  1. Have you heard Sharp Edges from Birmingham, Chester's final show? Wow, it's amazing to me. He sang it differently than all other live performances of Sharp Edges and it sounded really good, IMO. I wish they had picked that one... they could have either fixed up the one they released or chose a better performance of the song. You should check out the Birmingham performance, though, because I really enjoy it. You can skip to the song in this video, the person has it all customized and what not. I enjoy this rip of the song more than other YouTube videos of it from this show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LurMLRvd6dI
  2. I hope someone can find it and share. I've been watching various DBS-TV episodes today on YouTube and you can see the board many times throughout them, just not as clear as that one photo from Julien-K posted over ten years ago now. But yeah, I agree, I bet they all sounded epic as hell. I've been commenting on DBS's Facebook lately and they always like my comments and reply about releasing older music, etc. They said they wanted to give it some time and then they will decide what to do with the music, etc. I'm very happy that Ryan and Amir aren't going to simply just let DBS die. I know we won't get new music from them obviously, but there is a lot of unreleased stuff and I'm happy they are still active on the DBS Facebook, etc. As someone who has been a huge DBS fan since god damn 2005 when I first heard Let Down from REact Now, I hope we can hear some unreleased stuff in the future. There is also ''Split Personality'' and ''Evil Twin'', both not listed on that Julien-K board, but listed on various other boards from 2008 and 2009 when they were recording with Howard Benson, so we know those are out there and most likely are 100% full fledged ''b-sides''. 20 Eyes is also a ''b-side'' for the album. Remember when you called in to Loveline back in 2009 Mark? Chester legit thought they had released 20 Eyes as a bonus track alongside Morning After, and Amir was like ''uhh, we haven't actually released that song, Chester''. Chester also spoke about it in various other interviews from 2009, saying we were getting 20 Eyes as a bonus track, etc. Wonder what happened... obviously the band wanted it out and recorded it, prepared it for release, etc. The ones on that original Julien-K board that you mentioned, I bet those are rough demos. ''Wall Of Sound'', ''Instrumental'', ''Hold Life'' and ''Introutro''. I would of course love to hear all of those as well. I'd love to hear the original 2005 demos of the songs like Let Down, Walking In Circles, My Suffering (remember the epic version played at Club Tattoo 2008, I bet that's the original version). What's even more interesting is the fact that Chester has said in a few interviews in 2009 that both Condemned and Inside Of Me were literally written during the Howard Benson sessions in 2008/2009 because Howard wanted a couple of ''big rock songs''. He spoke about it in this interview with KROQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr5Kk_XL3S4and a few other interviews that I've read recently. So those both weren't around. He said that he also completely re-wrote Fire because he felt the original version of Fire was way too emotional and religious for him, which is interesting, I'd love to hear the original version of Fire. Lastly, we have some unknown lyrics that have popped up in various DBS making of videos, as well. I asked Ryan about one once, and he said they were demo lyrics for End Of The World. We also have partial lyrics for the original versions of Fire and Too Late, both 100% different than the version we got on OOA, just like My Suffering. Man, I'd love to hear all of this stuff. Sadly, I don't have too much faith in that, but you never know.
  3. I really like this song a lot. Too hard to make out all the lyrics, IMO. The chorus has a really nice melody.
  4. Does anyone have the photo of Julien-K's demo board with all the DBS demo song titles?

    Time Capsule

Ryan should be slapped across the face if they aren't including Walking In Circles (Acoustic) from 2011 (the same set as Palm Springs Reset) on the released. Walking In Circles (Acoustic) is probably the best song of all time.
  6. HT, Meteora and MTM all completely blow OML out of the water. They also blow ATS, LT and THP out of the water, too. I'm an old school fan. MTM had some change but it wasn't nearly as drastic as ATS was, even Mike Shinoda himself has said that. MTM still had a lot of rocker songs like GU, LOATR, BIO, SOTD, WID, NMS, In Pieces, and I genuinely loved the rest of the experimentation on MTM, there isn't a single song or demo that I have heard from MTM that I didn't absolutely love. But I wasn't a fan of ATS at all originally when it came out, I just read a post that I made around the time that it came out and I was saying I was done being a fan, etc. LT, it had some decent music, I tried to get into it, I used to say it was my favorite album, but that's a lie. In reality, I think it's just washed down versions of ATS material. It was so commercially friendly, it basically took the sound of ATS and made it commercially friendly. THP was lackluster to me. I hated GATS when I first heard it, I just saw a post I made in 2014 when it dropped and I said I hated it. I didn't like how THP had guests on a main album and it wasn't nearly as heavy as I expected, even MTM had heavier songs with GU and NMS. OML... I just never liked. I hated Heavy upon first listen and still hate it. Don't like the guest features once again on a main album, and I think it's commercially appealing as all fuck and I think it's kind of cheesy at times. It's very ''2017'' sounding, and I don't really like music of this decade. My main point here was why did the band make this kind of album after bashing it so much throughout 2014 when THP dropped? This was literally the EXACT music Mike was talking about not wanting to make. So I was questioning why it happened. That's all. I am allowed to hate OML, people act like it's the end of the world if you say you hate the album. Almost like a ''how dare you'' kind of way. And it's stupid as fuck. I am allowed to dislike music that was released to the mainstream by a mainstream artist, it's fine. Does that mean I can't hate Nirvana, because Kurt committed suicide? Do I have to love everything Chris Cornell ever did with every release he was ever on just because he committed suicide? I mean really, get real people. I have been a hardcore fan of Linkin Park since 2003 and have met the band many times, have seen them live many times, have spent a lot of money on merch and everything else, etc. I am a fan, trust me. I just am an old school fan, I don't really like stuff from after MTM, and that's ok. Remember when Mike said that all fans of the band, from every era, are welcome?
  7. Who the fuck are you bro? I guarantee I'm more of a fan than you are. LP fans have become so fucking annoying in this decade. I miss the 2000's LP fans. The 2010's LP fans are so fucking annoying. I can question WHATEVER I want and I can say whatever I want as long as it isn't hate speech. Because I made a thread about OML? Who cares? I almost don't even want to be a Linkin Park fan anymore if this is what kind of people will be around. I should have jump shipped when 2008 ended and MTM was done, it was the last good thing the band did anyways.

    Time Capsule

Nah, Ryan and Amir have talked about that being included for many months now. I think it was one of the first things confirmed to be on Time Capsule. I wonder if it's the entire set though, or just Palm Springs Reset and I'll Try Not To Destroy You with Chester. They uploaded a YouTube video of Palm Springs Reset from the show years ago and it's still up as far as I can tell (in lower quality than what will appear on the CD). If it was the entire set, that would be epic as all hell, as it contains DBS, JK and a LP song, but I highly doubt they will put that on the CD. http://lplive.net/shows/db/deadbysunrise/20111112 I think we will get Time Capsule by the end of 2017, hopefully. Maybe they will start shipping them in December in time for the Holidays or something. I think they have the 4 discs ready to go, but they added the Transformers 2 soundtrack now as a bonus for most people. They're probably finalizing it up now to ship. At least, I hope.
  9. No, this is an entirely different version. It probably sounds around the same in terms of structure but this version is significantly higher quality and overall just sounds better, judging by the clip.
  10. Song Q was explained during the Making Of MTM (Webster Hall Theater Version). Mike said that each band member sang the chorus on their own, and they ended up combining all 6 of the band members choruses together for what appeared on the album. He also teased about showing us a few of the band members choruses, showing only a clip of one, before shutting it off. It's also possible that they tried other chorus ideas throughout the formation of the song, since some songs undergo like 30 different versions (LOATR, SIB, BIO etc) But yeah, that Figure.09 demo would be epic. We got a Figure.09 demo on LPU9 with different choruses and bridge and it was epic as fuck, I still listen to it a lot. Chester singing the verses, it was probably badass.
  11. I'm not mad that the band didn't give us music, I understand why. I was just bummed that we didn't get any and won't join this year.
  12. I don’t think it’s anyones favorite album. Lol.
  13. My post wasn’t entirely true actually. I’d love to hear songs from the old days from like 1997-2008 but with vocals and stuff. Something old school like a demo from those eras would be cool. But for recent album cycles, I would just prefer demos of songs that made the albums. Like I’d love to have all 150 MTM demos but I know that won’t happen. Haha. Or stuff like Thoughts That Take Away My Pride and Pictureboard, but I know we won’t get those. I just think a lot of the demos we have received from 2009-now are kind of shitty. But I do like all the old school ones from the first three albums, even the instrumentals.
  14. Usually right about now is when I would make the LPU18 wishlist. Haha. But seeing as we got no music for LPU17... I think I might be more bummed about not being able to make that thread.
  15. I definitely prefer live recordings over boring songs that never made the cut for their respective albums. I like to hear demos of songs from the albums because I like to hear how a song evolved into what we got on the albums. It's very interesting to me and sometimes they are really good, like Primo. But like I said, we rarely get demos of songs that made the albums. I never listen to any of the other tracks on the releases, so yeah, I guess it's not a big deal that we didn't get music this year.
  16. I don't think they will. And even though I'm really bummed out about it, I don't even care. 90% of the tracks we get through LPU are pure garbage anyways, at least to me. I'm only interested in hearing songs that actually made the albums, and we rarely get demos of songs that did. A lot of interesting stuff is out there that I'd like to hear, such as the original Powerless version, or the version of The Messenger with the English country pub shown through LPUTV, etc. But there's a lot more than just those that I would want to hear, so many different versions and demos of songs that made the albums that I would love to hear. But like I said, we usually just get tracks that never went anywhere and stuff like that. I understand where Hahninator is coming from, saying it's hard for the band to release demos at this time, but I did genuinely still think we would get music. Oh well.
  17. Wow. For the first time since LPU 3, I won't be joining the LPU. Don't like the merch designs at all, either. And I already own that bridge poster and got a OML pin through the OML deluxe edition earlier this year. The rest doesn't interest me. But really bummed about no music. That was the only reason I would have joined.
  18. So, no music afterall. You guys were right! I stand corrected. Wow. I probably won't join for the first time since LPU 3.
  19. Yeah, that's a good example. You know? Like I'm 99.9% positive that all of the 12 songs on Hybrid Theory are better than Pictureboard. I just sometimes wonder if Mike regrets giving us so much demos and unreleased music each year. I think he felt really badly with the fan reception of mmm...cookies in 2008 and that's why we have been getting full demo CD's each year since. I know you'll remember how it was back in 2008, everyone was pissed about the CD at the time. I don't think the band was ever fully comfortable with giving us unreleased music, that's why we didn't get much of it with the first 8 LPU CD's. I feel like we kind of pressured them into giving us unreleased songs and demos each year. I listen to a lot of artists and Linkin Park is really the only one who gives us unreleased songs or b-sides or demos, etc. Sometimes I feel like I'm done with listening to demos or unfinished songs, etc. I feel like I've heard it all a thousand times with how much music we have got over the year with LPU. It goes to show how much work actually goes into making an album, for LP. Think about all the weird little instrumentals and stuff we have got, are the stuff with incomplete vocals. Can you imagine turning those into full fledge songs for an album? I can't. And all the songs probably start that way obviously, all the songs we know from the albums. Imagine how much work it must have been to make them all like they appear on the albums? It's crazy. So I think LP is crazy talented.
  20. I think it probably will be 10 demos, the standard. I think we will get like half instrumentals and half with vocals, possibly. I think the fanbase is largely overthinking this whole thing, including myself. I think it will be a standard LPU release, with maybe a few ''special'' demos with Chester. I think we will 100% get music though, I'm positive of it. EDIT: Another thing I wanted to discuss. I wonder if the band ever regrets doing the LPU CD's for all these years. They could have still had a fanclub starting with LPU 1 and just never gave us music with the package. It's crazy to think about how much music we have got from LPU 1 to LPU 16. I bet they don't really like releasing demos. Think about it... they work hard on making an album for years at a time, and they pick what songs they think are the best, to make an album, a piece of art. And then you have the fans (like myself) that are all like ''give us xxx demo!''. I would hate it if I were in a band. Lol.
  21. Can't Hurt Me (2014 Demo), released on LPU 16. My question is... do you guys think it is a demo from THP? It doesn't really sound like THP, and a lot of the music written for THP was written in 2013 and very early 2014. I assume they had picked the tracks for THP by like March of 2014 at the latest, maybe even February or January. I can't imagine they were still working on rough demos that late in the writing process. So that leads me to think that it's actually a very early demo for what would become OML. They probably worked on rough ideas in the later half of 2014. It had always bugged me because it's weird to see a 2014 date on a demo, in fact, it's the only one we have with a 2014 tag besides Asteroids which is probably also an early demo for OML.
  22. He supposedly can be heard singing on a lot of the older demos from the Death To Analog era. He is also featured on a few live tracks. Maybe more, who knows.
  23. I've wanted this for MANY years... Would be epic to hear it. 2004 Chester was prime too.
  24. It's called the first three LP albums. That's all I need in life.
  25. Well yeah man it's been a little bit now. They literally talked about how hard it was for them to play a show and that they felt somewhat better doing it. I think Mike is going to give us some demos for the CD. The LPU CD's aren't really ever anything special anyways. It's not like it's all fully completed b-sides. We never get those. They're just demos and rough song ideas. They can give us anything. You don't think Mike has been listening to the band's music in recent months? I do. They played a show, are giving us a live album, etc. And LPU 17 is confirmed. It obviously will come with music, they do every single year since it's inception. If I'm wrong, I'll stand corrected. It should be coming fairly soon. Mike is a strong dude, he's been strong throughout it all. He wants to give the fans as much as he can, he probably WANTS to give us demos. Mike has always been cool like that and has said so many times that he loves giving back to the fans. If music doesn't come with it, I won't buy the package. I'm not gonna trash the band or harrass the band about it. I just wouldn't buy it personally. And in my own opinion, I do think we'll get music with it, probably 10 random demos like always. I don't think it will be this huge epic thing with huge Chester songs, but I think we'll get just a standard release for sure.
