I believe LPA has figured out that the Xbox thing is a hoax.

Mike once again proves himself to be a very eloquent writer who just "gets it." I just posted a very lengthy reply to that article, kind of hoping he responds. Looks like he's been checking it periodically and replying to the more interesting comments.

I actually like Ryan's song a bit better, lol. Both were good choices though. Definitely among the best that made the top 10.

DVD (main concert): Entire second take. MTV Ultimate Mashups (also on the DVD): Numb/Encore from first take (also used for the official music video), not sure on DOYS/LFY, Jigga What/Faint, or POA/99 Problems/OSC (the other two tracks weren't aired), plus a short clip of the It's Goin' Down portion of the Hip-Hop Medley as an intro.

http://lplive.net/stonetemplepilots/20130530.php "After playing five STP songs, the band was joined by Slash and Duff McKagan for a cover of Mott The Hoople's 'All The Young Dudes'. This counts as a partial Velvet Revolver reunion, missing just Dave Kushner from the lineup." Err...no it doesn't. Matt Sorum was the drummer in Velvet Revolver, not Eric Kretz...the only VR members on stage were Slash and Duff, lol. They didn't play a VR song, and the only true connection STP has to VR is through Scott, who is no longer part of the band.

The majority of LP's fanbase was probably 10 years old or younger when STP was in their prime. Chester's really singing for a band from another generation here, so I doubt a lot of LP fans will really be "into it." I'm sure people will check it out, but there is a VERY large chunk of the LP fanbase who had never heard an STP song prior to Out of Time (I've seen a LOT of people say so). Plus a bunch of people are probably off crying somewhere about how "LP broke up" just like they did when Fort Minor and Dead By Sunrise were announced. The ignorance of the casual music fan never ceases to amaze me - I STILL talk to people who think Mike quit the band in 2005 (the same kind of people who only heard Where'd You Go off the Fort Minor record, and their exposure to Linkin Park amounts to Hybrid Theory, the Meteora singles, What I've Done, and New Divide). "LP just hasn't been the same since that rapper guy quit!"

04.09.2013 - Bethlehem, PA, Sands Bethlehem
Astat replied to hahninator's topic in Stone Temple Pilots
Dead and Bloated was definitely messed up. Chester forgot an entire verse/refrain at the end. That song's supposed to be like 45 seconds longer than it was, lol. -
Etnies would be the only shot for BOW, there are a couple incomplete Camp Freddy proshot/SBD sources though. Harmony Central presumably has video of the full San Francisco 2006 show (they uploaded the 3 Chester songs), and the full Declare Yourself 2007 show was recorded and mixed by Mike Clink, but only I'm Eighteen was released (the full performance was only three songs).

Missing Sex Type Thing, unfortunately...or did they not play it even though it was on the setlist? -
Now that I listen again, I think this is it. Not sure if it's "the" or "your," but other than that I think you've got it.

Ehh...as someone whose favorite band of all time has gone through 10 different members over the years (the band is a 4-piece, mind you), and played in a band that went through 8 members in a year and a half, I wouldn't even flinch if Chester split from LP. I'd be disappointed about it, sure, but I'd only stop listening if the new singer/material written with the new singer sucked. As long as the music's good, I don't really care who's making it.

Rolling Stones Interview with Chester and Robert DeLeo
Astat replied to Skipees's topic in Stone Temple Pilots
Chester has been a total class act through this entire ordeal. I don't think he's taken a single shot at Scott in any of the interviews he's done about this project, when he very easily could have. It's a shame so many STP fans are going to shit all over anything he does with the band no matter what, because he's really got his head in the right place about everything that's been going on for the past few months. -
Yeah, they've been around since 1999. Pretty much the go-to site for the STP fan community until recently. Now there are a couple new sites popping up from people splitting away from Below Empty (both because of disagreements over STP with Chester, and because of the site shutting down for a while when STP with Chester was first announced). Kind of sad to see their webmaster turn this childish over something that countless bands have been through, particularly when Below Empty had done a great job of being a professional, reliable STP resource for well over a decade. They need to get somebody new in charge over there who doesn't have their head up their ass.

Let's put it this way: As a lifelong KISS fan who has put up with "Eric Singer/Tommy Thayer are talentless hacks/how dare they use Ace and Peter's makeup on other people" talk for the last 11 years from the mind-numbingly idiotic inhabitants of KISSFAQ...I can honestly say the people at Below Empty are TEN TIMES worse. These people exhibit the level of idiocy that's usually reserved exclusively for the comments section on Blabbermouth.net.

01.09.2013 - North Hollywood, CA - STP Rehearsal
Astat replied to hahninator's topic in Stone Temple Pilots
Hey, at least LPL is referring to the band by their proper name, rather than taking the childish "NO SCOTT = NO STP" denial route that Below Empty is (they're refusing to post any news regarding the new lineup on their home page, and their sub-forum for the current band lineup is titled "Dean, Robert, Eric, and Chester" instead of "Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington"). I'm gonna laugh my ass off if they end up getting sued for intentional misrepresentation of the STP brand. -
This is probably the type of thing that only I would nitpick over, but anybody's who's heard Blue probably knows what I'm talking about: The line Mike whispers twice during the outro (after Chester sings "version of the real"). I've been completely stumped over this since the song came out! It sounds almost like that line is intentionally distorted/has some scratching effects over it...did the band censor it for some reason? It sounds almost like it starts with "A small product of your..." but I could be totally wrong. I did some editing to that clip of the song to better isolate Mike's vocal and uploaded it as an attachment. Let me know if you guys have any ideas, because I literally have NO CLUE. blue_ending.mp3

I'm willing to bet they submitted a couple different mixes/masters of the album and somewhere along the line, someone at WB goofed and used the wrong one (starting a few years back when the alternate Shadow of the Day was used in Rock Band, as well as the HDTracks version of MTM). Maybe the original master was even lost at some point? Who knows. Highly doubt the band purposely went back and made changes to the songs later on.
-
I don't believe so. Those are the only ones on Minutes to Midnight, and I'm pretty sure the other albums used the same masters as the originals, so there shouldn't be any other differences (MTM is the only album I have from the iTunes edition to compare with though). Shadow of the Day actually has a lot more differences than just the sample/string switch - the synth bass is replaced with real bass starting with the second verse on the original version, but that doesn't happen until the first guitar solo on the new version. The palm-muted guitar in the first two choruses/second verse is also completely absent from the new version.

If STEVE HISMELF has so little to do during the live performance of ALTNC that he can spend 80% of the song running/jumping/dancing around the stage, how the hell do they expect a performance with the full band to work?

Older Stone Temple Pilots songs recommendations
Astat replied to Skipees's topic in Stone Temple Pilots
Basically the entire Core and Purple albums are excellent. Big Bang Baby and Trippin' On a Hole in a Paper Heart are my two favorites off of Tiny Music. Not really a fan of much of their stuff from No. 4 onwards. -
Published on Joe Hahn's Linkin Park Network profile under their old website design (Joe had every music video's he's directed on there at one point). There are actually 3 versions of the SOTD video. The "regular" version, a European alternate version where Chester's messenger bag is shown falling to the ground in the final shot of the video, and the "director's cut" version that Joe released. *Edit* Hey, I actually made a news post on this during the brief period where I was staff on LPA! http://www.lpassociation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27436

Hit the Floor is like Meteora's By Myself - 90% of the song is based around one incredibly repetitive, not-particularly-interesting guitar riff. They're about equal musically, but Hit the Floor's lyrics aren't nearly as good. Putting it that way makes By Myself sound good...but it's actually my least favorite song on Hybrid Theory. THAT'S why I don't like Hit the Floor, lol.

Hmm...looks like there's a bit of viral marketing starting up:
