It's a combination of a slightly better source than the DVD and AI upscaling. In some cases the AI upscaling artifacts are super obvious (for example in fast camera sweeps above the crowd) but the result wouldn't be this good if the source was the original DVD quality.

How can you forget the toolbox?

Welcome to the release cycle of every release in existence.

They can't just do that. When someone subscribes to mailing list, the user gives consent for a very specific usage of the address they provided. In some areas of the world (e.g. the EU) regulations and laws around stuff like that got very strict and no sane company wants to screw around with it. Also imagine how many people who never bought the boxset would have signed up for the replacement if they knew it was freely available? As I said, the only reasonable solution would have been for Warner to make resellers aware and those resellers then contact their customers.

While the quality increased, they changed the color grading quite drastically in some of the newer versions and I can understand that people prefer the muted colors of the original versions compared to the new ones. I personally think the red in Numb is a bit too vibrant for example. All in all I am glad we got the upgrades though. Regarding a LIT upgrade: If they would do a similar upgrade, they would have to rescan all the original film material, recreate the original cut, do all the necessary editing etc. There were probably way more cameras involved in a live concert recording than a music video shot, so the material they would have to work with is magnitudes more compared to the 4 3-minute videos. At that point the money and time investment is probably not feasible anymore.

Meteora (20th Anniversary Edition) | Out April 7, 2023

I assume those things will be updated once we have everything. It makes no sense to start editing the same pages every 2 weeks. In the end everyone involved in those projects are volunteers who are sacrificing a lot of their time. -
I don‘t understand what a random RtR screenshot has to do with Pictureboard? Also the response is clear, the sample has already been submitted, it needs manual review though. What do you expect to happen?
-
That is exactly how it worked? If you bought it from a third party, how is Warner supposed to know about your purchase and your contact information? They can’t so they created a sign up page were you were able to register for replacements but they were only able to contact people who purchased it from them directly. I think there were people on here who registered for those replacements and also got them, even though they bought it from somewhere else. If you didn‘t get that information it is probably up to the company who handled distribution in your region.

Meteora (20th Anniversary Edition) | Out April 7, 2023

I wonder what the process for getting these higher qualities out was. It is definitely not like they just had the videos we had before in higher quality and they had to reupload them. The new version of Numb has a different aspect ratio and a vastly different color grading for example. Here is the exact same moment from the Numb video, and as you can see the new one is much more vibrant. Also what's really odd and I wonder if they are already aware of that: You get the original video upload when you select 360p instead of a downsampled version of the 4k version. Which is cool, that way it is easy to compare both versions. But the original 360p upload is totally out of sync with the audio. I assume audio for all versions is used from the new version while the old video had a shorter break in the beginning or something like that (that's why the screenshots have a different timestamp). I wasn't able to find similar differences in other versions, but they seem to use the same base version of the video file for all quality options and I was too lazy to find a good upload of the original video quality. -
Meteora (20th Anniversary Edition) | Out April 7, 2023

Somewhere I Belong got updated again and is also available in 4k now. -
At this point a track being mixed by Manny is a given. Manny Marroquin mixed basically everything Mike was involved with since Living Things with the exception of The Hunting Party and some other songs here and there. He knows what he is doing and Mike obviously likes working with him.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't want to shit on everything and complain. I am as excited for this whole thing as everyone else on here. I am also just really worried that we get a similar situation as with the HT20 where an otherwise amazing release is going to be tainted with unnecessary problems.
-
- the original leak on the warner store - the delay of pretty much everything - the computer thing that had the weirdest story line while the whole thing was buggy - accidental "Instrumental" on the tracklisting on Session printed on the merch - the cover art that was published with the "Frontside" (or whatever the wording was) still being visible - "Mark Fiore Meteora Awesome" placeholder on the discs on the product pictures instead of "Work in Progress" (got partially fixed by now) - publishing the video geoblocked (which seems like it got fixed now) And that's just the things I can think of from the top of my head. I probably forgot a couple of things already.

I doubt that anyone in the band was involved in such a decision and I would hope they sort it out sooner than later. But jesus christ, the promo phase for M20 is just full of errors and small mistakes. I am not complaining about the content we are getting, which is great, but the presentation and attention to detail has been horrible. Like don't they have some sort of quality assurance? I am really worried about the packages we will get in April, especially after the HT20 fiasco.

They've been uploaded 3 days ago. A channel this big would get processing prioritized I guess and they should be done by now. -

New (unlisted) Youtube videos on the LP channel including the original LPTV episodes that have never been on their channel and extended versions of the other LPTV episodes. Sadly everything seems to be 480p only. Does someone know why episode 1 and 5 are missing from LPs youtube channel? All other episodes seem to be there? Can someone give me a reminder where that shot of the board came from? Is it from an LPTV as well?

Most people think the person who is singing is also the person who wrote the song (in general, not just for LP) so for most people the main songwriter for LP was Chester.
-
I think this is a matter of definition what you count as "recorded" or not. They definitely recorded something since, as you said, you can hear prior recordings. You can clearly hear recordings of harmonies in the background when he is singing the second part you mentioned. What people most probably mean is that the session or the recorded vocal tracks were never saved. I.e. they opened up the project on the computer, recorded the vocal tracks for fun, and then closed the project without saving it. So yeah, it was technically recorded at one time, but the current assumption is that those recordings were never properly saved for future access. But then again, who knows. As far as I remember the only confirmation we got that it wasn't recorded was from one interview with Mike and by now we should know how unreliable those one off answers about topics that were never discussed elsewhere are.

I missed those. So I thought New Divide was the only non-Meteora reference which made it stand out.

There is no new puzzle. They just added this hint towards Monday, so we will have to wait. In addition they made the discs next to the WIP DVD clickable (links to the Lost video) and the Christmas ball on the shelf got clickable (links to the merch store).
-
The interesting part about that was also that they seem to not know anything about the Atmos version of Hybrid Theory. But I agree with what he said.

Flowers is played quite frequently here in Germany as far as I can tell. But it's also a great song so that's fine.
