It blows my mind that people still take this seriously 6 and a half years later. I have never, and will never consider "Refuckingwrite" a legitimate working title for Bleed it Out because it's VERY well-established how frustrated Mike was with the number of times he had to re-write the lyrics to that song. The fact that "Accident," the ACTUAL working title, is still on the same piece of paper pretty much confirms that it's nothing more than Mike being funny/frustrated. I absolutely GUARANTEE that Bleed it Out was never referred to as "Refuckingwrite" in a Pro Tools session, a band meeting, a provisional album tracklisting, or anything other than this one piece of paper. These are all fake.

Yeah, can't find that anywhere either. CD Japan would normally have that info by this point, and their entry for the album doesn't mention it. If there's a Japan bonus track, I'd assume it would be the Paul Van Dyk remix of Burn it Down, since that was the preorder bonus track for everyone else.

That show in general was really cool from a historical standpoint. System of a Down was still a local/regional band (although a pretty well-established one) in 1997, in fact the period they were playing shows at places like the Whisky and the Viper Room was around the time they started getting major label attention (they were ultimately signed by none other than Rick Rubin that year), and SX-10 would have just formed not long before this show as well, it may have even been THEIR first show too!
-
Vaguely remember the story but no clue when it was said. I thought it was just something from an interview with Mike, not a live show.
-
I think so, yeah. I remember Mike mentioning opening for SX10 and System of a Down in one of the interviews leading up to SSMF, and I'm pretty sure he mentioned it being their first show.

The only actual music video from Collision Course is Numb/Encore (and even that used the live audio with a montage of behind the scenes footage). Everything else was just the live videos from the DVD.

Yep, fake. Victimized is m_macdonald's remix from Reliving Things.

Hardcore version of Victimized? MY BODY IS READY.

Looks like they've already made the stems available to other artists for remixes! They're apparently going to do a remix contest for this song on Microsoft Surface, so I guess it makes sense that the stems would've gotten sent to "professionals" first.

Making Of ALTNC Part 2: http://216.151.1.135/videos/xvideo-play.as...D=2695159106001

I could've written that in 5 minutes. Song sounds good, but come on.

You're probably used to hearing the radio edit where the song starts with the main riff immediately. That little "soft part" at the beginning is part of the studio version. - This is one of the shows that the show page lists "extended intro" for. Compare it to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUoEMFYbxiI Same thing, minus the acoustic guitar from the studio version.

Joe Hahn test the new "Surface Music Kit" by Microsoft
Astat replied to Stranger's topic in Everything Linkin Park
The "JH Mix" of ALTNC is likely just the altered version of the song that plays in the background throughout most of the video. Based on the whole "Joe played around on the Surface Music Kit for a few minutes" vibe of the video, I'd be very surprised if it was actually a "finished" remix or anything remotely close to it. -
...As I said before: How is this overproduced? Is it auto-tuned? Probably, but EVERY SINGLE LINKIN PARK SONG SINCE HYBRID THEORY (except for MAYBE The Messenger) has had auto-tuned vocals. It's an industry standard. It has been for a decade and a half. In terms of the use of more OBVIOUS pitch correction/vocal effects, Out of Ashes' vocals aren't any more "over-produced" than the vocals on the last two Linkin Park albums (although there are certainly more layered harmonies than the typical LP song has), and this STP stuff is SIGNIFICANTLY more raw-sounding than any of those 3 records. I'm honestly BAFFLED by this. STP is a pretty straightforward rock band, no keyboards, no DJ, no need for any crazy electronic vocal effects. Meanwhile, Linkin Park has been employing the use of vocoders, flanger effects, tons of echo, vocal scratching/"chopping," etc. for the last several years...but somehow the vocals on LP records hardly get criticized at all, yet THIS is "overproduced?" Do people seriously think Chester should sound like he's singing in the fucking Ramones when he's not on a Linkin Park record or what?

iTunes quality of Black Heart has been out for at least 2 days now.

Love how some people think any song with vocal harmonies = "overproduced vocals."

1. If it's on Youtube, it's not a "very rare show." 2. I've maintained all along that this was a cover band (and a very bad one at that - their guitarist isn't playing anything close to correct in half of these songs). Not sure where Skipees got that I said something different, unless he's getting this show confused with something else I brought up at some point.

If nothing else, it's nice to have confirmation that the 1.61 GB version we've had for a long time is indeed the master, and we don't have to worry about trying to track down an upgrade for this recording anymore!

The only time The Requiem was performed with the Oppenheimer Outro (a.k.a. the album version of The Radiance) was at the NYC release show for A Thousand Suns. The Requiem always had the instrumental portion of The Radiance after it, they just swapped the Oppenheimer speech out for the Savio one once they decided to open shows with The Requiem/Wretches (but kept it that way for shows with other opening songs too). I suggested ages ago that all ATS shows that open with The Requiem should have the setlist pages like this: 01. The Requiem 02. The Radiance (w/Savio speech) 03. (next song) ...But staff shot me down on that one for some reason. If it weren't for it being listed as "The Radiance" on A Thousand Suns +, I'd say the interlude after Numb should just be a performance note - "Numb (w/Oppenheimer outro + The Catalyst lyrics)" instead of how it's currently listed as "The Radiance (Live Version)." This has always bugged me, because the "Speech Scratch Outro" note after The Requiem doesn't give any indication that the instrumental portion of The Radiance was actually played. The Savio speech by itself isn't counted as a partial performance of Wretches and Kings, so why should the Oppenheimer speech over a completely unrelated piece of music be counted as a performance of The Radiance?

The song isn't BAD, at least instrumentally...it's just one of those "ho-hum" mid-tempo songs that doesn't really push the envelope much. It kind of reminds me of some of STP's more indie rock-ish stuff from their most recent album with Scott. The biggest letdown is surprisingly the vocals. After Chester's phenomenal performance on Out of Time, I had really high expectations for the rest of the EP, but he honestly just sounds lazy on this track. Not off-key, not a bad melody or anything...he just sounds like he didn't put a lot into this song. Definitely one of the more "phoned-in sounding" vocal performances of his career. Bummer.

It's not too bad if you progress enough to buy a few glove/shield upgrades. I'm at Rank 14 and I can take out any Hybrid in a maximum of 2 hits with the Fire element (except for the giant "bosses" like the one found at the end of today's daily challenge/end of Outlands level 16). I rarely even take damage to my Energy anymore because my Shield is at like 180. ...Yeah, definitely hoping they open up the second sector soon.

Save for Mike and Rick's remixes, that's probably the case. "Remixing" to most people these days amounts to creating a new instrumental track from scratch and slapping the acapella over the top of it...you wouldn't believe the amount of bitching I saw during the Lost in the Echo remix contest. "USING THE ORIGINAL SYNTH HOOK IN A REMIX IS SUPER CHEAP" and other shit like that. I had numerous people tell me my entry "shouldn't even qualify as a remix" because I used some of the original instrumental stems. No idea what the fuck happened with the remixing community, but I don't like it one bit.

All of the guitar heard in the Making Of video is in the final version of the song.

Out of Time was WAY better.
