Another collaboration is being added to the list - Linkin Park has entered the studio with singer and producer Blackbear, according to this tweet:

in studio with @linkinpark
this gonna be crazy

Blackbear is best known for being a co-writer of Justin Bieber's infamous 'Boyfriend', but also has his own career, dabbling in hip-hop. Both his debut LP Deadroses (featuring single 'Idfc') and his follow up Help last year, and most recently, the Drink Bleach EP that can be found on Soundcloud.

What could be in the works? It could mean another Shinoda/Fort Minor feature on a track - we've gotten 'Like Ridding A Bike' recently with a verse by Mike being featured. The band has invited plenty of artists into the studio so far for this album cycle, and lots of collaborations have been dropping lately. What do you think is coming?

Linkin Park's seventh album is currently being recorded and news is starting to trickle in. Follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page to make sure you don't miss anything!

So far these have been relatively less-popular collaborators that have been confirmed. I wonder if they have more famous collaborators that they have been keeping under wraps (like Tom Morello working on Drawbar back in 2013- a year before THP was released).

The thing is, Mike talked about how cool it would be to collab with Kendrick Lamar, you may like him or not, but sometimes I think they should just do it. I don't think Kendrick would be not interested.A bit more risk sometimes would be much better in my opinion.

Same with Jay-Z. Why not do songs again? Like don't talk too much, JUST DO IT! :D

I'm really excited about the direction it seems they are taking. This album will likely be very refreshing in contrast to THP. I can't wait to hear the first snippet of the lead single; great times are just around the corner, my friends.

Great....they're making a pop record. Just what everyone wants.

Who knows what this means, but I'm always amazed at how many people want LP to make pop songs. Do you guys actually listen to pop records? Obviously everyone likes some pop songs, but why would you want this band to go that route. Do we need more songs like BID? No, no we don't. I knew THP was going to push them back towards a more poppy sound, I just didn't think they'd be working with dudes who work with Bieber.

That wouldn't surprise me. If I remember correctly, Mike said once that he liked that Aoki kept their collab under wraps for a while and resisted the urge to... Well, to do pretty much exactly what Blackbear did with that tweet lol.

Few days back, blackbear did a snapchat showing the studio where Linkin Park is now recording the new album and surprisingly there was a sneak peek what it could be the collaboration with LP.

What do you think?

Do we know for a fact that Blackbear is working with Linkin Park? Martin Garrix said he was working with Linkin Park and it ended up just being a track that featured Mike Shinoda. This is 100% for sure the ''superpop'' sound that Chester was talking about that the band was originally making for THP if it actually is Linkin Park music. If this is an indication of what the album might sound like, I think it's very different sounding for LP, maybe even more so than ATS or MTM ever could have been. I actually like it.

EDIT: Broman's post made me 99.9% sure that that's Mike singing in that clip.

That's definitely Mike. The question is whether that's a song that's planned for LP7 or if it's a collab for another artist that's featuring Mike. Either way, I like this clip. It's only 10 seconds long and it sounds like it'll be good when we hear the finished product.

We can't jump to conclusions yet about how the album sounds from this. It's not even their song. This is Blackbear's music, and I don't really think we know or care about any of his music changing a la early-THP to final-THP.

During the recording of THP and that cycle we got ALTNC and Darker Than Blood. Just because the band is collaborating with electronic/pop artists like this doesn't indicate that's the way they're going. And tey've said already they're not collaborating in a musical sense, but as writers.

You said that we should not jump to conclusions but you just confirmed that it's not their song, are you high?

It's very likely that this is a demo for the new LP album they are in the LP studio, Mike sings in the clip and also he recorded guitar for it lol.

The thing is, I think Linkin Park is picking individual artists to produce certain songs for the album. It might end up having a bunch of songs that are produced by different people. Now, that doesn't mean that these guests will be contributing vocals or musical work, but they might just be helping Linkin Park with certain tracks. For example, maybe Jon Green from The Bonfires was helping the band work on a specific song. Maybe Blackbear is helping the band work on a specific song. It's very interesting how they are creating this album, and they haven't given us much information at all really. They've been giving us a lot of pictures and videos from the recording process, but hardly anything about what the actual music sounds like, as Mike joked about on the podcast for the last album update. However, I think this clip is most likely the song that Blackbear is working on with Linkin Park. The vocals and beat sound pretty Linkin Parkish. And even though it's just a small clip, you can actually kind of tell a little bit about the song just from that clip alone. At first, I thought that was Chester singing, with an effect on his voice, but now it sounds like Mike singing, with an effect on his voice. Blackbear's singing sounds very similar to that style as well. It's definitely Linkin Park related, or at least Mike Shinoda related, because that's clearly Linkin Park's studio in that video. Knowing how Linkin Park is, we probably won't hear any further clips from this song or any information about this song again, unless it makes the record, which I'm sure it will.

I enjoyed your comment this is what we need

Well there's no problem if we have songs that are way too different look at BTH and the rest of Meteora or Victimized&Roads Untraveled sound extremely different but somehow they fit.
