were getting a viral campaign of some sort ready. You really think Mike is going to completely hype up the fan base with a "big announcement," not make the announcement, then put up a "message" that doesn't mean anything? I don't think he's that much of a prick.

For those who tried overlaying the 13 frames, did you zoom in to look for the hidden message? Because I'm pretty sure the pixels are the letters, they look like the same font used for the mikeshinoda.com banner. So if you overlayed and tweaked with the frames, make sure you zoom in and look around for writing.

I'm not talking about the album title. This gif animation is called "Message." For those saying "blarg there's nothing there stop being so weird" you could very well be right, but I don't think Mike would call the animation "message" if that isn't what it is. It has to have some type of meaning to it.

This is ridiculous x.x Have you gotten anything that looks remotely like anything? I definitely have noticed a "4" but thats it.

You doing this too? Maybe the outer frames (1-3, 11-13) should have the least opacity, and the middle the most?

I still got nothing. Mark said we need to turn frame 8 or 10 sideways? I tried turning both 90 degrees left and right, still nothing. Maybe more messing with the opacity?
