Astat
I think we need to ask mike just to confirm on this one. Mainly because ive seen the symbol on a the back of a Resturant. I knew i had saw the the symbol somewhere, and it was bugging me for a week or two, and then i went to the city a month or two later, and saw it on the wall of some Sushi or japanese food take away type place. I took a picture . so, it may just be a random japanese symbol. Id be really happy it were the Shinoda crest, since I think i may be the first or one of the first to figure that out That's exactly what it is. There was a lengthy discussion on this back on the old Fort Minor messageboards, it all started when someone noticed that the symbol was also part of the Reanimation cover art and not just something found on FM-related material. elit3sk0t
' “QWERTY” was the first Linkin Park song (and only to date) to premiere live without being recorded beforehand. It was first played in 2006 in Japan and then recorded for inclusion on the LPU 6 CD. ' LIES The Morning After 2001 was, it was not recorded prior to the playing and it was considered a Linkin Park song until it was remixed by Julien-K for Underworld: Evolution. If this happens to be true then Let Down 2004 would also then be second I guess? However QWERTY was not rehearsed or recorded by the band before it's premiere I think that's what it states in the LPTV episode. I don't know if thats all of them :x but those are the ones I can think of from the top of my head. I'm also a dumbass so I could be wrong. I think (well to my knowledge) it was always a Chester song. Just idiots oftern miss named it as a LP song. I dont think It was performed apart of any LP sets so I dont know where people got the link if it was only Chester doing it solo. Finally I found it again after remembering it. Frgt/10 samples Basil Poledouris's Porsche Power/Drive My Car? song. http://muzofon.com/search/Basil%20Poledouris%20Porsche Nice find! Crappy song. Basil Poledouris? World-renowned composer who did the scores for movies like Conan the Barbarian, RoboCop, and Free Willy. Nice find! I think that could be sampled unless that song was made after the Reanimation album. Nope, did a bit of digging - it's a track from the film score for No Man's Land, which came out in 1987. Largely forgotten film starring Charlie Sheen and Randy Quaid, judging from the descriptions of it, it sounds like a "classier" version of Gone in 60 Seconds (or any other action film about stealing cars, really). I thought they played The Morning After in Germany in 2001 on one of their sets, I know it was Chester's song but look at the Messenger, it's considered a Linkin Park song. Astat
Sorry for the double post, but found a new one: The vocal sample from the beginning of Joe's DJ solo on the Projekt Revolution 2002 tour ("We don't wanna be left behind/all we want to do is just blow your mind") comes from the song "Back Up Off Me!" by Dr. Dre and Ed Lover (feat. T-Money) - (at the 2:24 mark) Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/4685-did-you-know-facts/page/6/#findComment-153613 Share on other sites

lgr
in case someone hasn't already updated this one - 1. the chorus for "Crawling" was based on the melody in the outro to the song "Blue", written in 1998. and 2. "The Requiem" was built out of samples and sounds from the rest of songs on the album (source: breakfast w/Kevin and Bean interview) Edited March 31, 2012 by LGraham Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/4685-did-you-know-facts/page/6/#findComment-157901 Share on other sites

lgr
"Powerless" was originally a demo from an older album cycle, but they couldn't get it the way wanted, but with LIVING THINGS they finished it. there are alot of Demos that are similar. i think some more concrete 'cool-fact-ness' would be required Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/4685-did-you-know-facts/page/6/#findComment-166618 Share on other sites
RogueSoul
Warner rejected Linkin Park three times before finally signing them. Linkin Park gots its name from an area Chester used to drive by after rehearsals, called Lincoln Park in Santa Monica, CA. It grabbed his attention and when he told the band members about it they all liked how it sounded. They changed it from "Lincoln" to "Linkin" to save money. Before Linkin Park, Chester was in a band called Gray Daze Edited June 18, 2012 by azAZ Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/4685-did-you-know-facts/page/6/#findComment-166620 Share on other sites
