1. If it's on Youtube, it's not a "very rare show." 2. I've maintained all along that this was a cover band (and a very bad one at that - their guitarist isn't playing anything close to correct in half of these songs). Not sure where Skipees got that I said something different, unless he's getting this show confused with something else I brought up at some point.

If nothing else, it's nice to have confirmation that the 1.61 GB version we've had for a long time is indeed the master, and we don't have to worry about trying to track down an upgrade for this recording anymore!

The only time The Requiem was performed with the Oppenheimer Outro (a.k.a. the album version of The Radiance) was at the NYC release show for A Thousand Suns. The Requiem always had the instrumental portion of The Radiance after it, they just swapped the Oppenheimer speech out for the Savio one once they decided to open shows with The Requiem/Wretches (but kept it that way for shows with other opening songs too). I suggested ages ago that all ATS shows that open with The Requiem should have the setlist pages like this: 01. The Requiem 02. The Radiance (w/Savio speech) 03. (next song) ...But staff shot me down on that one for some reason. If it weren't for it being listed as "The Radiance" on A Thousand Suns +, I'd say the interlude after Numb should just be a performance note - "Numb (w/Oppenheimer outro + The Catalyst lyrics)" instead of how it's currently listed as "The Radiance (Live Version)." This has always bugged me, because the "Speech Scratch Outro" note after The Requiem doesn't give any indication that the instrumental portion of The Radiance was actually played. The Savio speech by itself isn't counted as a partial performance of Wretches and Kings, so why should the Oppenheimer speech over a completely unrelated piece of music be counted as a performance of The Radiance?

The song isn't BAD, at least instrumentally...it's just one of those "ho-hum" mid-tempo songs that doesn't really push the envelope much. It kind of reminds me of some of STP's more indie rock-ish stuff from their most recent album with Scott. The biggest letdown is surprisingly the vocals. After Chester's phenomenal performance on Out of Time, I had really high expectations for the rest of the EP, but he honestly just sounds lazy on this track. Not off-key, not a bad melody or anything...he just sounds like he didn't put a lot into this song. Definitely one of the more "phoned-in sounding" vocal performances of his career. Bummer.

It's not too bad if you progress enough to buy a few glove/shield upgrades. I'm at Rank 14 and I can take out any Hybrid in a maximum of 2 hits with the Fire element (except for the giant "bosses" like the one found at the end of today's daily challenge/end of Outlands level 16). I rarely even take damage to my Energy anymore because my Shield is at like 180. ...Yeah, definitely hoping they open up the second sector soon.

Save for Mike and Rick's remixes, that's probably the case. "Remixing" to most people these days amounts to creating a new instrumental track from scratch and slapping the acapella over the top of it...you wouldn't believe the amount of bitching I saw during the Lost in the Echo remix contest. "USING THE ORIGINAL SYNTH HOOK IN A REMIX IS SUPER CHEAP" and other shit like that. I had numerous people tell me my entry "shouldn't even qualify as a remix" because I used some of the original instrumental stems. No idea what the fuck happened with the remixing community, but I don't like it one bit.

All of the guitar heard in the Making Of video is in the final version of the song.

Out of Time was WAY better.

+ Inside Living Things (both were released through Xbox Live).

Nothing different with Dedicated, other than the overall sound quality perhaps being slightly better on Songs from the Underground (the LPU 2.0 CD generally sounds like crap - compare that version of My December with any other release). The only differences in Step Up are the mastering differences between the original and reissue versions of the HTEP (same with the other 5 tracks).

They'll end up taking a loss on it anyway, in all likelihood. I doubt they end up selling 100 of these before dropping the price.
-
I'd be surprised if they didn't. *Edit* Finally listened to it. Didn't catch this based on the live version, but I just have to point it out now - ANOTHER song that reuses the chord progression from What I've Done? Jesus christ. How many is that now, 6? 7?
-
Not too worried about the box set, honestly. It'll end up on sale for less than half its original price within a year, just like the MTM and ATS ones did when they took forever to sell out.

Surprisingly enough, I still haven't heard it.

The ones that play during gameplay itself are in mono. The background music on the menus is stereo though. Not really sure what the deal is with that. But yeah, there are 3 tracks that are in stereo.

Found two new instrumental tracks that we didn't have previously! Pretty sure they were just added to the game today, actually. I didn't hear them at all the last couple days, but started hearing them in the in-game "mix" regularly today, even while playing through levels I've already beaten. Up to 11 tracks for the "game score" now.

First repeat of the last chorus riff (right after the end of the bridge). He misses the first note at the 10th fret and then plays an open C# instead of a D# at the 2nd fret shortly afterward. http://lplive.net/astat/Bass_tabs/No%20Mor...rrow%20Bass.txt - Scroll down to "Final Chorus" and compare it to every other repeat of the chorus riff.

Typical Rik Leushuis behavior. Shame he lives in the Netherlands, don't think my arm can reach QUITE that far to slap him.

So releasing a CD that contains 10-11 previously unreleased tracks and 4-5 previously released ones somehow equates to "not doing their job," "not making sounds that are pleasant to the ear," "not being efficient/not doing a quality job?" I wasn't aware that the presence of 4 tracks you've already heard negates the quality of the other 11 tracks you haven't. With that kind of logic, you're literally saying that A.06 and Dedicated are automatically crappy songs because they were released on a CD that had My December on it, which had already been released. I'm not one for political correctness, particularly coming from musicians. I'm not a Mike Shinoda fan because he can carry on a diplomatic coneversation with people who disagree with him, I'm a fan because the guy makes good music. For christ's sake, I still listen to Lostprophets knowing that their lead singer is probably going to rot in prison for a long time for raping infant children. The fact that Ian Watkins is a sick fuck doesn't make his music shitty. The people who are all "OMG I'm throwing away all my Lostprophets CDs" are just as much in the wrong as Ian is for being a pedophile - they're both idiots. I think the biggest flaw with the ENTIRE HUMAN RACE is people's inability to separate people's work from the people themselves. The fact that Vince Neil killed the drummer from Hanoi Rocks and got off with zero jail time for it doesn't make him a terrible singer. The fact that Orson Scott Card is an outspoken homophobic jackass doesn't make him a terrible author. The fact that Chris Perez got busted for marijuana possession in middle of the MLB season doesn't make him a terrible pitcher. That doesn't stop people from inexplicably saying as much about them, but that doesn't mean they're right. So yes, if Linkin Park acted like me, they'd probably lose some fans, but those fans would be the ones in the wrong. The fans are USUALLY the ones in the wrong.
-
According to YOU, that's their job. Thankfully, that's not up to people like you or me to decide. You're getting new music. Shut the FUCK up. I think I've said this before, but Linkin Park fans are lucky the band members aren't like me, because you'd NEVER get new music if they were. You don't fucking deserve it. Also, by that logic, it would've been better for them to release the same CD with the 10 unreleased tracks on it. Apparently having CD quality versions of stuff that was previously available in mp3 means nothing to people anymore...
-
So far, looks like it's the same 8 tracks from the original rip. Also, bad news - all of the in-game sounds are in mono, so unless someone can get into the Flash coding and find the original mp3s (which may be in mono anyway for all we know), that's all we're going to get. However, the ones I've ripped are MUCH better quality than the originals. I've managed to get 7 of the 8 tracks without any game sounds in the background (the main menu theme has a constant "droning" noise in the background even when you shut sound FX off). There's also a short little "battle theme" thing that plays every time you first encounter a Hybrid on a mission, so I have 9 tracks total. There may be more tracks that I haven't found yet, as I haven't gotten very far into the game. We'll see.
-
"50%" = 4, possibly 5 out of 15 tracks? Yeah, okay. This reminds me of when people bitched about the LPU 4.0 tracklisting being "terrible" because one out of six tracks was a live recording we'd already heard. It never ceases to amaze me how unrealistic people's expectations of this band are.
-
I'm in the process of figuring out how many instrumental tracks there are. The 8 that previously leaked also aren't very good quality - they're in mono and have in-game sound effects over the top of them.

That was a clip of Rhinestone, not Esaul.
