  1. Can't wait to meet you guys. Should be fun
  2. Nobody Can Save Me has always struck as more optimistic. "I'm holding up a light / Chasing out the darkness inside", admitting their coping methods were "false solutions", realizing that searching "somewhere out there" for the solution was wrong, culminating in the realization that "Only I can save me now". It very much comes across to me, at the very least, as one final attempt to rid oneself of their inner demons.
  3. They have more than enough songs they could do from the back catalog with Mike as lead. Crowd already sings a fair bit of In The End, Numb could definitely work in a stripped down form, Mike is creative enough to make a song like Faint or Papercut work, there's a ton of stuff from MTM to now that Mike could handle. It's not like it'd be impossible to do older stuff with Mike as lead, but stuff like One Step Closer is gonna have to be retired.
  4. 1. One More Light 2. Castle Of Glass 3. Burning In The Skies 4. The Little Things Give You Away 5. Valentine's Day 6. Robot Boy 7. Final Masquerade 8. Roads Untraveled 9. Tinfoil / Powerless 10. Mark The Graves Honorable mentions: Waiting For The End, Hands Held High, Leave Out All The Rest, Blackbirds, Halfway Right
  5. I like that the last chorus has that extra punch to it. It wouldn't feel as good to have Chester's final vocals in the other choruses IMO
  6. There is a difference between bullying/silencing someone for an opinion and debating/discussing one. I like to think we create an environment where ALL opinions regarding the band (within reason, of course) are welcome. Mark and I "argue" almost weekly about the quality of Hybrid Theory and Meteora lol. Every forum will be a bit of an echo chamber, that's just the nature of the beast, and it was pretty bad around the release of OML, I agree, but I haven't really seen much here that could be seen as bullying. I do think they have the capability of going forward as a five piece on a purely musical level. Mike and Brad have made up the core of the songwriting process for a while, and Mike has grown to be a more than competent singer. The dude is a proper frontman on Invisible live, and there are plenty of songs in the discography that the band can do with Mike on lead vocals. Emotionally is a different variable all together, and one that no one here has a better grasp of than anyone else here.
  7. This bothers me a bit. People are legitimately considering what the future of the band is, and almost everything so far hints towards Linkin Park continuing in some form. Whether or not it's the huge tours they used to do or moving towards smaller venues or even just becoming a studio band. Saying that fans are being selfish seems to be coming out of nowhere because I have seen nowhere, oh here anyway, a sense of entitlement towards Linkin Park's continued existence. I agree they don't owe us anything, and that only they know the future of the band, but a lot of what you said seems to come out of left field.
  8. Dude, they just put out a statement that all but confirmed Linkin Park would be continuing in some form. If they announce they're done, I'll be incredibly surprised.
  9. Boy are you going to be pissed when LP starts playing shows lol
  10. AKA sucks thinking that your opinion (or I guess the opinions of others?) are facts Um, reviews are always going to be subjective. Someone's personal taste will always dictate the direction a review will take. And saying a review is subjective is the same as a review being biased is just wrong. Yes, there should be some objectivity in a review, as little as there really can be in a field where it is literally giving thoughts on a piece of art, but the verdict will always be subjective. So, our basis for what is good and isn't good needs to be "proven correct" by reviewers? Alright, pack it up then. No point in actually listening for yourself. Wonder Woman is objectively a better film than 90% of the MCU. A Thousand Suns is barely above mediocre. If that's not what you were trying to say, why bring it up at all? Is it a fact that critics didn't like it? Yeah. Is it a fact that because of that, the album is bad? Not even close. Critics not liking an album doesn't make it objectively bad. THAT is a fact. You know what, I agree here. Blindly loving or hating something just because it's by a certain artist or is in a certain genre is dumb. However that isn't what's happening here, and it feels intellectually dishonest to claim that it is.
  11. This is actually incorrect. You're 100% within your right to criticize an album if you feel it's not to your tastes but claiming that it's "factually bad" is incredibly asinine.
  12. Come on, now. This comes across as incredibly close minded.
  13. Them going forward as a five piece, whether under the name Linkin Park or under some other name, makes the most sense to me. I have full faith in Mike being able to take over for lead vocals.
  14. Mike does, like, 90% of Rebellion in some capacity. If he just does some rap verse over the bridge, it's covered completely. Same goes for Faint, just with the chorus, too.
  15. 1. The Requiem 2. The Radiance 3. Burning In The Skies 4. Empty Spaces 5. When They Come For Me 6. Points of Authority (Demo Version) 7. It's Goin' Down 8. Until it Breaks (Shortened (Through Chester's Part)) 9. Waiting For The End/Hands Held High (Apaches Intro w/ 'Until It Breals' v3) 10. Castle Of Glass/Kenji (Bridge w/ 'Wisdom, Justice, and Love' Speech Samples) 11. Sorry For Now 12. Roads Untraveled 13. Numb (Piano Version) 14. Final Masquerade (Acoustic Version) 15. Where'd You Go 16. Invisible 17. Welcome 18. High Voltage 19. Remember The Name (Shortened) 20. Faint (w/ 'Papercut' Chorus + 'xx' Bridge [Alternate bridge verse]) -------------------------- 21. Rebellion (Ext. Intro; Grudgematch Bridge) 22. In The End (Crowd Sing-A-Long Version)
  16. Them going forward as a five piece makes the most sense to me. I can't see them getting a new singer. Chemistry wouldn't really be there, it'd probably feel weird etc.
  17. That's just ridiculous IMO. A few months is a pretty safe guess for when we'll hear something more definitive about the future of the band.
  18. It's possible they canceled the US tour just because it's so close. By November, they may have a better grasp of where the band is gonna go.
  19. Stick And Move is a demo from that release for Runaway... Not really another title variation to consider
  20. This is so wrong I'm not even sure where to start
