  1. Spotted another guest in the studio
  2. http://lplive.net/shows/db/greydaze/20020907 The comment from Grey Daze's bassist has some grammar mistakes, unless that was what he typed and it was copied word for word.
  3. It's cool, Mike's singing has definitely improved lately but some of his parts before the drop don't sound like he should be singing there - maybe someone with a higher register.
  4. People say the same thing about LP all the time. Plus this is the first and possibly only show since Scott's passing.
  5. I wonder if Scott's passing led to this in any form.
  6. Counting down the seconds until it is posted somewhere else...
  7. Well it isn't like they had completed pop songs, Mike had just made some demos that sounded too poppy before he scrapped them.
  8. How does this update compare to the studio update that came out around this time two years ago before THP? At that point Mike said he couldn't wait for us to hear it that summer, so there was a more solid timeframe then. Is it safe to say that they aren't as far along in the process as they were for THP during that update?
  9. I don't see Joe
  10. Brad playing acoustic guitar in the studio, those of you on the mailing list will get an update: https://www.instagram.com/p/BBQZ0Gpi4fA/
  11. Has anything been mentioned about a producer yet, or is it safe to assume that it will be largely self-produced (Mike and Brad) like THP?
  12. Cool, does anyone know how they got in contact? Are one of the guys friends with Jon?
  13. Added the post above me and a lyric to Rhinestone now that the official lyrics were released. Does anyone else see anything new there?
  14. Maybe they wanted to start in December and then do it in Feb, Apr, June, August, October. If they started it in January (two months from Nov) it would mean the last track would be released like a week before LPU 16, which is a bit weird because there wouldn't be much time to promote it.
  15. damn, this should be good! I'll wait until the full track is released to say anything
  16. It isn't that I didn't see this as a possibility, but ever since he got started with the Wildabouts and has been turning things around ever since leaving STP, it seemed like he was on a good streak. His guitarist just died at the beginning of the year too. It looks like STP may be done for a while now.
  17. Signal Snowboard has built a guitar out of cardboard as part of their Cardboard Chaos series and made a video with Brad demoing it. The video features Final Masquerade in the background during the construction of the guitar before Chester shows it to Brad. Thoughts? What other instruments should the band experiment with next?
  18. Ok so after listening to them here's my short review: 1. Animals - The instrumental sounds just like an LPU release. The lyrics are good but the style/flow is what Mike was stuck doing repetitively during the LT era. Probably all Mike and clearly intended to have some other lyrics added, but I'm not sure how Chester would fit in there other than for a bridge. 2. Basil - I like this interlude (calling it that because of the length). Could have maybe worked on TRT or even Meteora. I like the lyrics. 3. Pods 1 of 3 - I'm really into post-rock now so I'm digging this one. Sounds like a film soundtrack/score, which is surprising for the time period of 1998. Interested in hearing the story behind these three 4. Pods 2 of 3 - If Mr. Hahn had any input on these tracks, it would have been this one. A continuation of the prior one, so it's similar at first. The second part of it isn't anything big though. 5. Pods 3 of 3 - These should have just been one track to be real here. This one is the least interesting because it's so repetitive. Cut out a few layers and it could be a decent beat for a full song. 6. Chance of Rain - The very beginning sounds like the soundtrack to Megaman 8. Finally some Chester action. This was 2006, around the same time as QWERTY, let that set in for a second. I like how it builds at least. Lyrics are alright but could be better. Chester sounds pretty relaxed which is nice, close to his vocals in the first part of Valentine's Day/SOTD. That bridge should not be there, and be replaced with a guitar line instead of the dial-up modem. Looking forward to the next six songs, which probably haven't been picked yet.
  19. LPU 15 will have some new additions if anyone can help.
  20. Counting down the minutes until a stream...
  21. That's a relief that it's fake. The album art is real though?
  22. lpliveusername posted that and another picture in the shoutbox with the tracklisting
  23. https://scontent-mia1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtf1/v/t1.0-9/12311203_972922262781035_6007779160672336878_n.jpg?oh=709cd422b5dc488ca4b23652b66b1696&oe=56F00A56 Can anyone confirm this?
  24. He played bass, I couldn't tell if he had a mic or anything though. And Mark, there's no link for the Aoki performance on the Guesting page (but you can still get to it by clicking the next show after the other Aoki performances).
  25. From what I see on the Snapchat videos, the night began with some of the band members giving speeches and then Steve was honored with the award. Then Steve performed DTB with Mike and Chester, then some more band members and Hoppus talking, then LP's set. So if I'm right we will need a page for Steve's performance and put (with Mike and Chester) in the Guesting page.
