    - This setlist was added in May 2016. The review for the show mentions 'Cure For The Itch', which obviously wasn't played as it omits 'With You' from the review. What's important is that it mentions 'High Voltage' instead of 'Forgotten', so the band likely swapped those two in-and-out during the OFFEST shows. The location of 'High Voltage' in the setlist is unconfirmed, but the review mentions it was just before 'Crawling'.

    Other Notes:

    - Offest / Big Day Off was essentially a "tour inside a tour" where a partial version of the Ozzfest lineup played eleven shows between Ozzfest shows.

    - The band had some equipment problems after 'With You', which delayed the start of the next song for a few minutes. Brad played a short 'Sweet Child O' Mine' guitar tease.

    - Before 'A Place For My Head' (during the break), Chester said that the song was influenced by 'Rocket Queen' by Guns N' Roses. During the intro, he screamed, "What doesn't fucking kill us makes us fucking stronger, am I fucking right?" three times.

    - 'High Voltage' was featured in the setlist, which was rare for the OFFEST shows. It is possibly the only OFFEST show that had it (even though we're missing the Portland setlist just before this show) and likely was played due the band bringing it back for the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame show a week earlier as well as the fact that they had played Wantagh in late June for a radio festival.

    - Brad started playing the usual 'In The End' guitar intro from 2001 after 'Crawling', but someone told the band that they only had time for one song left, so they went into 'One Step Closer' instead. Due to equipment problems, it is possible that the setlist was changed (since 'A Place For My Head' never was in the number two spot in the setlist) mid-show, but it is known that 'In The End' was at least planned to be played after 'Crawling'.

    - Chester on Spin (2004): At Jones Beach on Long Island. Total equipment failure. All of our DJ stuff was completely gone--there was no power in any of it. All of our drum samples went dead. It's Linkin Park with nothing but raw instruments. You listen to "One Step Closer" and there's nothing but guitar and bass. Then I physically transformed by body into a visualization of what was happening onstage, and by the end of the show, I was running around in nothing but my shorts. I had no shoes on, no shirt, no jewelry. I was basically singing a cappella. Kids were like, "What song is this?" Hopefully, it'll be just this good when we come back to Jones Beach."

    Other Notes:

    - In the Hybrid Odyssey documentary that has part of 'By Myself' from this show featured in it, MTV mistakenly lists the date for the show as March 9th, 2001.

    - MuchMusic did a contest for its Gonna Meet a Rockstar series where a fan would have the chance to spend the day with Linkin Park and watch the show from backstage. The episode aired on February 10, 2002 and features a clip of 'With You'.

    - Offest / Big Day Off was essentially a "tour inside a tour" where a partial version of the Ozzfest lineup played eleven shows between Ozzfest shows.

    - This show was filmed for HBO Reverb (as Mike mentions during the show) but it was never shown on TV, possibly because of the problems the band was having during the show. HBO ended up showing six songs from the London Docklands Arena show about five weeks later.

    - Chester performed 'Walk' (Pantera cover) with Disturbed.

    - 'High Voltage' was released in 2013 on the new Hybrid Theory deluxe edition on iTunes.

    - In 2001, Linkin Park was rumored to have played Top of the Pops in September 2001, but the date was confirmed to have been March 24, 2001 on the tour where they opened for Deftones. Chester's hair and the band members' appearances also correlate this. However, a tour itinerary obtained in March 2016 shows a second Top of the Pops date for September 13, 2001 as well, meaning the band was set to play TOTP two times that year. We have added the show to the guide, but we have zero confirmation that it was actually played. Most likely, the performance was canceled due to 9/11. The Maida Vale show the next day barely happened as well, giving more credit to this hypothesis.

    - This was the band's first television appearance in the United States. Their first television appearance ever was the Nulle Part Ailleurs performance in Paris a week prior.

    - On January 16, 2021, exactly 20 years after the performance, Linkin Park posted the performance video on social media. They added on Twitter: "We asked @joehahnLP and @phoenixlp what they remember from playing Conan:" The replies here: "The day after the Conan appearance, @therulernyc (Slick Rick) was on our flight.     From an interview with Mike when Meteora came out: "There is one time, we had just played Conan O'Brien, I think close to two years ago, and we were just kind of getting started in our minds. We were at the airport after the show, the next morning, and we're sitting there and I'm like, "Oh my gosh, that's Slick Rick!" He's so obvious--he's got an eyepatch on, gold teeth, a beret, all this jewelry, a fur coat on. He's impossible to miss, a fur coat on. And I was just thinking, "Wow, this is crazy, I'm seeing Slick Rick in the airport." Well, it wasn't as crazy as when he came up to us and said, "Hey, I caught you guys on Conan O'Brien." I'm just like, "Oh my God, that's the greatest thing ever. Slick Rick just came up and talked to us!" Things like that, you never get used to."

    - B-Real from Cypress Hill introduced Linkin Park to the stage.

    - The festival consisted of two stages, each inside a separate hangar at the Events Center - Jade Chamber and Crimson Chamber. Between the two hangars many booths were set up promoting various radio stations and selling food, drink, and products ranging from T-shirts to CDs to water pipes. Bands that played in the Jade Chamber consisted mainly of electronica and turntablists, while groups in the Crimson Chamber consisted of live bands and hip-hop bands.

    - 'Crawling' was released in a multi-angle video on the 'Frat Party At The Pancake Festival' DVD with the studio version overdubbed, but with the crowd noise mixed in. You can pick from 3 angles (wide angle, stage angle, pit angle) to watch it in.

    - 'Crawling' was performed in a shortened version, the first known case of Linkin Park doing this live for TV purposes. This happened again later in their career for television. 'Crawling' is missing a full chorus near the end of the song.

    Other Notes:

    - Originally, this show was rumored for years to have been in September 2001. Upon discovery of tour itineraries from 2001 in March 2016, we were able to confirm that yes, there was a canceled Top of the Pops performance on September 13, 2001. We had this date listed as being on March 24, 2001 before the London Docklands Arena show, but the tour itinerary discovery finally confirmed the date as being on March 8, 2001 between the Italy and Austria shows.
    - The band may have performed more than just these three songs (the case with Top of the Pops 2003 can be used as support for this). However, only these three were broadcasted. A February 2023 discovery of internal Top of the Pops tapes leads to the suggestion that only these three songs ended up being performed.

    - This show's setlist was a completely different order than what Linkin Park had been playing on the US-to-Europe Tour. It was essentially a fly date radio show between the Nagoya, Japan and Washington, DC shows. The band was likely trying to find an opening for Ozzfest 2001, where they tried 'A Place For My Head' and 'Points Of Authority' opening before they settled on 'With You'.

    - 'Papercut' opened the show for the first and only time in 2001. It had opened in 2000, but with 'Cure For The Itch' preceding it. Since this is the only physical setlist paper we have from this tour, it is unknown what the "Mr. Hahn's Encore Set" show intro was.

    - After 'High Voltage', the setlist lists a "MELLOW Interlude". Our guess is that this is the first time that the 'In Yourself' jam was played. It also came after 'High Voltage' at its next known show (Rock im Park show 2) and this is the only known time "MELLOW Interlude" was listed on a setlist. Joe's other interludes like "Lee Interlude", "Short Interlude", "Falling Down Interlude" are listed on the setlist, but this one is obviously a different interlude.

    Other Notes:

    - The band played this venue twice in a period of three weeks from May to June 2001, first for the Q101's Jamboree and again to kick off Ozzfest.

    - The setlist for this show was obtained on March 10, 2016 due to an eBay auction of the show setlist and pass.

    - Disturbed filmed their music video for 'Down With The Sickness' at this show.

    - The lineup for this show (unknown for sixteen years) was confirmed on December 4, 2017 from a submission by Brooke.

    the mtv VMA's were fun. i had a good time getting together with the xecutioners again. and for those that are into hip hop, i just got the advance of their album, and i think it's definitely worth checking out. the song joe and i did with them is on there. ...anyway, it was a big hollywood-style event, and we're all pretty glad to be done with it and back to a little more normal routine. we're touring in europe for the next couple of weeks, and then comes family values. check the tours section. word.

The inaugural U.S. version of the long-running British fest has been canceled. Organizers of the Reading Festival USA, slated for September 6 in Camden, New Jersey, didn't have enough time to bolster the show's roster, which included Eminem, Linkin Park and Xzibit, according to the festival's publicist. They were looking for high-profile opening acts for what was to be a 10-hour show at the Tweeter Center at the Waterfront. "Rather than proceeding with a shortened and diluted lineup that does not fully represent the history and reputation of the Reading Festival, we have decided to spend time assembling a more complete lineup for 2002," promoter Mean Fiddler said in a statement. Apparently, the additions announced last week - Adema, Boy Hits Car, Clinic, Folk Implosion, Guided By Voices and Muse - weren't up to the British company's snuff."

    - The show was put on by local radio station Rock 105.3 and was to make up for Chula Vista not having Ozzfest come to town that year. A large portion of the proceeds from this show went to the Red Cross since it occurred just after 9/11.

    - "There were a few speed bumps along the way. Ozzy and Godsmack had to pull out due to complications arising out of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Luckily, the Deftones signed on at the last minute to headline and Linkin Park, who were taking a vacation between their recently completed European tour and the start of the Family Values tour, decided to take part as well and donate their proceeds of around $75,000 to the American Red Cross."

    While we weren't in the country on September 11, we're extremely touched and strengthened by the outpouring of support we received from fans in Europe. The horror of the tragedy reaches far beyond the United States, and we've witnessed this first hand.
