He already retracted that in a blog post. He originally said it in jest but whoever was interviewing him printed it as serious. Edit: A couple other thoughts: - Definitely didn't think LP would be doing any more soundtracks any time soon. They gave a song to T1, gave a brand new song to T2, that's good enough. There's no reason for them to continue giving music out to these crappy movies. - It's funny how people kept actually thinking that Jornada Del Muerto would be in spanish, considering the band isn't actually fluent in spanish. - I think the reason Mike reacted the way he did to the Eminem question, was because it was so completely random. He hasn't even thought about working with Eminem and all of a sudden a bunch of people are like "Are you gonna work with Eminem???" I'd have the same reaction. "uhhh, no?" - Yay for more Chester screaming/Mike rapping/creative weirdness.

It's repetitive, but it's grown on me a lot. I think it'll probably be my least favorite song off the new album, just because the lead singles usually are for me. Also, whoever called this song progressive way back when, was pretty wrong. The song changes a bit at the bridge when it slows down for the "Lift me up" part, but it picks right back up. Overall something like a 7/10. Good song.

I wonder what The Full Experience is. Digital booklet?

Guys the iTunes store updates at midnight EST. Not PST. This isn't like the MoH trailer. If it wasn't out 3 hours ago, and it wasn't, then it probably won't be out until this afternoon. And woo! 1,000 posts. I <3 LPL.

I was hoping The Catalyst would be up in iTunes at midnight EST like most new releases, but apparently not.

There's are times when complaining is okay. Complaining that "LP isn't making teh nu-metalz!!"? Not okay. Complaining that your favorite band's marketing team just screwed with you by misleading you? I'd say a bit of venting is perfectly fine. But oh well, in about an hour none of this matters.

New Divide came out on a monday. They actually did change the rules for LP in that situation.

From LP's Facebook: "Our new song "The Catalyst" will be released on Monday, August 2nd, but you don't need to wait that long to hear it. Order any of our pre-order items at LinkinPark.com and we'll send you "The Catalyst" FREE before anyone else has a chance to hear it or buy it." I DID read the info on the pre-order site. The only assumption I made was that the Linkin Park Facebook wouldn't post something like the stuff I bolded and underlined if it wasn't true. How is getting The Catalyst mp3 at 3 pm on August 2nd "before anyone else has a chance to hear it or buy it"? Read the phrase "The Catalyst will be released on Monday, August 2nd, but you don't need to wait that long to hear it," and tell me that doesn't mean sending before August 2nd. It may not be false advertising, but it was incredibly deceiving.

It goes on iTunes tomorrow.

This is kind of fucked up. Honestly the band would almost be better off leaking The Catalyst themselves at this point. All of the audio stems, remixes, 30 second previews, the chopped up 4 minute version of the song, and now this clusterfuck have completely ruined the experience of getting a new single from LP.

When I click on the link it just takes me to my Facebook page. So what time would this mean the song is being sent for people in the U.S. EST?

If anyone's read my posts, they know I'm all for LP's sound change and I think I'm going to love ATS. That said, what's so "mature" about this music? People are just throwing that word around now. And obviously this is a very chopped up version of the song. I wonder when us pre-order people will get our mp3s.

If linkinpark.com wants to stay true to their word and give the pre-order fans The Catalyst first, it would have to be today because the MoH trailer comes out tomorrow. Unless that trailer doesn't contain the full song.

The intro with the text-to-speech is cheesy, but other than that this is really great. He synced the vocals in an off way, but made it work by using the long "noooo" at the end of the line. Creative.

From The Inside

This. It's like when everyone was convinced that Valentine's Day would be an instrumental.

Shoulda come with glow sticks so we could rave to "techno" LP.

You know there may even be more than 3 short instrumentals. Mike said a while back that this album would probably be shorter. We got excited when we saw 15 tracks but if there are only around 10 full length songs, and they were all at least around 4 minutes in length, I'd be happy.

I think calling it "flipping out" is being a bit dramatic. We're just trying to figure out how 6 songs are all at least 4 minutes and make up 27 minutes of the album, with 9 other songs having to fill up the other 18ish minutes. As for that, there would have to be 3 instrumentals/short interlude songs that were a minute or less.
