I used to really be disappointed with MTM, but after hearing ATS, I've grown to accept MTM more. Just wish songs like IB,Wake, LOATR,TLTGYA never made the album cut.
I used to think yes however it's been almost 6 years now since TRT came out. Mike seems content being a backup singer and keyboardist(Get Me Gone). I'm not sure who is to blame. Most likely Warner since FM can't compare to LP's sales figures so Mike decided to abandon it.
Their lyrics were better when they forced themselves to not use explicit to get across a message. I don't see ATS or MTM as a more mature album at all. I didn't know pop music was mature at all.
Yeah I don't mean to sound that entitled but LP makes their fans wait a long time for such few actual songs. Thankfully the lpu cd's have improved over the past 2 years though.
I've seen them 7 times now and after my last show I'm no longer that interested in seeing them. The two ATS songs I like Blackout and Burning in the Skies were not played- they only played singles besides the ATS stuff. Hard to appease everyone but I just hope they can release lots of music( even old stuff like lpu9,10).
I don't care if they never rap and scream over a track again. I just want some damn energy back in their songs.
If they want to make all these ballards then fine, but please make a double album and put some tracks with a backbone on there.
The new metal sound was no longer popular after Meteora hence the change. What music are they making now, soft rock? I wonder why. Because it's now popular.
Read the interview- still think the sold out to a certain extent. I understand changing; I do not understand completely abandoning your roots and original fanbase.
ATS did kinda "suck" for LP's standards. The sale records are misleading because LP fans of the past still buy their stuff yet regret that purchase later on. Look at all the credible reviews out there. Wake the f*k up people.
