  1. ... o.O what is that site?
  2. I do understand what you're saying. But if someone did take a pic and it happened to stick in the image, what are the odds that the person's head/shoulders/hand/camera all fit so well into the circle? It seems very lucky. But again I don't think this is a "message."
  3. I don't think it's a message. What would a person holding a camera mean? "WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?? So intense!" /doublerainbow
  4. That's what I'm thinking. Maybe Mike was being funny? He got so into the whole water-marking thing that he kept going when he got bored.
  5. I think it will be. That or a random live track from the 09 tour, but I doubt it.
  6. LP could play a 22 song set, which they've done before, with all of their past singles + 6 ATS songs. They do not have to drop old singles to make room for anything. I wish they would replace LOATR, Numb, and SIB though. None of those songs really brings it live anymore (LOATR never did )
  7. They've both already been put out and if the Japanese edition comes out around the same time as the other countries there probably won't be a live version of The Catalyst.
  8. It has the exact same structure as every other LP song.
  9. APFMH! Your reign has lasted too long! Papercut should have been in your place.
  10. Since we're talking about studio tracks, I gotta vote APFMH out.
  11. I'm all for an A Thousand Suns EP on iTunes. Knowing LP's connection with Apple, it could happen.
  12. Judging by the album preview video on lp.com, the organ/keyboard part of The Catalyst seems to be the intro. If it is, it would make a badass opening.
  13. Speaking of Rick Rubin, if ATS is amazingly awesome, are the fans going to give him the credit for that? Since everyone seemed to want to give him all the "credit" for MTM (in a lot of cases the "blame" for it). Just wondering if all the people who bad-mouthed Rubin before and acutally said Don Gilmore was better (wtf) would be willing to praise him. For the record I don't think the producer has too much of an effect on the albums. It's LP's work.
  14. It's probably a conscious decision on the band's part. 12 tracks is a good number for an album, anywhere from 10-13 is. If an album is too long, it's just music overload. Keeping it down around 12 allows for a good amount of material, but at the same time allows each song to shine on its own.
  15. This, he has experience playing shows, has the keen ability to figure out how to play songs correctly down to the smallest detail by ear. He's a talented guy. Plus, just watch his videos and read his posts. The guy lives and breathes music. He would definitely have a great shot at winning. So would Alex. I haven't really heard enough of anyone else to have an opinion on them.
  16. When I said Astat better enter the contest, I was only using him as an example because he's probably the most well known and most talented musician in the LP community. That doesn't mean I don't think anyone else should try. I plan on trying myself, any musician should give it a go.
  17. Big thanks to LPBR to reporting this first. They're on their A game lately. Also, Mark still has to tell us how he got September 14 from the original .gif message. And Dear Astat, Get on this remix contest. Love, Me.
  18. Oh shit.
  19. I'll copy and paste what I said in the LPA version of this thread: I want basically how the new album has been described so far. More electronic elements. When Mike made that blog post that said Chicken Basket sounded a bit like The Postal Service, I was quite the happy camper. I want dark music. This doesn't mean screamy and angsty, but a nice level of creepyness is always appreciated by me. Something creative and non-mainstream too. LP is not a pop band but their music is extremely radio-friendly and pretty formulaic. Intro, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge around the 2 minute mark, chorus, end. They've had their success, now time to think outside the box. More technical music would be cool too. And also, LYRICS. Not generic lyrics. Luckily for me LP seems to be heading in the direction of most of this. I am so very excited.
  20. Brandon must have really hated the music they were making. He made a tweet a few days ago something along the lines of "I feel like something really good is going to happen soon "
  21. I wonder why it takes the LPU a year to put something like this out.
  22. For everyone looking for events to coincide with the dates August 2 and Sept 24, Mike pretty much confirmed on this blog that doing that is a waste of time. He sarcastically touched on it in his Responses to Comments post.
  23. I actually can't believe I watched that all the way through.
  24. 9 minutes long. Wow.
