  1. Linkin Park Live is now the prime age to start listening to Hybrid Theory and Meteora and make AMVs of Dragon Ball Z fights lmao. Happy anniversary gang
  2. I don't think I've posted here since before Chester passed, but I read the site nearly every day in that time. It still feels surreal and as if he just took a break from the band and has not been seen in the public, but I accept his death and know that the band's future has completely changed. I had a difficult few months following Chester's death, even if they weren't affected by it. But the strange silver lining is that the conversation about Mental Health has become more prevalent than ever. Watching the memorial concert in October really shows how many people he impacted throughout his career, both professionals and fans. Even more, it really showed how Linkin Park's fanbase is one of the most compassionate in the world - caring for the band, Talinda, each other, and strangers across the world who share a love for some music. I'm glad to see that many people have gotten help in light of this tragedy and if anyone else is struggling, know you are loved like Chester is and there is always someone to reach out to for help. Rest in peace, Chester.
  3. I think anything where Mike sings the majority of the lyrics (like full verse and shared chorus with Chester) should he considered.
  4. It's too early to make predictions, of course, but I would expect something more like Joy Division becoming New Order after singer Ian Curtis passed. Becoming a separate entity to honor the fact that his absence meanthe the original band couldn't call itself that.
  5. Haha, I don't even remember reading the caption to that picture but your screenshot shows that I still liked it. Honestly hoping that it's something not from OML, but I'm sure it will be.
  6. I honestly forgot I made this thread, lol. I'll add them some other time.
  7. I'll be brief; Too many cooks in the kitchen on this album made the songwriting suffer. Worst LP album but the songs are not indivisually horrible, just most of them. Talking To Myself should have been the lead single. Heavy sounds even worse in comparison to the other tracks, most of which I don't care enough to listen to agaih. Invisible is good for a formulaic pop song. The title track is the saving grace of the album; it makes me want to cry in the fetal position in an empty room. The band kept making us think that this was the kind of emotion that they put into each song and I wish it had been that wayou since OML is now in the running for their greatest soft song.
  8. How long do these radio promo cycles normally last, if that's even a thing? They won't have much time for a club tour if this continues, but I'm not really counting on a club tour happening at this point.
  9. If anyone happens to accidentally find Pictureboard in the meantime, let me know.
  10. Chester sounded damn good on Heavy. I liked the drums at the end of the bridge, made it seem heavier than it is. The lighting was pretty good, but the performance reminded me again of how freaking short it is. And James Corden got on stage afterward and said they are touring with the Chainsmokers?? The alleged second song didn't get broadcasted, if that is true then hopefully it will be posted online in the morning.
  11. https://www.instagram.com/p/BRB7nQEBqOZ/?taken-by=phoenixlp&hl=en Brad is looking over the strum pattern/tab/whatever for "Invisible". Are they going to debut that on the show tonight too?
  12. One-offs with STP/Kings of Chaos or other bands would be fine for Chester, it would be like taking a business trip and then coming home, especially since some shows are in the LA area anyway. Picking his family and sticking with the one band is completely understandable.
  13. Were Dave, Joe, and Rob joking when they said it was nice to meet Kiiara? They recorded a song with her and half of the band didn't meet her?
  14. Show's started. Just Mike on piano, Chester and Kiiara on vocals, and Brad on guitar and probably sampler. Crawling (Piano version)
  15. Where did you read that the video will take place in a therapy session? This is another new for the band, a "sketch" for their video where they are the actors instead of just a performance video/other actors doing the drama. Not sure where to go from that.
  16. From the Inside and Numb were both filmed while they were in Prague.
  17. Looks like they are doing something similar to what Fort Minor did before Welcome was announced.
  18. Chester said they were in the mixing stage, so that meant recording was done, so does that mean the mixing is done now too?
  19. I was going to say that since it's straightforward rock, someone would just have to play piano on it though.
  20. Well we can eliminate anything that Mike raps on, so thag gets rid of most kf the popular singles. Even ones like UIG that are just Chester have a lot of electronic elements, so... One Step Closer.
  21. No I'm talking about the piano interlude that Mike would play during The Radiance while he sang lyrics from The Catalyst through a vocoder.
  22. Has anyone else noticed that Symphonies of Light Reprise is similar to what Mike would sint and play on the keyboard/vocoder during The Radiance at some ATS shows?
  23. First Impressions: The Catalyst: Almost identical to the album version other than the bridge lyrics but it's fine, but I don't think one line of lyrics changing doesn't constitute a reason to release this as a demo. The vocal take was different too and you can tell, but since it seems like it was before any autotune or touchups were done, it's nice to hear Chester's (probably) raw performance at the parts that don't have any effects. Can't Hurt Me: I love it. With the pop song chords at first, I thought this was going to be one of the pre-Hunting Party pop songs that Mike had written, but it just got so good. I like the rising guitar in it, just a little too quiet. The synth bridge reminds me of an old Nine Inch Nails synth voice. Another highlight is the drums toward the end. Dark Crystal: This doesn't remind me of Linkin Park in many ways, maybe just the structure and the way it builds. Not really my thing, but no major complaints. Nice to see a demo like this and that Mike has still been doing hip-hop centric demos like this even today (well, 2015). Air Force One: Nothing really grabs me here. Bleed It Out: Mike's flow is pretty good on here and I like the lyrics. I wish the drums would come in at the start of the second verse like on the album instead of right before the chorus. I really like the very end when Mike starts rapping again. The bass is a little different but it's cool; the light piano is a nice touch too. Consequence A and B: A should stay the way it is an be the intro to a full song; I can't really picture it fitting on ATS or even LT though. B is weird. Lies Greed Misery: Wait wasn't the demo called Piledriver? Kinda cool how Mike was laying out ideas on this but it was just the one loop. I'd like to hear what the demo sounded like when it got the full structure the way that LGM sounds on LT. Burberry: Too short, could be really cool though. Symphonies Of Light Reprise: ACOUSTIC!!! This could have been a great outro to ATS if the band hadn't written The Messenger - I wonder how that decision went down. I like how the synth from The Catalyst comes back in, but it should have been on a piano or something acoustic so it wouldn't clash. I like it more than I like the last two LPU releases but I wish the short songs were at least full, other than the ones that were possibly intended as interludes. It's nice that we are getting more recent demos, so I wonder if they have reached the bottom of the barrel for old demos. Other than demos of songs that are on the old albums that haven't been released yet (PMA, Numb, etc.), I wonder if there are any other finished songs that haven't been released yet.
