Summary: LPU 16 & New Album Facebook Livestream

I kind of want it to be released on Thanksgiving just so they can give us Thanksgiving (Until It's Gone Demo) -
Summary: LPU 16 & New Album Facebook Livestream

I don't expect a Numb demo, it sounded like Mike just stuttered on the word "number" and then said it right after, based on the context of what he was talking to Lorenzo about. I don't think the 2015 demos will be demos of what ends up on the 7th album, but obviously they are from the writing sessions. The 2014 demo could possibly be a late one from THP writing sessions. -
That's pretty cool, I remember he gave the graduation speech at UCLA in 2009.

Haven't seen anyone speculate the album's release amidst all these festival announcements, so any thoughts guys? I'm guessing this would be the festival tour to promote the album either right before its release and official tour or the album will be released between these shows.

Is it an official band or just a group of musicians doing some one-off shows for now? I've been viewing this past few months of guesting as Chester's Bucket of Weenies 2016.

Most Disappointing Thing LP Has Ever Done For You
Tyleronlplive replied to Geki's topic in Everything Linkin Park
I think it makes it more interesting, Nine Inch Nails does a lot of their songs in different ways live. Imagine an LP concert where everything is just the same as the album - OSC, Faint, Bleed It Out, and others would all be under 3 minutes long and there would be nothing special about the songs. -
Other than what everyone has been suggesting, here are mine: Leave some wiggle room for a random song or two to be put in the setlist at the last minute, or even in the middle of the show. I know this wouldn't work for songs that haven't been played in a long time that the band doesn't keep the samples on hand for, but they can insert APFMH at random shows (Joe scratching basically stays the same), so maybe the more rock-centered ones can be put in - even take requests if they work. Instead of arranging setlists on how well the gear changing flows, arrange it on how the energy changes. Nine Inch Nails has done a lot of tour sets with "slow sections" in the middle to give the band a break, even playing some instrumentals during that time. This would be better than alternating between heavy and soft songs. Alternate the songs that are never dropped - make a few cycles of Numb, New Divide, Breaking The Habit, and other common songs. Not very likely to happen (at least not regularly), but keep bringing out guests on shows. It can be members from the touring bands (Mike Einziger, Tim McIlrath, Aaron Lewis, Austin Carlisle, etc.) or a friend who's in the neighborhood like Jay-Z. Anything to make every show special, even if the setlists are similar, would be an improvement.

This song was definitely the first LP song that could show the basis of a lot of future songs - sampled intro, Mike raps in the verses, Chester sings the chorus and yells the bridge. It's kind of become a novelty live since they just can't do a show without it and honestly I watch performances of it purely for the audience's effort on the bridge, but I still love it every time.

Might be speculating (but then again, welcome to LPLive.net), but I'm thinking since they've gone past their original plans for when the album would be released, maybe it will end up like THP where a new song was released almost every day in the days leading up to the album release

Chester To Perform w/ The Hellcat Saints @ Rhonda's Kiss Benefit
Tyleronlplive replied to LESTAT's topic in Newswire
This is really awesome to keep seeing these guest spots while there's no information on the album lately -
You guys realize that even Mike has a life outside of the studio and does a lot else too, right? He's probably the most active band member on social media so we always see what he's doing in his downtime. He and Joe go to art galleries or make art and he goes to concerts too, he just iany the one performing. And Mike is one of the main songwriters, so Chester enjoying himself outside of the studio is perfectly normal. Plus, he enjoys singing rock songs and has said it strengthens his voice, so it's like some extra rehearsals for recording vocals.

This is awesome! Chester and Scott Weiland have collaborated with a lot of the same musicians now.

Mike makes a neat sample and suddenly people start talking about pronouns... We really need a single to end this boredom.
-
I'd be cool with this, I was actually thinking about them doing this last week. Chainsmokers are at least really catchy instead of most of the generic artists LP has worked with lately. Could also just be another episode of Mike and Chester on vocals for the other artist labeled as "feat. Linkin Park" but that would still be cool.

Chester also sang an acoustic song/songs on the streets of Beijing, anyone have info on that? -

Phoenix gives quick update on next album + collaborations
Tyleronlplive replied to RogueSoul's topic in Newswire
I wish we could at least get a number of how many collaborators have already been in the studio. It seems like every update pushes the album further back - now Phoenix is saying that only a single will be out around the time that Mike hoped for the album to be released. -
So far these have been relatively less-popular collaborators that have been confirmed. I wonder if they have more famous collaborators that they have been keeping under wraps (like Tom Morello working on Drawbar back in 2013- a year before THP was released).

New song featuring Linkin Park - Things In My Jeep
Tyleronlplive replied to SergSlim's topic in Newswire
Is that facebook post written by Connor4Real (the character in Popstar)? That's funny. -
Last night he had some more snapchats from the studio, but it was just him messing with some engineers. There was one point where he scrolled past a board of song titles but only showed the column that had what musical keys they were in. One song said the word "symphony" but that was the only thing that was legible.

Yeah that. Although it would be hilarious to see Chester and Mike playing exaggerated pop versions of themselves. -
New song featuring Linkin Park - Things In My Jeep

Cool, i'd assume it will be featured in a scene in the movie. I wonder if it is he full band or just Mike and Chester since that was essentially what it meant on Darker Than Blood. -
Added Hurt and Strength
