RayGun4200 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 This is pretty dope, now we need Papercuts: Acapellas Quote
martinez Posted June 28, 2024 Author Posted June 28, 2024 Lost still have that scratching sample in the verses which is cool. https://i.ibb.co/Bj74C3w/806789990999.jpg - what? 192kHz? Quote
Justin Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 Initial thoughts: First time we’ve received official releases for a bunch of these tracks, so the audio quality is great. The weird pop in the beginning of verse 1 of COG is gone. First time we’ve gotten OSC at all since the HT leak didn’t include OSC and instead included a version made from the stems included in the Rock Band video game. Quote

RentEznor Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 Shit, now that we've finally gotten the proper OSC instrumental and not the weird RB mix, can't avoid hearing Jay-Z rapping "99 Problems" lol Quote

Scratch Sample itself was used first in “Dedicated” (2nd half of chorus). But it’s of course scratched differently on Lost. Edited June 29, 2024 by IWillWalkAway Quote
Soeffingnaive92 Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 I fucking love BTH instrumental, and I love hearing Resolution in Lost instrumental. Quote

NJPLP Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Just wondering, but do we know what the actual BPM of "QWERTY" is? Supposably, from what I'm seeing, it's 103 BPM, but when I try to use other Linkin Park acapellas of songs with the same BPM ("By Myself" and "Pushing Me Away"), the instrumental seems to be faster compared to either acapella, making it not match up like it should. Quote
leftshoe18 Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 I don't think QWERTY's BPM is actually a whole number. Quote
Elaine Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 (edited) 1 hour ago, Rokaito said: So what would that mean exactly? 😅 Generally that it'd be off by 0.XX in some direction, which is possible sometimes. usually 0.5. Edited July 1, 2024 by Elaine Quote
BeardyWilderness Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 When working with .5 BPM’s, it’s easier sometimes to double the BPM to get a whole number when remixing on software. So if it’s 100.5, change the BPM on whatever you’re using to 201. Quote
LPsMart Posted July 3, 2024 Posted July 3, 2024 (edited) fun fact: don't remember which song but one of the HT demos has a bpm of xxx.818 which I think is a dope little reference (I think maybe Stick'N'Move, not sure) Edited July 3, 2024 by LPsMart Quote

NJPLP Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 The reason why I asked the question I did about "QWERTY"'s BPM is because I'm looking to create some mashups between "QWERTY" and other Linkin Park songs in the same key/BPM. I was wondering what the accurate BPM of the song was. Quote

martinez Posted July 23, 2024 Author Posted July 23, 2024 I compared the instrumentals if they have any differences with album or single versions of the same songs and also compared them with previous officially released instrumental version. 01.Crawling (Instrumental) (03:29) It matches with the album version. 02.Faint (Instrumental) (02:42) Didn't noticed that earlier, but the intro in the single version of Faint is basically the album version but with fade in, which is a bit cut, weird edit. The instrumental version is not the single version, the intro in it fades in differently. Faint-Single Faint-Instrumental 03.Numb/Encore (Instrumental) (03:25) After comparing it with the instrumental from the Numb/Encore CD single it has Completely new, better mastering. The version from the CD was too loud and had a lot of clippings. This version with new mastering seems to be fixing both of those. I can easily recommend the Papercuts: Instrumentals version. https://i.ibb.co/wRKpWkT/numb-enc.jpg 04.Papercut (Instrumental) (03:04) Not a single or album version. The guitar in the intro comes a bit late in this instrumental version. The instrumental doesn't have the transition to One Step Closer at all. 05.Breaking The Habit (Instrumental) (03:15) Single version, without almost 2 seconds of silence at the end. 06.In The End (Instrumental) (03:36) Besides the quality, no differences between the album version. 07.Bleed It Out (Instrumental) (02:44) Album version. 08.Somewhere I Belong (Instrumental) (03:34) Single version, which means no transition from Don't Stay. 09.Waiting For The End (Instrumental) (03:51) - The effects on the guitar that's in the intro matches with the 2012 version. - No transition to Blackout but almost one second of the outro at the end was cut and instead of it. it has almost one second of silence comparing to how the version with vocals, released on Papercuts on May 6 have it. 10.Castle Of Glass (Instrumental) (03:25) after comparing it with the released in 2012 instrumental version: - the volume of it was a bit decreased, - out of 4 glitches only the first one was fixed. Quote Living Things (Acapellas and Instrumentals) contains several glitches. The most affected track is the instrumental version of "Castle Of Glass" with glitches at 0:36, 1:10, 1:28, and 2:36. 11.One More Light (Instrumental) (04:15) Album version. 12.Burn It Down (Instrumental) (03:50) After comparing it with the released in 2012 instrumental version: - just a little differences in mastering 13.What I’ve Done (Instrumental) (03:28) - single version. Very noticeable difference in mastering/EQ. 14.QWERTY (Instrumental) (03:21) Compared it with the instrumental version released on the single: If there are any differences, they are unnoticeable. 15.One Step Closer (Instrumental) (02:35) The intro doesn't have the transition that starts at the end of Papercut and goes through the intro of OSC. 16.New Divide (Instrumental) (04:29) after comparing it with the released in 2009 instrumental version: - it has different mastering - -2 seconds of silence less at the end 17.Leave Out All the Rest (Instrumental) (03:19) - single version 18.Lost (Instrumental) (03:21) First thought are good memories because this instrumental version has the same length like the very first version of the song with vocals that was registered in 2022 which was later in Januray 2023 replaced with the '3:19' version. It contains almost half of a second of silence at the beginning and one and half of a second of silence at the end. 19.Numb (Instrumental) (03:06) Comparing it with the album version: - the instrumental version is missing over 1 second of intro and it contains a slightly different effects. Numb-instr Numb-album 20.Friendly Fire (Instrumental) (02:56) Compared it with the instrumental version released on the single: If there are any differences, they are unnoticeable. ---------------------------------------------- Also, here's the quality check of the source (the highest quality delivered by the label), because some of those instrumentals for some reason were exported to even 192 sample rate, but in general what is the real quality of them? I downloaded the source from one of the digital stores and checked it, here are the results: 01.Crawling (Instrumental) (03:29) Source: 24-bit/96.0kHz - Upsampled, correct quality: 24-bit/48.0kHz 02.Faint (Instrumental) (02:42) Source: 24-bit/192.0kHz - Upsampled, correct quality: 24-bit/96.0kHz 03.Numb/Encore (Instrumental) (03:25) Source: 24-bit/44.1kHz 04.Papercut (Instrumental) (03:04) Source: 24-bit/96.0kHz - Upsampled, correct quality: 24-bit/48.0kHz 05.Breaking The Habit (Instrumental) (03:15) Source: 24-bit/192.0kHz - Upsampled, correct quality: 24-bit/96.0kHz 06.In The End (Instrumental) (03:36) Source: 24-bit/96.0kHz - Upsampled, correct quality: 24-bit/48.0kHz 07.Bleed It Out (Instrumental) (02:44) Source: 24-bit/96.0kHz 08.Somewhere I Belong (Instrumental) (03:34) Source: 24-bit/192.0kHz - Upsampled, correct quality: 24-bit/96.0kHz 09.Waiting For The End (Instrumental) (03:51) Source: 24-bit/44.1kHz 10.Castle Of Glass (Instrumental) (03:25) Source: 24-bit/44.1kHz 11.One More Light (Instrumental) (04:15) Source: 24-bit/44.1kHz 12.Burn It Down (Instrumental) (03:50) Source: 24-bit/44.1kHz 13.What I’ve Done (Instrumental) (03:28) Source: 24-bit/44.1kHz 14.QWERTY (Instrumental) (03:21) Source: 24-bit/44.1kHz 15.One Step Closer (Instrumental) (02:35) Source: 24-bit/96.0kHz - Upsampled, correct quality: 24-bit/48.0kHz 16.New Divide (Instrumental) (04:29) Source: 24-bit/44.1kHz 17.Leave Out All the Rest (Instrumental) (03:19) Source: 24-bit/96.0kHz - Upsampled, correct quality: 24-bit/48.0kHz 18.Lost (Instrumental) (03:21) Source: 24-bit/96.0kHz 19.Numb (Instrumental) (03:06) Source: 24-bit/192.0kHz - Upsampled, correct quality: 24-bit/96.0kHz 20.Friendly Fire (Instrumental) (02:56) Source: 24-bit/48.0kHz So now with that info you can save some MB on your disc by converting your source upsampled audio files to the correct quality. solidss Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 I also noticed that the SFX used for the transition after Papercut into One Step Closer is completely missing from both tracks now on the instrumental. Quote

The one I can see that is the closest to that number is "Dialate", which has 105.678 bpm. You might be thinking about the 1998 Xero demo of "Rhinestone", which has a bpm of 108.108.
