RogueSoul
After a short break from their Brazilian run on Circuito Banco do Brasil, the band is back onstage! The band will be performing a very special set for Guitar Center's 50th Anniversary, as part of the Guitar Center Sessions. The show will be taking place at The Wiltern, a venue the band hasn't performed at since 2003, where they played back-to-back nights for the release part of Meteora! At the two shows back in 2003, the band performed identical setlists with the then-new songs like 'Easier To Run' and 'From The Inside', as well as some of the Hybrid Theory jams including 'A Place For My Head' and 'Papercut'. This'll be the first time that Linkin Park has performed at a Guitar Center event, however. Earlier this year, however, the band was inducted into Guitar Center's Rock Walk, a very esteemed honor! Many artists have performed a session for Guitar Center, including CHVRCHES, Cage The Elephant, Soundgarden, and Alice In Chains. At the previous show in Brasília, the band performed a regular run through of Set A, featuring 'Points Of Authority' and 'Crawling', as opposed to its counterpart. A small twist was added - new elements to the Experience Version of 'Castle Of Glass'. The speech interludes from A Thousand Suns, namely 'Wisdom, Justice, and Love' and 'The Radiance' were implemented into the song! The Martin Luther King, Jr. speech was sampled during the bridge and the J. Robert Oppenheimer speech was played over the piano transition into the Ballad Medley. Though small changes, they made for an epic new experience! heh, see what I did there? Check out the new elements added to 'Castle Of Glass' in the video, as well of the Ballad Medley immediately after. The WJL Bridge can be heard around 2:15 in the video, and the Radiance Outro begins at 3:20. What do you think about the new additions to the song? Setlist-wise, we're not too sure what to expect from this show. It's very probable that the band will perform a select few songs, probably some of the singles from The Hunting Party as well as their more popular singles from the past. Hell, even a debut or two from THP wouldn't be a ludicrous thought! If you asked me, I'd say 'Guilty All The Same', 'Rebellion', 'Final Masquerade', 'What I've Done', 'One Step Closer', and 'Numb' are all likely to be played. Most artists tend to play around 10 songs at the event, so be prepared for the likelihood of a shortened setlist! Who's heading to the show? There is limited access, though we'll be sure to get all the details for you! The show will be recorded, and will be aired via DirecTV on December 12, 2014. After this show, the band will head to Las Vegas to perform at the 'Stars Of The Season' Gaia, an event that Chester is very familiar with. Brad can be expected to return to this show, as it was learned that his absence in Brazil was due to an ear infection. A bunch of rumors have recently popped up about the band's touring schedule: a potential Winter Arena Tour in the United States in January/February, Australia and Asia in the summer, and Rock in Rio Brazil + a date in Sao Paulo in September. Check back here for updates on the show or follow us on Twitter for live updates! GlassCastles
Honestly, I wouldn't be too surprised if we saw a very similar set to the Red Bull Sound Space set. RogueSoul
On other news.. WTF Chvrches played a show for guitar sessions and they play almost zero guitar live looooooooooool Steve Aoki is an ambassador or somethingfor Guitar Center lol. At my relatively-local GC they sell literally everything: guitars, basses, keyboards, sampling machines, drums, etc. You name it. I really wanna work there when I become legally capable of getting a job Their motto is "We sell the best feeling on Earth." Best place to just vibe out. Haha thanks I'm relatively sure Aoki can do utilize a keyboard/synthesizer, mixing boards and a sampler, all of which can be provided by Guitar Center. LeonardoMF93
I think we shouldn't expect anything new for this concert. Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/11318-20141024-los-angeles-ca-guitar-center-sessions/#findComment-235646 Share on other sites
iamsatan
I'm going, somehow got a ticket through the LPU. I'm expecting a shortened hour or so setlist, maybe Daron will play Rebellion but I doubt it. arasLP
What if they started the show with Given Up like they did at Comic-Con? Anyway, I think the setlist is going to be like the one posted by Hahninator, but I think they'll play Final Masquerade since it's the new single. I don't think they'll play New Divide. eXoBlackOut
What if, as a total surprise, they play Hybrid Theory as a whole because of its birthday! A man can dream right? Mesck547
I expect a normal, short setlist for this show. Doesn't seem like anything special will happen. It will be interesting to see what kind of short setlist will be played, though. Tyleronlplive
I'm sure they will be playing their heavy and guitar-centered songs tonight, it's not like they would play Robot Boy or many rap songs for this. It would be nice if they could do something for HT's anniversary or even have a guest at the show. It would be nice if they could do something for HT's anniversary or even have a guest at the show. Guitar Center isn't just a guitar store. They sell everything music-related. The name means nothing and certainly has no bearing on what songs will be played. Tyleronlplive
Well I stand corrected, they are doing a full set tonight. Most of us figured it would be short like at Warped Tour or VMA's. Too bad they can't give us anything different for tonight. Astat
Downside to a full set: We'll probably only get half of it at most on the TV broadcast. Tyleronlplive
Downside: we have proshots of all of those songs from this touring cycle already, except for the newer COG with the speeches Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/11318-20141024-los-angeles-ca-guitar-center-sessions/#findComment-235925 Share on other sites
JZLP-Benningstrong
Fuck Why they always play this set when they are going to be broadcasted/streamed? If i'm correct there's only one proshot of DOYS-LFY...
