hahninator Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 According to festivalisten, Linkin Park could be announced as headliners of Hurricane and Southside 2017 tomorrow. The festivals take place between June 23rd and June 25th, 2017. Hurricane is in Scheeßel, Germany and Southside is in Tuttlingen, Germany. This would be the band's first appearance at these festivals. In the festival teaser video from Hurricane, two guys are walking in the park...roughly translated as: "Dude, it looks really great out here" followed by the other guy saying "The special thing about this park is that it links the two districts." (hinting at a Linkin Park joke) A similar tease was just done for Green Day by the festivals. This should be the first confirmation of the band's upcoming world tour in 2017. These promoters also book bands for NorthSide in Aarhus, Denmark and Bravalla in Norrkoping, Sweden, so those festivals are a possibility as well. Stay tuned for more news tomorrow! EDIT: Confirmed by Southside and the band! Linkin Park will be headlining Hurricane and Southside 2017! Quote
Igussek Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 I hope this is true. Let's begin announcements time! Quote
michalangelo Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 So it began...looking forward to the next years announcements Quote
mark403 Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 NovaRock also announces the next batch of bands tomorrow for their line up. There could be LP as their 3rd headliner (beside Green Day and SOAD). At least I'm hoping for that Quote
RhinestonePT Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Those festivals are both taking place 23rd - 25th June? We also got Download Festival Spain in Madrid on the 23rd and 24th (SOAD as headliner on a day). Really hope for a show in Spain (it's been 6 years) or Portugal Quote

Fingers crossed. Edited October 26, 2016 by Capacity Quote
Chazzy Chazz Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 The major Portuguese festivals are in July so... Can happen. Assuming this will be an European festival tour. Quote
Geki Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Very excited. Always my favorite part of any album cycle, the touring. I love when the first tour dates are announced, etc. Quote
RickLPL Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 fingers crossed for a show in the Netherlands Quote
Coizu Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Apparently it is confirmed. Southside posted a video of the new bands but I cant watch it right now. Quote
RickLPL Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 I bet they'll have at least 10 shows in Germany this tour hahaha Quote
marzo23 Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 I bet they'll have at least 10 shows in Germany this tour hahaha I don't think so! No ticket alert for any solo shows til now at eventim.de.... It could only be a festival summer tour...~10 shows and then a fall or winter european tour with more LP shows in Germany. Quote

Well, If they go on tour in fall or winter, they could easily offer like 12 Shows or so. The last tour with 9 shows was completely sold out. Quote
LPsMart Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 does that mean no Rock im Park or Rock am Ring w/ LP this year? :'( I was expecting that with them touring in Europe in June.. Quote
Geki Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Been confirmed on LP's social media now. Pretty awesome. Still in the studio, though, they say. Quote
marzo23 Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Now we need to talk about the festivals which are between NovaRock and HU/SS....there are f. e. Graspop in Belgium, Hellfest in France, Sonar Festival in Barcelona Quote

Graspop in Belgium, Hellfest in France, Sonar Festival in Barcelona LP might do some shows on their own, too. In Europe, Linkin Park is so big that they can sell out venues on their own, several times per tour. I think they might do that with a few shows, because I think this will become a European promo tour like they have done the past couple cycles. Hellfest will probably have LP as well. Quote

Yeah i know that of course Hopefully they will play again at Waldbühne here in Berlin *____* That is the best open air venue where I saw them Quote

marzo23 Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 I am coming if they play that venue ever again Such a cool place. Yeah I can say that this was the best concert ever of LP where I attened and I saw them 15times^^ Although the show started with WID piano intro which was the weakest intro all time Quote

marzo23 Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 I only found some examples for festivals in this week but yeah you should be right I think Quote
hahninator Posted December 21, 2016 Author Posted December 21, 2016 Hurricane 23 Green Day 24 Blink 182 25 Southside 23 24 Green Day 25 Blink 182 I don't know what the exact structure is for the lineup at these festivals. Will LP headline over Blink 182? Or will they headline their own day? LP could play Southside on 23rd, Hurricane on 25th, but it seems most likely they headline on the 24th at Hurricane and at Southside on the 25th, with Blink 182 as direct support. Quote
marzo23 Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 I think that Casper will be the third headliner aside LP and Green Day. Blink 182 is only in the second line of the flyer Quote
